.{ Marauders' Era Hogwarts RP }.
I've been rattling the idea of doing a group RP around in my head for a while, specifically with Harry Potter, and I wanted to do something that wasn't quite as common as the other Hogwarts RPs you see bouncing around, so I thought I'd see how many people would be interested in a Marauders' Era RP.
All canons present during the time period would be fair game, both students and teachers, and original characters will also be considered, though I would like to ask that originals be well thought out and interesting. You may start with no more than two characters, and no more than one of them may be a canon character. After you have been with the RP for a little while, you may talk to me if you are interested in bringing in another character. If I am actively searching for a certain canon and cannot find anyone to play them, I might be willing to bend the one canon limit. This will not be entirely canon-compliant, so you need not feel the necessity to play out events exactly as they happened in the book. This goes for pairings, as well. With that in mind, make sure to talk to the person on the receiving end of your pairing to make sure they are okay with it. Even if you're playing James, don't assume you get to end up with Lily. For all you know, your Lily might have her eye on that Hufflepuff girl in her Herbology class. So who's interested, and what characters would you like to play? I'll be playing Snape, and both Dumbledore and Voldemort are off-limits for the time being, but everyone else is fair game. I would love to have a Lily! :D It occurs to me that I should probably write up an application so people can apply, so I'm going to write it up and stick it in the first post. When I get the app up (and I'm going to work on it right now), just PM it to me. :)
If and when I can get two or three more people on board, I'll go ahead and start the IC thread. |

I was thinking the beginning of their fifth year, which would be before the incident in Snape's Worst Memory, but I'm flexible on that. :)
The application is up, by the way. I'm sure it won't be a problem, but since Lily is such a major character, I'd like either a sample of your writing with the application. You can either link me to another thread you're in or write a few paragraphs from Lily's perspective. Don't worry, I'm not terribly picky. :) |

Not particularly. Normally I'd have some sort of hidden phrase in the rules, but since I haven't written up rules yet, just title it something to do with Harry Potter.
I like real pictures, though fan art for canons is also fine. Anime pictures are fine for OCs, but I'd prefer not to have it for canons, unless it's anime-style fan art of the characters. |

Any idea what canon you would like to play? So far Severus and Lily are the only ones taken, so all the Marauders are still open, not to mention teachers and some of the other Slytherins who were mentioned only by name. Fifth years would be preferable for originals, since that's the year the Marauders are currently in.
