*Is debating what to make for an early upper..* |
Probably right there Sass... (Totally calling you that now, because that's all you do, sass me.)
Anyway, I have to go write, I am SO behind on my NaNo, and it's already nine thirty. |
Yay, people in my time zone! Though I'm not Australian...
Edit: I should say, sort of in my time zone. |
Hey Scholar! Where abouts you from?
Bearzy, would you have it any other way? :P Nuggets, of course! Odd is interesting, and interesting is good! |
Have fun writing Carezeebear :)
As Assassin ha aid, where do you live Scholar? And yes, interesting is good  So, what have you been up to? :XD It's been a while since we have chat. |
Indeed it has nuggets. For the most part, ive been working and going to concerts/gigs and they gym most nights during the week. Slowly starting to see results there finally!
I spotted a job ad in the paper today for camp counsellors at US/Canada summer camps for kids. Thinking of going and doing that because its all paid for and stuff. Would be a lot of fun and one hell of an interesting experience i think. Theres an info session about it in a couple of nights that ill go check out i think, see what i can find out, whether its something that i could see myself doing. If i can, ill try and travel around a bit afterwards maybe, because the job is for about 3months i think? |
Good luck on the job Assassin!
Guess this means the mohawk is going get to chopped off? :O Also, I'm having fun listening to this :XD |
Yeah ive seen that clip before mate, its pretty funny!
And no, neither the beard nor the mowhawk are going anywhere! If they dont like it and wont give me a job because of it, thats fine, i dont mind, ill keep doing what i do already anyways! |

That video is what made me interested in trying to play nyan cat on the guitar
Now whenever someone is on my house, I play that song non-stop with the amp volume turned all the way up  And good luck then! Way before I got my job, I had a very hard time finding a job just because most employers didn't like that I kept my hair long. And it sure didn't help much since then, I also had black and blue stripes died into my hair  I had to re-dye the whole thing black a month and a half later because I gave up on finding a place that would hire me as I was. I was only 14, and barely had any experience, so any good jobs that wouldn't care about it were just not available for me >_> Scholar - I'm also in Japan. What region are you in? :D I'm in Chiba. |

And nice to make your acquaintance, McNugget! |
Ahh awesome! Glad to have you in here Scholar! You and Nuggets will have bits and pieces in common then im sure!
Anywho guys, i gotta skoot outta here or ill be late for the gym! Have a good time without me! |
See you later, Assassin!
---------- So, Nuggets, what are you doing in Japan? Born & raised here? |
Nice to meet your acquittance as well Scholar =3
See you later Assassin *Waves good bye* And yes, Scholar, I was born and raised here. You? |
Here on a research trip for my dissertation. I study Japanese film. :)
|
Oooh, cool :D
What kind of film? :XD |
Animated film, specifically... which I have to admit is pretty awesome. I get to watch cartoons for work. :D
How did your English get to be so good? Are your parents expats, or are you half & half, or did you just learn it really well? |
Oh wow. :XD That seem like fun. I wish I had a job like that~
Honestly, I have only recently been learning my English better to speak and type more well and fluently. Though, I always have been perfectly fine with the language, and have learned it well through the years - it is still very hard to learn and remember  What are expats? And I'm actually only a small fraction of Japanese~ |
Ah, sorry -- expats are expatriats, people who choose to live outside their home country for work or other reasons. Not immigrants or emigrants, or refugees, because those terms all imply that there's no freedom of movement between the two countries. Expats would be, say, a diplomat stationed for a long time in a foreign country who winds up raising his family there.
In any case, your English is sugoi! Much better than my Japanese probably is. XD |
Ohhh. I see :XD
And thank you. I try very hard to keep up with the languages I have learned! :D I'm sure you're fine with the speaking of Japanese! |
I think, honestly, that my accent must be pretty good, because whenever I ask for directions, people respond to me as if I must understand a lot better than I do. :D Or is that just the Japanese way, to assume that a foreigner who speaks Japanese understands it really well?
Oh, and you might know the best choice to this question: for hatsumode, is it better to go to the little shrine in my town or to go to a bigger, more famous one? Which is more fun? What would make the better memory? |
Well, I am sure that if you really do sound well, that must be why they do that:yes:
Though, even if someone sounds very foreign, most people would try to talk as best as they can, even if it doesn't seem it. And why not visit both? Both would be nice for anyone. Though, a bigger, more famous one is a lot more traffic of people and visitors, so a smaller, less crowded one might be better if you don't like being surrounded by too much people. |
Visit both? Well, then one would be the real "hatsu"mode, and the other would be a shrine visit. That does sound fun, actually. The festivities last for three days, right? And trains run normally? I don't have a bicycle, so getting to someplace like the city center on foot would be, well, "chotto."
Sorry if I pester you with questions! It's been hard making friends here because my work is kind of lonely. Though I'm at a university, I'm not taking classes or anything that would set up a ready-made group of people to hang out with. |
It is fun. And yes, it is for 3 days~
Though I usually get work days off for the 29th of December through the 3rd of January. And Yes, the trains should run normally. The sub way trains should also work on scheduel~ And it perfectly fine! You are no pestering me :XD |
