The Guardian Angel ((Coolio & Narc))
This is a private RP thread you are welcome to read and follow along but PM us if you have any questions. |
Name: Rhys Alta
Age: 18 Height: 5’6” Hair Color: Orange Eye Color: Light brown Personality: Rhys is very friendly and affectionate, and derives great pleasure from care giving. He often comes across as naïve and even childish due to his high energy level and enthusiasm for life’s simple pleasures, as well as his occasional tendency to be a bit of a crybaby. However, he does have a solemn side that rears its head on rainy days or when he’s simply feeling sad, and he isn’t simply a quivering shrinking violet; he’s sometimes very stubborn, and when it comes to protecting his charge he can be shockingly aggressive and even violent. http://i546.photobucket.com/albums/h.../aidou-kun.jpg It was so early in the morning that the sky was still tinged slightly gray, and moistured from the morning dew was darkening the cracks in the pavement under Rhys's feet. The coffee crowd was already out, and he could see clusters of people blocking both sidewalks in front of every coffee shop he passed, the air rich around them with the scent of cocoa beans. Rhys didn't like drinking coffee, but he liked the smell. He liked everything about mornings, actually; that was why he was out walking for no particular reason today. Money was a little tight, but he was thinking about going to the bookstore by the station to pick up something small to read. He hadn't been reading enough lately... Rhys was lost in his idle thoughts when he suddenly caught sight of a familiar face in the crowded sidewalk--or what he thought was a familiar face. He whirled, trying to catch sight of him again, his heart thrumming slightly in his chest as it always did when he saw him. ((Sorry, rather short and unremarkable, but I don't wanna box your character in at all)) |
Name: Ianys Juler
Age: 19 Hair Color: Medium shade of brown Height: 5'9 Eye Color: Pale Blue(Without Cantact lenses) Violet(With Cantact lenses) Personality: Ianys is a little selfish at times, and can be a huge procrastinator,he hates seeing other people in misery and can be brave and courageous. See Ianys acts like an ass but deep down he is very sensitive and helpful, he does not have a lot of control when it comes to his anger, and gets carried away when it comes to someone he loves. He has never apologized to anyone in his life, and seems to put up these huge un-penetrable walls around him to shield him from other people. http://i764.photobucket.com/albums/x...1024-768-1.jpg It was an early morning, the morning air still crisp between Ianys's fingers, the grass still dimming from being covered in dew drops. He was just walking out from the coffee shop with a chocolate latte, He would probably go to the book store because a new part of a series he was reading up on had just come out he would have to shave when he got back to his apartment but it was only 8:00 and he had a grayish-black 5'0 clock shadow. ((Yea mines pretty short to)) |
((lol we're off to a great start then! ;) ))
When Rhys saw that it was indeed Ianys exiting the nearest coffee shop, he veered suddenly, cutting a few people off in the flow of sidewalk traffic, but didn't seem to notice the dirty looks that were thrown his way. Whenever he saw Ianys reality seemed a little less real, and his friend was the only thing Rhys's mind seemed to have room for. "Hi Ianys!" he cried, snatching the other boy's sleeve in his hand, being careful not to spill his coffee. He knew that Ianys's control on his temper was a little weak, and dumping scalding hot coffee on him first thing in the morning probably wouldn't help matters. "You're up pretty early! What are you doing? Going to the book store?" Rhys's hopefulness was obvious in his voice and his large, light brown eyes. The two of them often frequented the book shop--actually, it was part of the reason Rhys had headed in this direction this morning. |
Ianys turned and looked into Rhys's big brown eyes "Whats up you little shrimp" he called him that even though he was not that much taller or older than him the name seemed to fit him very well, because he had a rather child-esh look to him.
"Yes I am going, to the bookstore actually, so I guess that means you are too,I guess that means you will want to borrow some money, eh?" it was a rhetorical question, Ianys knew that he did not have a job or much money, although he was trying to get him a job of some sort, Ianys took a sip of his coffee and spoke once more. "Alright, how about i give you 20 bucks and you can blow it off on whatever you want." Ianys had a tendency to treat Rhys like he was a child sometimes, but he did not seem to care much, and neither did he for that matter. He looked in Rhys's eyes for some sort of response and took a sip of coffee, the cup was about half empty. ((you know I never had a chance to play a mature more older character, but in guess now is my chance)) |
((That's weird, I usually do play the older more mature character. It's a first for me too.))
