Ling, its a pretty sweet book, and a great start to the rest of his book series too. Absolutely amazing writer, but sadly I've not got even a poofteenth of his talent! :(

Oh nice one Bearzy! Thats pretty cool, I'd love to have one of those! I loved running my hands over it when I bought it!

Bearzy 10-12-2013 02:41 AM

They're so soft!

Drop Bear 10-20-2013 05:48 AM

So I did testing today for an apprenticeship. Hopefully it all goes well and I get a job outta it. Hopefully...

Also Bearzy: what is that back ground your avi has with the lava? And what wings are those too?

Bearzy 10-20-2013 06:58 AM

The wings are from Hawtsome, and the background is a combination of lava from the new CI, a space background from Squishy Space Protector and cloud from Basement Dweller.

Drop Bear 10-22-2013 12:44 AM

DAMN! That looks even more bad-ass than when I saw it before! Just saw the new CI in the store... may have bought 4 of them haha!

Bearzy 10-22-2013 02:48 AM

I bought 3 [lol]. I always buy 3, one for me, one for the mule, one for the marketplace.

Drop Bear 10-22-2013 03:21 AM

I usually get 2, one for me, one for Ron. In this case, Ron has plenty!

Bearzy 10-22-2013 04:03 AM

Ron? Is that your mule?

Drop Bear 10-22-2013 04:25 AM

Nope. Have you never heard the saying "Saving it for Ron"?

As in saving it for "Late-R-on" later on. Its like English cockney rhyming slang i think? jellysundae: could probably tell us more about it, her being one of those whiney pom's and all.

Bearzy 10-22-2013 09:20 AM

I'd never heard it before. You sure it's not just some weird Aussie thing?

jellysundae 10-22-2013 11:41 AM

OI! Shut your mouth! [illgetu]

You're as bad as the Norwegians on Inso's other site, who all assume I speak with a London accent. [evil]

Anyway, never heard that phrase before. [lol]

Sleepy Anarchy 10-22-2013 11:47 AM

Hey, it's definitely not an aussie thing!

Ling 10-22-2013 11:57 AM

I certainly haven't heard of that use of 'Ron' before. But then again I was surprised when a Australian girl in the country greeted "G'day, How're ya doin' mate!" So I'm probably not as exposed to Aussie slang and culture as much as some.

Bearzy 10-22-2013 12:29 PM

Maybe it's just a Droopy thing, and he's gone bonkers?

Drop Bear 10-22-2013 10:27 PM

[rofl] Oh that was a WAY better bite than I was expecting from you Jelly! BWAHAHAHAHAHA! [lol]
Also, I dont think Ive actually heard you speak, so I'm not sure what accent you'd have, but it'd definitely be English of some variation, unless you dont originate from there?

That was a guess where the phrase may have come from, I do know its mostly older people that tend to say it, but its not too common really.

And Bearzy, I cant have gone bonkers! I already was/am! [lol]

Ling, if you come up this way, you'll hear it pretty often. Bogan town this place lol!

Ling 10-23-2013 09:25 AM

The concept of bogans is amusing, I once did a bogan test of sorts...which calculated what percentage of bogan the test taker is...I'll have to look for it again. [XD]

Droopy has a fun-tastic accent, super Aussie typical. I'm sure he doesn't think so, but it's true. I feel like there's more variation in British accents than there is in Australia. (OH MAN, Let that debate begin!!!!!)

Though, I am proud of myself. I can tell a NZ accent from an Aussie one. Which, is saying a lot since most Americans would scratch their heads in confusion telling those two apart here. I'm also good with British accents. I made this Newcastlian (is that what they call em?) almost kiss my feet for being able to pinpoint where he was from. I guess that's the first time since he's moved to the states that someone knew where he was from, aside from the general 'being English' assumption.

Bearzy 10-24-2013 02:33 AM

British accents can change between towns, can't they? They're crazy varied. And there are different Aussie accents as well, but I'm not sure I can tell which is which. (I would argue that there are differences in NZ accents too, actually.)

Woodlandnymph 10-24-2013 02:37 AM

I'm sure there are tons of variations in Aussie an Kiwi accents, but damned if I could tell. Internally, since I can pick which is which between the two like I said.

Yah. Within towns/cities the accents vary too...and then education/class division separate some of the posh/proper ones out too.

Whereas I am all SUPER typical American flat accent. I guess some people could guess where I live according to my accent. But it's not nasal like certain NYC accents, nor is it Bostonian in the least.... And yet, I live right smack between those two really thickly accented places.

Drop Bear 10-27-2013 05:19 AM

I didnt think there were that many variations on Aussie ones. English and American ones are considerably more diverse I think, English in particular.

Good work on picking between kiwi and Aussie though woodster! Not many people can do that, even some aussies haha!

Linnea 10-27-2013 03:55 PM

no one can tell where i'm from [t2h]

and i like talking to droopykins, makes me wanna be an aussie too!

Woodlandnymph 10-27-2013 07:48 PM

I can!! Though, one time I asked this guy if he was from Maine (it seriously sounded like it) and he got super bummed cause he was born and raised in Boston. He really sounded like a Mainer...

I'll go be your neighbor in NZ then cause I wanna live down there and watch rugby all the time!

Linnea 10-28-2013 12:15 AM

bostonians don't ever want to be mistaken for mainers lol and i know the reverse is true as well

Bearzy 10-28-2013 02:02 AM

Yeah, come to NZ Woody! We're way better than the Aussies.

Woodlandnymph 10-28-2013 03:12 AM

Heh. I know Linny. I knew I made a huge mistake the moment I said it, and his face changed.

Hah. Alright Bearzy! Don't be shouting that too loud. Droopy might come and getcha.
