*stuffs the strange marinated shrimp up your nose*

Thats what you get for pinching my cheeks and calling me a cutie!

*shakes fist at*

In other news, i got my bbq assembled and running tonight. Its looking good! ^_^
Smells bad though, still got that 'new bbq' smoke about it while its burning off all the stuff they spray on it to keep it from rusting etc.

Heading to the shops tonight to get some stuffs to hopefully make some burgers on it.

WherededIGo 06-01-2012 06:29 AM

Wood!
I had a good steak sandwich today.
And sausage and bread!

Woodlandnymph 06-01-2012 06:49 AM

Heh. I couldn't help it Droopy. But, if I was there in person, I wouldn't have pinched your cheeks, don't worry.

I would have squished them like someone's Great Aunt Mildred or something

I guess we both lose in that visual. You the litter girl and me the old lady....

Also nice! Am jealous of both of your food times. I ate nothing grilled or delicious today. But, I have some bratwurst calling my name in the freezer. Maybe Saturday :D

Drop Bear 06-01-2012 06:57 AM

The woman comments were because ive kinda got myself a GF now too. Well, not kinda, DO have one. But yeah, according to her, a couple of women that i thought were friends, turns out theyre actually into me so ive got to dissuade them from being interested. BUT (heres the complication) we havent told anyone that we're dating yet, so i cant use the 'im taken' line to do it.

Oooohhhh! Thanks for reminding me WIG! Thats what we need! Bread and stuffs to cook for this damned house warming tomorrow.

*starts making list*

Tomorrow shall be a good day! ^_^ Looking forward to it. We get an out door dining set too from my mates GF!

OK, time to head to the shops and get some stuffs, then coming back before a mate comes round tonight. ^_^

EDIT:
Woodster, you and Linny are TOTALLY old ladies in young lady bodies!

WherededIGo 06-01-2012 07:11 AM

But it must suck not being able to use the excuse.

Drop Bear 06-01-2012 11:25 AM

I dont know... I just picture the two of you being nana's at 30. Sitting around knitting on the weekends in the park looking at the birds and gossiping and such...

And cheers WIG! Its a hell of a surprise for me, certainly wasnt expecting this to happen!

WherededIGo 06-01-2012 11:36 AM

XD
Poor bear. As long as you remember the bread you'll be fine :D

Drop Bear 06-01-2012 11:39 AM

We've got bread. 2 loaves. plenty of snags, some steak too, sauces, and disposable cups, plates, and cutlery. ^_^
Winning!

Cooked on the BBQ tonight, hamburger patties. They tasted alright. Not sure if they were supposed to taste better or not, but they were eatable. Housemate also introduced me to a new condiments mix too! Mustard AND tomato sauce (ketchup?). Doesnt sound appealing, but trust me, it works!

OnYourGoat 06-01-2012 12:48 PM

I wish I liked barbecues...

just have to say, I adore Studio Ghibli movies as well:eager: I think the first ones that I watched were Spirited Away and Kiki's Delivery service, so they're stuck as my favourites now XD

Bear: :O grats on your lady, now I demand you tell us more Sir :eager:

*is shot for being overly curious*

WherededIGo 06-02-2012 11:02 AM

The first ones I watched were Spirited away and Howls moving castle.

Kiki's delivery service is one of the last ones I've watched.

ah okay, I loved Howl's moving castle as well, but I've yet to read the book, I should do so, soon then :)

what did you think of Kiki's delivery service?

WherededIGo 06-02-2012 12:06 PM

The book is so good :squee:

I didn't mind it too much. It's not one of my favourites though.

Drop Bear 06-03-2012 08:39 AM

@ Woody: Yes, yes it does. SO much worse! Reminds me of a joke though:

Quote:

Three old women, sitting on a park bench knitting sweaters for their soon to be born grandkids. First lady is knitting a pink sweater and says 'I hope mines not a boy or hes going to look strange in pink!' The second is knitting a blue sweater and says 'I hope mines not a girl, because im making this one for a boy!' The third woman looks at the other two and says 'I dont care what mine is, i just hope its got two heads, because i cant sew for shit!'
@ Linny: You two would have to be living together and be 50, with about a dozen cats before id ever consider calling you that!

