Really, its not that cold here in winter that you can get away with it if you dont mind cold so much too.
Off to watch my workmates band again tonight, probably some more headbanging pics to come i hope! |
Bah. I'm beat. I just had a long day in the sun on the Hudson River with friends :D
Now I have to get rest for work tomorrow though.......yaaaaah. Always a catch with fun. |
Oh dear, there will be some VERY interesting pictures come out from this gig last night... And some cool video too by the sounds of it!
Hope you had a good time in the sun Woodster! I wish it was warm and sunny here already! Not hot, just warm. :) |
I did. We played frisbee and wiffle ball and had ice cream and blueberry lemonade and stuff and junk. :)
I think it was in the lower 90s today with a little bit of humidity. And yesss! We want interesting pictures! :) I need a good night out on the town!! Gotta see when my friend's boy's band is playing. |
What on earth is this 'wiffle ball' thing you spake of?
|
:D You guys must have a version of wiffle ball:
http://shop.ctstore.com/store/pc/catalog/wiffle90D.jpg It's like baseball but with a plastic (typically yellow) bat and a plastic ball that looks like this: http://www.londonwiffleball.com/Images/wiffle-ball.jpg I guess calling it wiffle ball is a colloquial thing, since the company that makes them is in my state. So, you can play wiffle ball without having to lug around a glove and the heavy bats that goes along with baseball/softball. |
we call it that in maine too, woodster
|
You guys must have something similar.....Cricket with wiffle ball bats or something. ;)
|
Interesting, I've never heard of wiffle ball before now.
|
I recognise the name.... But not the equipment.
|
bong?
|
Lol. A bong?
No no no. *Scratches head* It's fun! It makes playing a quick game of ball easy. Though, I much prefer whipping out my bat and softballs to play with. (Get the giggles out Droopy. I know..........sounds dirty ;) ) I dunno. Do you guys play anything special on a picnic? I love playing frisbee, wiffle ball, badminton, uh....we were playing cards against humanity this time, but thats not your usual outdoor game. :P |
People go on picnics? I never do. It's always raining.
|
Ahh, i think i understand the concept there Woody. Ive never played it, but i think theres several 'light weight' versions of various sports that can be found here, usually plastic/foam etc, so theres not really a 'wiffle ball' exact sport, its just a 'kids version' of the usual sport i guess?
As far as playing games when out, im not a fan of sports myself. Unless its drinking maybe... I think im OK at that sport! And yes, i got the giggles when you made that statement there Woodster... you know me too well lol! Hows everyone been anyways? |
Yes, you drink and that inspires you to do silly things like play croquet in an open field during a lightning storm. Hurray! :D
And I try and cater to my audience ;) I loooooove picnics Cbear. Perfect excuse to be outside. |
I would probably love picnics if every single field or park in my area weren't a bog. :( Sometimes my friends and I take spontaneous fish and chip meals in the park though, so I guess that counts.
|
Live near the capital Cbear? I heard it is super rainy there. Same with where my brother lives:
http://www.wildnatureimages.com/3000.../C6CT3620..jpg Right on the mouth of the Columbia River. If you see towards the horizon, that's the Pacific Ocean 9 miles away. So, a LOT of rain. I think they have 193 average rainy days (including a wee spurt of rain here and there during the day), and 38 clear ones..... The rest being partly cloudy, etc. |
I live on the South Island Woody! The capital is on the north!
|
I know it's on the bottom of the north island. I guess I didn't know which one you were on though >.<
when you mentioned the rain, i just recalled what someone told me about wellington being uber rainy. |
Wellington is more known for its wind, I thought. I live on the west coast of the south Island.
|
Ah don't know. I've never stepped on either island (saaaaaadly. NZ would kinda be a dream trip!) but an ex of mine was from Wellington and he said that it was pretty rainy.
Man. I would have LOVED to be there during the filming of The Hobbit, being such a Tolkien nut. |
Oh my gawd. You know those huge rocks and grassy areas that are in the LOTR movies? (Gap of Rohan, if we want to get technical.) I drive past those whenever I want to go to the city. They're so cool.
|
You....drive by....the Gap of Rohan??? Buuh.
So jealous. Not even funny. <3 <3 |
It's pretty freaking cool, because the same area holds the battlefield from the first Narnia movie.
|
Yah. You live in Middle Earth and Narnia. Shush your face :talk2hand:
;) I kid. But seriously, that's awesome.... Maaaaaaan. I live where they filmed...Uh part of War of the Worlds and Revolutionary Road.....Not nearly as awesome. |
