Welcome to the results thread of Ghastly Garments, the Halloween 2010 avatar contest! I have to tell you all: Daria and I were really pleased with the outcome of this year's contest! We had a ton of fantastic entries, so you can imagine the difficulty we had judging. We know you had to wait a while for these results, but we've both been ridiculously busy in real life, so some things have had to sit on the back burner until we had time to hash things out. Just as a reminder, here are the prizes for each category: 1st Place: 5,000g 2nd Place: 3,000g 3rd Place: 1,000g Honorable mentions: 500g So, without further ado, here are your winners! :D |
Halloween Themed Avatar Contest
Sooo, I had some difficulty with this, because a lot of you didn't make orange and black the focus of your outfits. :sweat: Sure, there was orange and black in all of them (in varying amounts), but many of you went a bit crazy with the secondary color options, and even decided to add extra colors. :xp: So when I judged these avatars, I was a bit more lenient about my rules, allowing a bit more non-orange/black. I really liked the creepy-cute combo you went with on this one. :D I imagined this avatar in New Orleans at Halloween, and it made me like it all that much more. :lol: Maybe it's the streamers and voodoo combination? Really, anything with streamers (and bones?) makes me feel festive immediately. Anyway, I love it! :D Good color distribution too btw. Congrats! Although your oranges are a bit off, you did an excellent job composing an outfit that is appropriate for the scene/theme and was all orange and black. I kinda feel sorry for this poor little girl! She looks so afraid! Man, I just can't believe she braved the graveyard at night, especially on Halloween! You never know what's lurking in the dark... XP Congrats! Before I announce our winner, I will say that the top three were really hard to choose. All three avatars caught my attention in some way or another, but ultimately, I chose the one that most put me in a Halloween spirit. When I was a kid, I was a witch on several occasions, so when I see a witchy avatar, it always makes me smile. Halloween Costume Avatar Contest First, I'd like to say how excited I am to have more entries than Sizzla!
