sarofset + Mig

First things first.

I'm not sure how much roleplaying you've done, or anything, but I'm going to treat this as I would any other role play and I do hope you'll ask lots of questions as I go over stuff. I also hope I don't overwhelm you any. I have the tendency to get over indulgent in my ramblings, but I digress.

I am going to start asking you some questions.

What sort of roleplays do you like? Hetero or otherwise? What kind of genre? Being that they fall into a few different categories: Fantasy, Historical, Sci-fi, Contemporary.

Those categories can even be blended together, like fantasy-contemporary. Ie; vampires in present day, werewolves in London, demon lords attacking a small town, et cetera.

From there, there are things like themes which seem very similar to genres, but not quite. Like Pirates, space pirates, ninjas, high school, Rockstars, Feudal Japan, Angels v.s. Demons, et cetera.

If its the romantic sort of RP, the kinds of couples that you like, also play a huge role in the direction of the rp. And if its not then you need to consider character types, for the dynamic of the RP.

Like warriors, soldiers, uh, two priests or a damsel, and see how the characters would work to form a suitable and enjoyable plot.

After this we'll talk about plots. :3

sarofset 12-20-2010 08:40 PM

I like Sci-fi, fantasy, historical, and any combination of those, since that's what I usually write.

I haven't done much in the way of romance as of yet.

In terms of characters I have used warriors, soldiers, mages, aliens, ninja's spies, etc. and combinations of those.

I'm comfortable working with any plot you can come up with, but I don't like it when people try to write my character for me.

All that being said, what would you like to do?

(Again, I'm a writer, I just haven't worked with other people before.) :)

Les Mignonette 12-21-2010 11:33 AM

Ah, okay, well certainly you should break down stuff that you've done, with stuff that you might like to try, and also stuff that you would never want to do.

Again, having literary skills makes for an excellent roleplayer. As a writer myself, the only 'problem' I've come across is that sometimes I think too far ahead and forget that there is another person. But its never an issue.

When people take over your character or make your character do something, its typically called an auto post. And they are frowned upon

Alright well, I enjoy all of those Genres. Is there one you're particularly craving?

Sizzla 12-21-2010 05:53 PM

This looks like it goes in RP Requests, not Private RPs. I'll move it on over for you.

Once you guys finish discussing what you want to RP, THEN you can make a separate thread in Private RPs.

sarofset 12-21-2010 07:34 PM

I haven't done any fantasy in a while. So that's good for genre I guess. Since we are both going to be writing this what are you in the mood for in terms of the theme? From that we can do the characters.

Les Mignonette 12-22-2010 06:15 AM

Theme I'm pretty open. For fantasy, I like elves and war plots, demons and their demon lords, which is almost very S&M xD

But for this site, PG-13 and I dunno what your comfortable with.

Ah romance is good.

sarofset 12-22-2010 06:49 AM

Well. Romance is done a lot, but It's also fine with me, as long as you don't find it awkward. Some people have problems doing romance RPs with members of the opposite sex. I'm a method actor, so it's not a big deal to me really.

What kinds of elves do you like? Drow, high elves, wood elves, etc. I'm fine playing one, but we need to set some background for the story, or it becomes a bit random. And while most guys choose a warrior I prefer a thief, or mage type.

What about you?

Les Mignonette 12-22-2010 01:47 PM

I do not find it awkward at all. lol I'm not a 16 year old school girl.

That's awsome that you're an actor~ I did some acting way back when C:

All elves. I actually have an RP going with High Elves and Drow so I'm pretty good for any types of elves.

Ah~! A theif! We should do that. That's amazing.

Hm, okay a theif and for me I wonder...

sarofset 12-22-2010 06:00 PM

He he. :) this is fun. I'll be a wood-elf thief. Where should we start the story off. in a city, on a road, or?

Les Mignonette 12-22-2010 06:53 PM

Perhaps on a road to a city. I am thinking of a caravan of some sort. My only question is a focus to the plot. Like something to steal.

sarofset 12-22-2010 10:49 PM

And also who's doing the stealing? Are both of our characters thieves trying to hit the caravan? Is yours a person with the caravan? (assuming I'm not, because I'm a thief.) If so, is she on the guard, a passenger, a servant, an aristocrat? And for something to steal gems are valuable, small enough to steal, but large enough that they would be guarded.

How well guarded should this caravan be? Are we talking a platoon of fully armed soldiers, or a couple guys with daggers? And to whom does it belong? Is it royal treasure, military payroll, a wizard's personal money?

Les Mignonette 12-26-2010 04:43 PM

Okay. I got it.

The caravan is guarded by about six temple priests. Warrior class types, trained just for this sort of thing. The Priestess is guarding a valuable book. Something like a divine artifact of the religion, moving it to a main temple. The cover is hard leather with a lovely moon opal embedded into the cover. et cetera.

Upon him trying to steal the book, the priestess goes off with him. Unfortunately they are not only being chased by the temple guards, but other theives and darker beings seeking to use and or destroy the book/world as they know it.

What do you think?

sarofset 12-26-2010 08:33 PM

Sounds good. Do you prefer a lack of violence in your Rp's because I write this kind of thing for fun, and attacking a caravan would lead to some dead guards when I'm just writing normally. Just saying.

How big is the book? Is it my target, or am I just robbing the caravan because it's there?

Les Mignonette 01-02-2011 05:44 AM

Ah, the more rated 'R' it is in terms of violence and such the better. I would say that you would probably attack the caravan possibly not knowing what you're getting in to. Annnnd I don't mind writing up a quick intro and such.

And I'm really sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. I'm in the middle of a move right now and what with the holidays and the blizzard we just had, I was really set back. xX;

----------

I also hope you had a merry christmas and that Santa was good to you. In addition to having a happy new year. I hope you didn't party too hard~ xD

sarofset 01-02-2011 06:03 AM

Well mene has the whole pg13 policy and all, so that's really as far as we can go with violence, and we should put up a warning when we do the RP.

Where was there a blizzard? Where are you making a movie?

Les Mignonette 01-02-2011 06:12 AM

Yeah Mene does have that nasty little policy...hmm.

Ah, I'm moving, not making a movie, though, I imagine it would be an incredible film if I were to make one. haha

I live in New York, and we got like, two feet of snow. ;=; it has been a horrendous four days.

And just today, there was some obscene propane leak, and ah...what was it? Like some 900 odd homes were evacuated, so it has just been atrocious by me.

sarofset 01-02-2011 06:15 AM

Ah the wonders of large cities. lol. I'm sorry. I hope things go better for you now.

Les Mignonette 01-02-2011 06:42 AM

Not even! *gasp* I live in the suburbs~ totally madness. which is shocking.

sarofset 01-03-2011 12:31 AM

The policy involving violence is that you put up a warning on the first page, and I think in the thread title. Also I believe it refers to gore, as opposed to people getting beat on. I'll check, and so should you real quick.
