THAT GUY HAS A LITTLE ORANGE HOUSE! [:O]

Woodlandnymph 11-08-2013 03:47 AM

We grew big pumpkins too one year, but I think the biggest was only 90-110 pounds or so (still huge). Not good for eating really.....and you kinda have to murder all the other pumpkins on the same vine, so just that one will get the nutrients....and put a burlap sack or something under it while it grows so you can move it later. Anyways. I wish I knew why they ever bothered breeding gigantic ones...aside from making a squishy rot worthy home.

Bearzy 11-08-2013 04:04 AM

For the sake of awesome carving?

Woodlandnymph 11-08-2013 05:38 AM

There is that. Man imagine all the horrible guts in those big ones. We did end up carving our big one...but I didn't have to scoop it out.

Bearzy 11-09-2013 08:13 AM

(I spent like 5 minutes waiting for a picture to load just there)

Linnea 11-09-2013 04:47 PM

[rofl] sorry!! nope it was just an elongated pause purely for show

Ling 11-10-2013 02:55 AM

hehe, that's funny Bearzy...

Actually there was an image of Tony Abbott with the slogan "The NBN under Abbott”...and the image was deliberately made to look like it was partially loading...

Bearzy 11-10-2013 02:58 AM

There's a text post on tumblr that just says "me when the reaction image won't load" and under it is the top half of a picture.

Drop Bear 11-10-2013 03:34 AM

Hahahaha both good pictures!

Also, Linny, my mother isnt an orange house!

... shes greenish, with a hint of blue... [:P]

Linnea 11-10-2013 02:35 PM

Drop Bear 11-11-2013 01:34 AM

Thank you! *bows*

Also, Woodlandnymph: I found this, proving that not all of our Australian animals are poisonous and trying to kill you! Some are cute and fuzzy! ^_^

SO uh....Those descriptions don't really inspire confidence. Cute and fuzzy my aunt fanny. Gallop? Size of my hand?![cry]

We had one at the first place i moved into. He lived near the man hole for about 3 weeks, almost without moving. He was cool, so we called him 'Fang'. Im not sure why, he doesnt exactly have fangs, theyre more pincers i think? I dunno. Anyways, he was about 3 or 4 inches in span, about the size of my palm, but he was cool. I'd say "Hi Fang!" as I was walking up the steps into the house usually.

But that all changed when I woke up one day and he was on the vertical blinds next to my bed near my head looking at me. It was at this point that I decided our relationship was going in a direction that I was no longer comfortable with. He apparently wanted to share my living and sleeping space, which I wasnt too thrilled about. I asked him to move out, but he ignored my requests, and thats when things got physical. I took a glass to him. I admit, it was harsh, but then I got the paper too, and put it under that glass and picked it up and took it all outside. Then I threw him over the back fence into the scrub behind the house and that was the last I ever saw of Fang.

Nice guy until he wanted to get all creepy and watch me while I slept!

Woodlandnymph 11-11-2013 02:15 AM

Hahaha. And that's when our relationship took a turn. It's always when you catch them watching you sleep....

And that my friend, is waaay more humane than I get with spiders.

Ling 11-11-2013 02:18 AM

The last time I saw a huntsman it was sitting on the top of a window curtain the same colour as it, I couldn't see it at first even when someone pointed it out to me....without telling me what they were pointing at. It didn't move much the entire time we were there...

That description is hilarious though.

Woodlandnymph 11-11-2013 02:32 AM

We get spiders that are pretty big in my area. And even though their bite isn't a big deal, I always get a reaction. >.< Since it's getting cold, they like to hide in our wood pile and surprise me when I bring it in to the fire.

Drop Bear 11-17-2013 02:47 AM

Ahh to have a combustion fire again! I miss those things! So damned efficient and warm and awesome!

Woodlandnymph 11-18-2013 01:27 AM

Come on down and have some hot cocoa here by the fiyah!

Bearzy 11-18-2013 03:22 AM

It's too hot for hot cocoa! It's 20 degrees on a day where the high was meant to be 18! And I imagine Australia is worse!

Ling 11-18-2013 05:28 AM

I don't know about elsewhere but it's 31 today here...glad to not need to go outdoors.

Bearzy 11-18-2013 07:57 AM

Ew. It almost never reaches the 30s here, and it's only November. How do you even survive January? I would just turn into a puddle.

Drop Bear 11-18-2013 03:48 PM

Answer to that is pools, fans and air con lol! Failing that, get nekkid!

Sometimes I do the last bit while doing one of the others anyways... but im part nudist! [lol]

Also Woodlandnymph: I found this piece today, thought youd get a lol:
Things Are A Little Different In Australia

Woodlandnymph 11-18-2013 04:31 PM

20c? So that's 68f. That's not too bad. It gets pretty warm here in the summer, but since our weather likes to change drastically, it's not a sure thing ever. We get humid summers, and they're so awful. I'd much prefer dry ones. 31 is 88f...... so, I'll give yah that. That's starting to get hot for sure. It is around 15 C here today. Which is really warm this time of year. But there was a warm front that pushed through. tonight it'll drop to about 1 C.

Oh man Droopy, that's glorious. Especially that first one. XD And the "Start ya bastard" stuff. There's no way we'd find that on our shelves. Which, makes me sad. And that last gif >.< This some how actually makes me want to visit, even though it means sudden death [;)]

Ling 11-19-2013 01:38 AM

Drop Bear, those are hilarious! But that map one with the floods and fires is scarily accurate at times...
