A Song That Really Speaks To You?

Is there a song you have heard that embodies how you are without you having to conform to the lyrics? Is there a band that seems to hit home with every one of their songs? Are there songs out there that just rub you so wrong that you wish they had never been created? Go ahead and tell us about it!

personally, I have to say the song Broken Heart by Motion City Soundtrack is a very good one for me, and that band seems to be in my head half the time.

However, there is also a song that drives me absolutely batty. I cannot STAND Dynamite by Taoi Cruz. Every time I hear it, it makes me want to punch babies and kick puppies I get so mad. (no babies or puppies were harmed in the making of this comment.)

This is a song that is me and my fiance's song due to how accurate it is =)

As for songs that irritate me to no end... well that's easy...this one

well there are two. One I've known for a while, the other I just found this weekend.

The first one is "No Reins" by Rascal Flatts. I'm not a huge fan of country, but I love the lyrics.

All my life, I've felt like I was second behind my older sister (25). My older brother really never battled against me for affection. But I'm realizing that I'm not breaking free of the reins of some guy (like in the song), I'm breaking free of the reins I made myself to keep in the sight and attention of my parents. I'm growing up and finding my own way.

The other is called 'I like you, I love you' by Kagamine Rin, Vocaloid.

The reason why this song speaks to me, is because my boyfriend is a huge gamer, and even before we were dating I was that flirtatious but shy friend. I never knew what to say around him. And listening to this song reminds me of how silly I was.

"Passive" by A Perfect Circle kind of hit me when I first heard it, because the lyrics ("Wake up and face me, don't play dead 'cause maybe, someday, I will walk away and say, 'You disappoint me, maybe we're better off this way") really remind me of so many relationships, mostly friendships, I've been in and eventually had to walk away from. Pretty much every song by OTEP really affects me, but I identify with the lyrics to one of their songs, "You're a Woman Now", really strongly.

Pretty much every song by Buckcherry and Theory of a Deadman makes me want to punch something (no offense, fans). I really hate anything poppy or country, but it's the lyrics that make a song unbearable for me, so there a tons of songs I just cannot listen to without committing violence against inanimate objects.

Pretty much everything of Scott Weiland's (solo and with Stone Temple Pilots) gets to me. He often references much deeper pain than I'll ever feel (thankfully), but his words, tone, and voice just sort of seeps in. It's difficult to describe, but yeah, I'd say it speaks to me.

As for rage-inducing songs... "I Hate My Life" by Theory of a Deadman. It... At the risk of offending a Theory of a Deadman fan, I won't go into why, I'll just leave it at that I really dislike that song. :lol:

When it comes to an individual song -- well, that changes on a pretty regular basis. As my mood changes, as I hear new songs that fit better, the songs that fit me are going to change.

As far as one band hitting the nail on the head... I'm interpreting that as being the band that turns my personality into something audible, and that would have to be He Is Legend. The vocalist's voice has even changed drastically due to loads of cigarettes and whiskey, which happen to be my two favorite bad habits. It's like they were made for me. Haha.
Interesting, though, that they're not my #1 favorite band. Hmm.

A song that really speaks to me, in a lot of ways, is a song by one of my favorite Blackened Death Metal band Behemoth. The song is called Ov Fire and the Void,

There is a lot of meaning in this song, dug deep where, if one choose, could see the deeper meanings and not the obvious.

Well there, re a lot of songs that really get to me but a couple that I think I really connected with was "What have you done" by Within Temptation, "My immortal" by Evanescence and "D-Technolife" by Uverworld (Japanese group). Here's the rough translation that I've found, I don't think it's perfect but it'll do.

Although the song that I probably connect with the most is "Caladonia" as I am Scottish and PROUD OF IT!!!!!

The band tha I really connect with (or seem to) is Within Temptation. I don't know why but their music really really seems to go with me and I love it!
Another group is 'Celtic Woman' (I know, opisites much?) They're just...their music is beautiful and I love listening to it! Their version of Caladonia is my favourite at the moment and also their song "Isle of hope, isle of tears," is nice as it tells the story of a journey.
