Just saw this post.
What I do is I change my avatar's gender, then select the darkest skin color and save. Then I switch back. But after that you can't change your skin color darker or your eyes, because it will erase the "eyeliner."

Make sure that you change the eyes to the color and shape you want after you save the skin color change though. You can "dye" your lips white, black, brown or grey using the same technique. It's a really simple glitch.
