If I ever can find the money - I have so many trips I want to take - I'll definitely be coming back down again! ^_^ Finding a job may be key right now, I don't have my boys this summer! [gonk] Fine, I can actually go job hunting this year, I suppose. [illgetu]

I hear good things about jobs, hence why im looking for a new one!

Also, gave up on the double sided card. Went single sided because i couldnt be arsed! :P

I don't have the boys because they are moving and they don't have the money to pay me, plus they are starting to get old and they are moving to a place with a pool so the pool will watch them. ;) Oh well. Thanks I hate job hunting! I've never actually had to hunt too much for jobs in the past. xD But I am limited with places to work down here... hmmm, I can do this though! :P

Aww bummer that they're moving. Could you perhaps ask their mum for a refference for all the times you watched them over the past summers? Maybe you could put a notice up in your town and another family with small kids could use your child minding skills?

They're actually moving closer to us, funnily enough. But I know that she's fine with me using her as a reference for other work. She's already told me that, and she does feel bad, and I know that the boys want me to watch them again - they asked me point blank if I was going to be watching them.

At the same time, I am not sure if I want to watch kids - ever since that whole fiasco with the neighbors next door - you remember that right - where he got upset with me because I was late when a set time was set at "He'll be there at blah blah blah-ish time..." and I was 15 minutes past that time, and he lectured me... Ever since that happened, I've felt iffy about watching kids. D: Like I question myself, and I know I shouldn't I'm just still struggling on getting over that whole thing and even if it isn't with them (I've since asked them not to ask me to watch her, because as much as I love that little cutie - the one who got that quirky bear that mum bought - it just throws me for loops because I am afraid I'm going to mess up and he's going to chew me back out again), I still second guess myself.

I may see if a restaurant that opened again - it's a seasonal job - is hiring and see if I can work there? It'd be better than nothing, and hey, I've done restaurant work before. :P

Yeah I remember that guy, what a jerk face, so I can totally understand your reluctance there. Hmm a resturant could be good, especially if you tell them you can sign! If someone with a hearing impairment comes it they might be thrilled to have someone there who can understand sign. Maybe there is something around that needs a translater? I'll keep my fingers crossed for you though! :D

Yeah, he is! D: But their daughter is so stinking cute! She signs, did I tell you that? =] Oh, that's a good idea, bring that up! You never know when it'll come in handy. =] Thanks! I really probably start actively searching, I've been more "Oh, this is fun. I can be lazy." But money would be nice. haha! Money for fun trips and stuff! :P Get money, spend money! xD LOOOL!

I work at my local mcdonalds and I plan to travel to Sydney I think it is. Not quite sure, it's for an activity I do outside of school though

Drop Bear 05-13-2013 10:50 AM

Im hoping to get into something a bit more involved, Pheonix. I want to get into forklift work, so stuff like freight management etc would be good, though every bloke and their dog has forklift tickets now days so its fairly competitive for those positions. I also applied for my first ever sales position the other day. Its paint sales at a store nearby, but ive got some relevant experience and interests so I'd consider it since its not just sales but hands on skills too. Other than that, just operator jobs. Stuff where im not dealing with customers really because I can see just one bad customer and I'd do something shitty to them and lose my job lol! Its why i avoid retail and fast food etc all together!

And conga rats on the job Catchy! Maccas, although its a bit of a slave job i hear, is good for a reference when youre just starting out. Means youll work hard and such when employers see that.

Catch Me If You Can 05-14-2013 12:19 AM

I have to agree, it's just a starter job till I am old enough to do what I want. Still two more years till that date comes forward though

Lol totally get it with the customers, the hubby is exactly the same, we drives the delivery truck for a local steel joint because that way he can avoid customers at all possible cost for the same reason. Though sometimes he tends to come home with some forehead slapping worthy stories about some of the places he's had to deliver to....all I can say there is "Oh Boy" [facepalm] But you're right though it does seem like everyone has their forkflit tickets these days...admittedly I am still wondering how some of those people got it...they're scary on those things.
How'd you go with the local store you applied for, heard anything back yet or still waiting. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Ahh cool. You Maccas workers need a medal sometimes I swear with all the crap you probably have to put up with from some customers.
A trip to Sydney sounds good though be it for fun or for a outside school activity...I haven't been there in years though and would like to go back one day, it could be fun!

Catch Me If You Can 05-15-2013 12:58 AM

Yeah, the amount of stuff we have to put up with. Incorrect orders, angry people, angry managers, bottles being thrown at us. Its a hard and demanding job, but I love it

Drop Bear 05-15-2013 02:09 AM

Well i hope you do well with it Catchy!

By the way, I dont know if any of you guys are much into reading, particularly of the fantasy genre, but if you'd like to read something ive written and if you really feel like it, give some feed back, that would be appreciated? If not thats all cool, not everyone is into reading and i get that. But anyways, clicker the link and read up about my Original Role Play Character. Well, his birth anyways.

It's lovely but I have always love the outback. At the moment though it's currently freezing with rain, looking forward to the rain stopping for a bit so I can get some washing done. I've lived here for about 7 years now and love the dessert area and the people.

@Dropbear - Hello and thank you.
