Sooo, I'm at school right now...

I'm in Digital Design 1 class and should probably be working on one of our Photoshop projects, but I really don't feel like it right now. xP lol
I really don't feel like being at school today so right now I'm just posting on here while listening to music until the period's over. One of the main reasons I enjoy having computer classes is because of the internet benefits. x3 Lol

Does anyone else play online games or listen to music at school while in computer class?

Captain Pains 11-29-2010 06:44 PM

Back when I was in High School, I had a business class that was in a computer classroom. NO BODY ever did their work because they were too busy streaming video games, music, online shows. It was so funny. The teacher got really upset at us and would sometimes lock the computer so that we had nothing else to do but what she had assigned. But I also drew pretty pictures when she did that. c:

That was a good class.
Barely passed it with a C. 8D
Ah. Procrastination, you will be the death of me~

Eh, even if I were on a school computer, they have 3/4 of the internet blocked, even Wikipedia. I even remember a short time when their own homepage was blocked...

Bearzy 11-29-2010 10:42 PM

I don't have a computer class, but there's a computer in Art History... so I use Mene XD

Sir D . L O Van Lobsters 11-29-2010 10:49 PM

I exhausted Wikipedia when I was in High School.

I had three computer classes that lasted about an hour each. I'd say a good 70% of those classes were spent reading about everything from Vietnam to how Maggots eat.

Bearzy 11-29-2010 11:28 PM

What a cool way to spend time! I'd totally do that if I thought of it.

Back in high school I wish I had spent less time daydreaming and messing around and more time, y'know, studying. ;D

Photoshop!!!! I wish we did photoshop projects in computer class

sailor star rainbow 11-30-2010 04:22 AM

Heck I did not take computer class but I had keyboarding class. I got away with playing a game on a kids site before the bell would ring. as long it had something to do with a key board. but I did my assignments any way had no choice baka speical ed assistant teacher was in the room.

Amethyst Lavenlight 11-30-2010 04:37 AM

I'm actually majoring in Computer Science, sooo...:XD When I had my first computer classes (Web Design and Java Programming) I actually paid attention. I always focused on the assignments because they were so fun! Afterwards, I'd help out the people sitting around me and then when I had nothing left to do, I'd listen to music and work on my fanfiction. At my school, playing games online was a serious offense. >.> Like, you'd get yelled at pretty badly.

Bearzy 11-30-2010 05:23 AM

In the last couple of weeks of school, you get your internet taken if you're caught playing games... (not that it's difficult to avoid being caught.)

Riri 11-30-2010 10:57 AM

You are all so lucky to be able to access the computer/internet in school. In computer class we don't get to have any internet unless our teacher would let us watch something in youtube but from the big flatscreen. Same goes for music class. We got no digital arts class, sadly. @[email protected] Arts class this grading is origami. yuck.
We are not allowed to use internet during after school/recess/lunch break. It just isn't fair.

AlicesCheshire 11-30-2010 11:14 AM

Well, when I still lived where I used to, I used to go on gaia (before I knew about mene), meebo and youtube all the time in my digital imaging class XD
The teacher didn't really care if we listened to music and such in class so long as we got our work done (and that class was pretty fun, so I had no problems with it.)

At my new school they have EVERYTHING blocked.
You can't go on GOOGLE IMAGES, much less youtube.
No idea what idiot screwed us all over so badly, and I'm not really sure I want to know what they tried to get onto online in order to have that much blocked.

Youtube's blocked, Google images is blocked, some of the educational websites we're SUPPOSED to be using are blocked, etc *sigh*
It's really hard getting pictures for projects when we aren't even allowed to see them -___-;;

I miss my old school ;~;

jellysundae 11-30-2010 12:58 PM

Hahahaha. Sorry guys but really, listen to yourselves, you're at school to LEARN, not play online, can I politely say...get your heads out of your asses :ninja:

Computosaurus 11-30-2010 01:36 PM

I do not have a computer in class anymore, but this did bring back good memories of high school programming class. Man, did I surf some amazing websites back then. So much nostalgia! *sniff*

Keyori 11-30-2010 08:22 PM

Well, technically I have class right now, but the class isn't meeting because it's for "project time." I'm not using it for project time, obviously, but I did just spend two hours before class time meeting with my partner to do the project. So I feel justified using a computer right now :)

When I was in high school though... I don't think I did much that wasn't class work, except spider solitaire and reversi (if I was done with my work, since the teacher could watch all of the screens from her computer).

Generally I'd agree with you, but sometimes there really is nothing to be done in class, in those cases it's really annoying to have nothing to do on the internet either.

We don't have Google Images blocked, but you can't see the thumbnails... which can be awkward if I'm trying to find a picture like "The bathers" for Art History.

*clicks invisible thumbnail*
"NOOOO! DID NOT WANT!"

Keyori 11-30-2010 09:17 PM

Having GIS blocked was so irritating. I mean, if kids are trying find porn, they're gonna find porn, and it has nothing to do with GIS.

Even the teachers were mad about GIS being blocked, especially my web design teacher. How were we supposed to find images for our web designs or for other class projects (like presentations) without an image search service?

So the district made a "clip art directory" for us to use. Which had really stupid images, worse than the stuff that's already loaded into Microsoft Office. Ugh.

Now I think they allow GIS, but it forces safesearch to be on or something. Not entirely sure though.

We don't even have that.

Try to go to google images and a page pops up like NO. YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO DO THAT. and I was just staring at it for a while going "I WAS LOOKING UP WHAT A PLANT CELL LOOKS LIKE!"

Bearzy 12-01-2010 01:17 AM

Ohyup. I love your siggie btw (is reading it at the moment)

AlicesCheshire 12-01-2010 03:40 AM

What Heart no Kuni? (er...Alice in the Country of Hearts *started reading it before it got published in English XD*)

ReineDeLaSeine14 12-01-2010 03:46 AM

Today was the only day I've really done that and that was because I didn't have anything to work on. To be honest I think that doing other things whilst in class when you're supposed to be working unless you're done or your teacher/prof says it's optional is very rude.

If you're in university, you pay to go there (or your parents). Make that money count!

AlicesCheshire 12-01-2010 03:49 AM

Well, the only times I ever really do stuff on the computers in class is when I DON'T have work to do, or I have stuff I can do while listening to music/etc. *works better while listening to music*

Keyori 12-01-2010 05:13 AM

Well, in a roundabout way, your parents also pay for your elementary, secondary, and postsecondary schooling as well, through taxes.

So you should get your parents' money's worth either way. ;D

I don't always work better listening to music...but I do when there's someone else there to poke me with a stick should I stop working.