Rhys's eyes went wide and misty at the offer. Twenty dollars? But he turned away proudly, resolution painted clearly on his pale features. "I have money of my own, thank you. And soon I'll have more than enough to pay you back for everything you've done for me." After all, that was the way it should be. Rhys couldn't keep letting Ianys take care of him; Rhys was supposed to be the one looking out for Ianys. He didn't know why, but he knew that ever since they had met he had known that his purpose was to take care of and protect him--and if he wanted to fulfill that purpose he had to start acting a little more adult...even if it meant reading a little less manga. After all, what if Ianys had some sort of emergenct and needed to borrow money or something? There would be nothing Rhys could do. "What are you drinking?" he added curiously as they began making their way to the book store. Ianys's cup smelled a little sweeter than regular coffee. |
Ianys was shooken a little by his response usually Rhys accepted money from him on a daily basis, when he offered it.
"Oh it is nothing really just a little extra sugar as all.", he shot Rhys a reassuring look but he knew and Rhys probably knew that, that was not true he added a little shot off vodka to it, but he could never tell him that because he felt like he had to be a good example for him, even though he smoked, drank, and went to strip clubs but he just didn't have the heart to tell him he didn't want Rhys to end up like him for some reason. He remembered the day he first met Rhys he was about 8 and Rhys was about 6 and a half or 7. They were in the park and Rhys was being beat up by some 12 yr olds, but fortunately Ianys came to help. He was beat up himself but after that Rhys never went away for very long , and they were really close. |
((Haha, nice, the ol' Irish coffee. I like Ianys already.))
"I don't know how you can drink that," Rhys told him, eying out some hand-made candy in a window as they passed. As far as he was concerned, the only thing a person should eat was something either very healthy or very sweet. And Rhys often simply settled for sweet. He'd been wanting to talk with Ianys about something for a while, and wished that they had a more private place to do it, but for now the sidewalk would have to do. When they were kids it seemed like they had all the time in the world for each other, but these days with working and more responsibilities...and relationships, he thought, a little sadly...they seemed to have less and time for each other. "Hey Ianys, I've been thinking," he started, still looking inside windows as they passed, avoiding his friend's gaze. "I can't really find any work or anything, and I don't have that much experience...I've been thinking about applying to college or something." He glanced up at his friend, then away, then up at him again, as though for approval. He had never really thought about going to college when he'd been in high school--he didn't think either of them had--but lately his money troubles were wearing on him more and more. He was tired of living off of Ianys. |
Ianys looked inside of Rhys's eyes as if he was searching for something, he discovered that Rhys was actually serious about this, he himself had never thought about college, even though he could afford it, and had a great job and everything.
But he didn't want Rhys to go to college yet, Ianys felt that if he did go to college it would change him, and they would grow even farther apart than they are know Ianys couldn't let that happen, he had this itching feeling that he had to protect Rhys but sometimes he felt like it has to be the other way around. When he was around Rhys he could control his temper, or atleast he tried his best to, he was nice to him not rude like he was usually, in a way Rhys was protecting him he felt, and he had to talk to Rhys in private about some things, and it's about time Rhys saw Ianys's apartment. But then again Ianys's had to support Rhys in whatever decisions he made and if he made a mistake he had to let him learn from it."If you want I can get you a job at where I work at, if you want."He finished of his coffee and threw the cup behind him hoping it didn't hit anyone. At that point he realized something what if Rhys was supposed to be protecting him, it often felt that way at times. That reminded him that he needed to do some clothes shopping he had just got some money, because yesterday was pay day, he had just passed a window with clothes in it, He would probably go after talking with Rhys at his apartment. ((Ye old Irish, coffee)) |
Rhys stared up at Ianys with wide, wondering eyes. "Do you think you could? Really?" He felt a little guilty for showing such excitement; really, he should have been able to find a job on his own, with his own qualifications, but the idea of working with Ianys every day was like a dream come true. They could go to work together, and Rhys could make him lunches, and they could hang out together during coffee breaks, and, and--!
"But do you think they'd really hire me? I don't have that much experience..." Rhys curled his fingers around Ianys's sleeve again. Ianys was like his security blanket; whenever he touched him, Rhys felt a little bit stronger. When they were little boys they would always hold hands when they went out to play, but once they'd entered high school Ianys didn't seem to like that anymore. "Um, where do you work, anyway?" he queried, a little cautiously. He had always thought that Ianys had some sort of big, important job, but they hadn't spoken much since he'd been hired. Rhys had been happy for him, so he hadn't complained, but life had just seemed...empty without Ianys around. |
"Well yea they'll hire you, or at least they better if they know whats good for them,I work at that big restaurant downtown, they have a position open as a table boy, you know someone who sets up and cleans tables after the guest, the pay is decent and it'll start you off with you college dream." Ianys knew that working with Rhys day in and day out was going to be great, he would get to talk to him all day, eat lunch together, and help him out on his college journey, and build up a stronger bond together.