As for the womanface that im seeing, theres a pretty funny back story to how we met and such:

Almost a year ago, i was out with mates, and met a mates GF for the first time that night at the pub we were at. One woman in the place grabbed my eye, but i was certain she had a BF and i had no intention of approaching her. My mates GF had other ideas and got my number off a friend (without me knowing!) after i wouldnt give it to her, so she could write it and my name on a coaster and give it to her for me. Next thing, this woman approaches me and says shes flattered but not interested because shes got a BF and so on. She wasnt going to keep my number but my friends GF slipped it into her handbag all the same while she was telling me this. So i dismissed the entire encounter from mind after that night, knowing id not hear from her again, but thoroughly impressed with how direct and honest and open she was with letting me down, she handled the whole thing really well.

Anywho, fast forward to several months later and im out at a metal club talking to mates, getting to know new friends and stuff, and i meet this bloke and his missus who is really pretty and i dont think anything else of her really, just a friend. Then i find out that theyve split up again, and theres all sorts of bullshit going on for a while but im still friends with both of them. Then it sort of occurs to me that maybe, if shes single now, i can make a move possibly and see what happens, totally expecting to get knocked back. So i tried flirting a little and didnt see any sort of response so i just let it go. No biggie.

So theres a gig on one night and im dropping my mate back to his parents place and he tells me that apparently, this chick reckons that we've met prior to meeting her through people at the metal club, but ive got no idea when. After pressing him for details, he tells me that she seems to think i gave her my number on a coaster. The amount of times ive given a chick my number just randomly I can count on one hand, but i still cant place it. Racking my brains and getting more info, i finally piece together that it must have been her at the pub that night when my mates GF gave out my number. She remembers my two tone hair, but the thing is, my FB name that everyone knew me by, and my real name, are rather different. So knowing me as Hue, and the coaster with my name being different, she thought it wasnt me... until she learned my real name.

So i talked to her about it that night when i got home, which was half way through moving house by then, and she ended up coming over and telling me she liked me and stuff, which blew me away because i didnt think she was at all!

Pretty much since then, we've been seeing each other!

WherededIGo 06-03-2012 08:52 AM

The joke is funny XD

Interesting! Looks like you have some luck!

Woodlandnymph 06-05-2012 12:13 AM

But but but...We totally should/will be living together, along with our friend Panda when we are 50, husbands or no, with a dozen cats (a piece).

And that's awesome. It's kinda how I feel when I am sewing sometimes. XD

Cuuuuuute story! Glad you got yerself a ladyfriend then Droopy!!!

Drop Bear 06-07-2012 01:03 PM

Cheers guys and gals! Its hard adjusting myself to tune into another person so completely though, its a little scary even! But im enjoying the challenge thus far at least!

In other news, handed the keys in to my old place the other day. Had a rather frustrating day though. The Op Shop across the street agreed theyd like to take my awesome bunk bed off me for nothing when i could do it on the wednesday for them. Got there wednesday and had them come up and inspect it first and again, said they wanted it. So i dismantled it all, then carried it all down stairs and around to the shop on my own and as i dropped off my final load, the boss says 'Umm, i dont think i want that actually... can you take it back out please?' At that point, i took the slats and bolts that id just brought down, and walked out and put them in my car. Then i raged a little silently for a moment and resisted the urge to beat the woman around the head with her own (possibly recently removed) arms... I had nowhere else i could put the bed, it HAD to go that day, i was counting on that. I tried going to other op shops to get them to take it but none would except one down the other end of town, and all they said was theyd look at it. If they didnt take it, i was going to be doing a trip to the dump... and then this woman said thats all she would be doing with it too because apparently, a perfectly good mattress and frame with desk underneath wouldnt sell... So after some FB advice from people, i left it there for her to deal with. If the other lot took it, good, if not, the chick couldnt sell it unless she made some new slats and got bolts for it first! Otherwise, she was paying the dump fees for it. I was super pissed id carried the WHOLE thing down there to have them change their minds at the last second.
I didnt feel so bad though, when one of the other op shops told me shes not a non-profit organisation, she runs that business for profit. Had it been a non-profit organisation, id have taken it back.

Ok, so thats my little rant out now. Time for me to get some sleeps before i start sorting through all the stuff in my shed tomorrow and then begin setting up my art studio!
