Personally, I love spicy food. Especially "spicy mayonaise" aka the spicy sauce found on sushi, omg, delicious! But it burns so bad. And yet, it feels soooooo good.

But I've totally bitten right into things that were wayyy too spicy, or at least more spicy than I expected it to be, and it's a little jarring and shocking.

I moved this to GD for you. :D

I love spicy food. It's rare that I eat something that I find too spicy. I especially love spicy vegetable soup and spice rice dishes.

I'm not too fond of Cajun food, but there are some spicy foods that I like. Also that New Orleans creole seasoning is really good 8D, I love adding it to omelets, it tastes amazing (also on chicken and a few other things). But I'm more into things that taste sweet than spicy :3

Thank you Sizzla and I guess a lot of people must like spicy food then.

My parents are both part Sri Lankan, and my dad especially loves his spicy food. He'll often grab a green chilli out of the fridge and cut a wedge of cheese and eat the chilli and cheese together. When I was younger and dad used to work in an office, he used to always have little green chillis (the hot ones) in his shirt pocket and he'd just eat them on their own >.<
Dad's always done most of the cooking, he can't do non-spicy food, so I expect everything he makes to be spicy lol I'm more surprised when it's not spicy.
As long as it's dry and spicy, I'm good though. I wouldn't eat a raw chilli out of choice, but I do quite enjoy it as a flavouring.

I'm kind of intolerant to curry powder, so I have to avoid that, I have a very good sense of smell luckily, so I'm pretty good at avoiding it most of the time, but sometimes I have a bad nose day and they get past me... Then I end up with horrible stomach cramps.

Quarender 12-24-2010 09:51 PM

I love spicy food. Lol! I always have to have tabasco with my eggs (or siracha > .>) I just can't take something that sits in my mouth forever and is spicy... I like the kind that is like BAM, then gone. You know what I mean?

and honestly, I've never heard of spicy vegetable soup. :O It must be kinda tasty. Lol.

sailor star rainbow 12-24-2010 10:03 PM

@Ebil I never had any thing with curry powered before. yet stomach cramps are no fun at all even I know that.

@Quarender My mom likes her food spicy and she with put mild Salas on her egg's. is not sure if I spelled the word right oh well. yet I like my food mild spicy so the heat of the spiciness dose not hurt my tongue as much.

Quarender 12-24-2010 10:05 PM

Salsa? Lol. Yeah. I think Huevos Rancheros has salsa on it... I'm not sure because with 'morning food' I just shovel it in... so lady like. :D

But I do agree with you about the spicy thing.... I like sweet food the best. :D I mean, 'cause what's better than desserts and sugar?!?! Nothing!

Polarisld33 12-28-2010 04:30 PM

I always have the opposite problem: things I think will be spicy aren't. I absolutely love spicy food and most of the time, I get let down. I think Wendy's and McDonald's shouldn't have the right to call any of their chicken "spicy" because it isn't. It's good, but not spicy. I've surprised waiters at mexican restaurants with the amount of spicy I like...

Codette 12-28-2010 05:51 PM

I love spices, I hate spicy. Something about burning my tastebuds off for the 2nd time in my life just fails to appeal to me.

yeah, I was 3 eating super hot salsa... that was interesting...

anyways, my mom got me this honey bourbon chicken sub from Quizno's one day and yeah, burned my tongue. Was not fun...

The only 'spicy' thing I really like are chicken tacos. you make normal tacos, except when you pan fry the chicken strips you pour like an entire bottle of Buttermilk ranch, and mix it with normal taco seasoning. You mix it until its all mixed together, and the chicken is cooked. It's wonderful. Spicy but wonderful ^.^

Sho-Shonojo 12-28-2010 08:44 PM

I was eating sushi one time and I grabbed the piece that had been sitting next to the wasabi. Man was the spicy! I never eat wasabi so it was a real shocker. They were even separated by one of those decorative leaf... things and the spicy still managed to get through.

Ew.

sailor star rainbow 12-28-2010 08:48 PM

I have tried wasabi peas before they were so gross tasting yuck.

@Syraannabelle I never had a chicken taco before yet I'm sure my mom. would like it I can't stand ranch salad dressing Dijon for me thanks.

Draciolus 12-29-2010 02:47 AM

Its hard for me to find a spicy that is too spicy for me. I think Ive only found one, and that was a hot sauce called "Kriptonite". Its good, but when I tried it, I had a chip, and someone had put it in a bowl, so I dipped the chip 2/3 in, and tasted nothing but spicy. Though, it didnt help that right after I out it in my mouth I decided to take a drink from my beer...which is anyone has figured out/heard alcohol increases the heat from spicy food....and beer is the worst for this. >.>

TunaFishSalad 12-29-2010 04:03 AM

I'm really sensitive to spicy food too!
It's horrible because I also happen to be asian, and alot of the foods are spicy, so even if I try avoid them, eventually one will look innocent enough, and then BAM!
Burning tongue syndrome >n>

sailor star rainbow 12-29-2010 04:09 AM

Oh don't I know it and living around New Orleans there is spicy food. all over the hole state sometimes it's hard to chose something to eat. I once had a spicy pickle at a school dance by mistake I had ask for a dill pickle. the teacher mess up giving me the spicy one dang that pickle hurt my tongue.

Bambii! 12-30-2010 02:43 PM

I ADORE SPICY FOOD but sometimes some food looks "meh maybe its tangy " but i put it in my mouth and its like O.O'' like cock sauce (its a chinese hot sauce) covered chicken tenders, ohh its yummy but jeez my tongue feels like its gonna fall off XDD

Austera 12-31-2010 02:34 AM

I actally really love spicy food, but I do have a "traumatic" experience xD

Once, in a family dinner, I got some sausage on my plate, and I was wondering if it was spicy, cause I LOVE spicy sausages... then after eating some I came to the conclusion they weren't, and just kept eating without a worry.

Then I just put this piece in my mouth and all of a sudden it was seriously BURNING! Like, it was supposed to be spiced up, but ALL the pepper that was supposed to be distributed ended up in the same piece >__< ...that was not nice lol.

XxA_Wistful_InsanityxX 01-03-2011 10:26 AM

Even with my tongue pierced it's still severely sensitive to spices. I'm such a wimp when it comes to spicy food, even too much pepper bothers me horrendously. I have to get on my Brother about it when he cooks..I don't like cooking very often and my family does those Spicy Southern dishes and on top of all that I have Acid Reflux disease so I just stay away from anything spicy period.

Demoncat 01-03-2011 08:34 PM

I have a really sensitive tongue so spicy food is a no-no for me. If someone adds the slightest spice to some sort of food I'll be sweating since I REALLY can't handle spicy food. The only foods that I can think of is chili and pasta, those tend to be spicy to me. :/

Genocide inc 01-03-2011 08:42 PM

i love spicy food, but only to an extent. I hate when something is so spicy i have to drink something after every bite.

Glitter Golgotha 01-03-2011 09:18 PM

I'm not very fond of spicy food in general, but some of it is very good. I make it a point to know what I'm eating before I do, so no surprises as of yet. Some things have, however, been a lot more spicy than expected--like some seafood dish my mom made years ago. It was painful, but still tasty... Too bad it was hot enough to make the flavor difficult to detect after a while. > n>