He noticed that Rhys was holding on to his shirt sleeve, he didn't mind at all even with people around, when he did things like that it calmed him down it made him feel important he would always have time for Rhys, if Rhys ever got into any kind of trouble he would try his best to be there for him, he often felt like a brother figure to him, but it was more than that though. He remembered that Rhys could cook really well and asked, "Can you make lunch for me every day?" he asked with a pleasant smile. |
A table boy? Rhys could do that! He may not have had many skills, but how hard could it be to clear tables? He'd heard that customers in restaurants could get a little out of hand, but as long as Ianys was there with him he knew he didn't have anything to be afraid of.
Rhys winced a little and mentally kicked himself. There he was again, depending on Ianys. It was no different than it had been years ago, when they'd first met and Ianys had saved Rhys from those bullies...once again he was leaning on his friend. He perked right up when he heard Ianys's question, though, and his smile filled Rhys with warmth. "Every day!" he repeated with a grin. But his smile faltered a little when he remembered where they were going to be working. "Um...but, I don't know if you'll like it as much, if you're used to eating food from the restaurant..." Rhys really liked cooking, but he didn't think he was as good as a professional chef. Maybe he could learn some things while he was working there. "What do you do there, anyway, Ianys? Are you a manager?" His eyes were wide and starry, trying to imagine Ianys yelling orders to cooks and waiters and keeping the business running smoothly. |
He looked at Rhys as if he was crazy "Yeah I get a lot of money from the job but there's no way I can afford things that fancy, Oh and I'm a waiter down there, working with you every day might be a pain though, and it might be a lot of fun too." he gave Rhys a smile, he could tell that Rhys liked it when he smiled.
They soon turned the corner where the bookstore was and looked at the open sign "Right on time" he said, the sign said that the hours on that day were 8:30am-6:30pm. They walked inside carefully Ianys hoping to find the books he was searching for. |
Rhys curled his hand tighter around Ianys's sleeve when he smiled, and let him lead him into the familiar book shop. It was a small second-hand shop whose books were a little tattered, with bent spines and dog ears abounding; the selection was a little sparse compared with larger chains, but there was always something interesting to find in the little store. And most of the employees knew Rhys and Ianys by now, so sometimes they got discounts.
"I don't know what I'm looking for today," Rhys said thoughtfully as they stepped inside. He had come out on a whim, without much of a plan in mind. "Do you know what you want to get, Ianys?" He reached out to finger the shiny spines of some old hardcovers. |
"Yea a new part of a manga series i've been reading just came out yesterday" he watched carefully as Rhys browsed around the shop he went quietly over to manga isle found the book where it was supposed to be carefully grabbed it and watched over on Rhys.
He seemed so happy when he was around Ianys, and he felt the same way although he felt the same way, you couldn't tell just by looking at his face though, he didn't care about what other people thought about their relationship all that mattered is that they were happy. He began to read his manga waiting on Rhys to pick something. He carefully fingered through the pages of the book. |
Rhys took forever deciding what he wanted to buy. Since he only had enough money for one book he shuffled back and forth through the store from one section to the next, only to end up in the manga aisle next to Ianys again, flipping through all the graphic novels he could get his hands on. In the end he decided on a new shojo series; sometimes people gave him a hard time for liking stories that were aimed at 13-year-old girls, but he didn't mind. Ianys never seemed to judge him, so he didn't care what anyone else thought.
When he finally picked out what he wanted he skipped to the cash register with Ianys in tow. "I guess I don't have anything to do today," he announced as he peered curiously at what his friend was buying. He then turned his light brown eyes on Ianys's. "Do you have any plans today? Do you want to want to do something?" |
"Yes do you want to finally see my apartment?"he asked even though he already knew the answer, it would be nice to have some company over, good thing he cleaned the place up the day before he piled up their books on the counter and paid for them both, he hoped that Rhys didn't notice, he wanted Rhys to keep his money for other things.
He wanted to see the excitement on Rhys's face, whenever he was happy Rhys was happy and Vice versa. |
"You're apartment? Yeah!" Rhys cried, already forgetting about the books. Partly it was because of his excitement, but partly it was simply because he'd gotten used to Ianys paying for things when they were together. "Where is it? What does it look like inside?" He tried to imagine what Ianys's place was like; no matter how dingy it might be, there was no way it could be worse than Rhys's one-bedroom basement suite. He didn't think that Ianys had seen it yet, but he was pretty sure his friend would insist that he move if he ever set foot inside.
Rhys held the door open for Ianys, since the lady behind the counter had given him the bag to carry. ((feel free to skip ahead to the apartment if you want!)) |
As they entered the apartment he looked around, TV were he left and so was the couch, he was checking because recently there had been reports of cat burglars in the area. He went into the kitchen to find the coffee he cooked before he left he didn't know why he made it, he didn't plan on going to the coffee shop while he was making it, he poured himself a cup and added some sugar cubes from a jar. He then set the mug on a shelf next to the couch.
Ianys went to close the door behind Rhys, he then went to check the bird nest that two doves had built a few weeks ago, he lifted the window seal to find four eggs that were nestled neatly into the nest. He looked back at Rhys "So, what do you think" he asked hoping for a good answer. |
Rhys stared around at the apartment silently, drinking in every detail of the space. The scent of coffee was thick and rich, and everywhere he looked there were little pieces of evidence of Ianys's existence; papers scattered here or there, clothes thrown over an arm of a chair and a few pairs of shoes standing by the door. It was a wonderful place, at least in Rhys's estimation, but a strange, sharp pain took hold of him as he gazed around. It was strange and felt so wrong to see so much of Ianys's life laid out before him, unfamiliar as though he were some sort of stranger. They hadn't seen each other in quite a while--or at least it felt that way--but Ianys seemed to be doing just fine without Rhys.
He unlaced his sneakers as quickly as possible while Ianys grabbed his coffee. "So, what do you think?" "It's amazing!" Rhys exclaimed with a bright smile, shoving his darker thoughts aside. It really was a good apartment. He followed Ianys to the window and peered outside, gasping when he saw the eggs. "Is that a bird's nest? What kind are they?" |
Ianys was still watching the eggs until he watched one of the eggs begin to crack, it was hatching! He closed the window to make sure he didn't disturb the new-borns he watched Rhys as he came over, he had almost forgotten that he still needed to talk to Rhys, about a few things for that was the whole reason they came anyway. He hadn't talked to him in a long while personal wise but he wanted to start building that bond that they had together when the were younger, when they were younger the bond seemed to be un-breakable but now anything could come between them, and he wanted the bond to last till the end of time, he loved Rhys but he just wanted them to be more than just friends.
"There doves Rhys", he watched in silence as he watch the one struggle to get out of the egg shell, the mom and dad were probably out looking for food, the eggs were a cream color, they were beautiful. He got up and went over to the couch took a sip of coffee and began to speak. "Rhys, can you come here for a sec?" |
((ohhh plot's heating up...! :eager:))
Rhys watched the tiny little birds hatching, his eyes wide with wonder. They were kind of ugly, actually, but somehow still so cute that he wanted to pick them up and hold them all in his arms. "Doves?" he breathed, pressing a hand against the windowpane. "They're so beautiful!" He was so transfixed by the sight of them that he didn't notice Ianys had moved until he suddenly spoke up. Rhys looked around, his heart fluttering in alarm when he saw that his friend was longer at his side, until he caught sight of Ianys sitting on the couch. Something seemed a little strange about the man's behavior; he seemed a little more serious than usual. Rhys worried suddenly that he'd done something to make Ianys angry. "Yeah," he answered, glancing at the doves once more before following Ianys to the couch and sinking down beside him. "Is something wrong?" he answered, glancing at Ianys uncertainly. |
((Yep getting to the juicy stuff :rofl:))
"Rhys I have something really important to tell you" he looked into his eyes so deep, he just wanted to come right out and say it, he watched the doves, hatch while he waited for a response from Rhys he hadn't even imagined how he'd respond hopefully he would respond positively but you could never know with Rhys, he was so unpredictable. He knew what he would want from Rhys after he asked him, or told him to be more specific. He would want him to feel the same way. He went back to looking into Rhys's eyes and his began to grow misty. |
"Something important?" Rhys repeated. His heart thrummed; Ianys was looking straight into his eyes, his pale blue gaze so intense that Rhys couldn't look away. He loved Ianys's eyes. They were like blue fire.
He waited for Ianys to continue, and when he didn't Rhys's heart started beating faster, this time from fear. Ianys looked like he was about to cry. Why was he suddenly acting so strangely? "What is it?" he pleaded, tugging on Ianys's sleeve. "What's wrong? Tell me!" |
He looked at Rhys again and began to talk "Rhys.....well..."he stopped and leaned in kissing him so deeply and softly, and it stayed like that for a while "I love you Rhys I love you so much", all these years he had loved Rhys but never like this. He hugged him for a while an spoke "Rhys,I've always loved you" he hugged on him waiting for a response.
"Please Rhys, love me please" |
