W00t! Glad to know you're not bothered. It's hard, online, to know if you're offending someone or not.

The place where I'm living isn't quite the middle of nowhere, "chuutohanpa," as I think it's said in Japanese, but it's mostly families and a lot of old grannies, no tourists at all. It took me a while to get used to the people staring at me, especially the really old men in the shopping street, but I think everyone's had a good stare by now. XD Sometimes I wonder if it's because I'm a foreigner or if it's because I'm rather, er, "well endowed." :P The old men *do* tend to not look at my face...

How long have you been studying English? It starts in elementary school, right?

McNugget 11-21-2011 10:14 AM

I don't get bothered easily :XD
And I am sure within time they won't act so odd near you~
I have white skin and blue/grey eyes, so I definitely look like a foreigner but people get comfortable near me  well, unless they haven't seen me unlike most people in my area. If a stranger sees me, at first they would look at me like I was a foreigner, but then they loose interest~
What does "endowed" mean?
And I have actually been learning since I was 5, from my parents. Some English is taught in the elementary schools; but not much.

scholar 11-21-2011 10:18 AM

Well endowed means having large breasts. It runs in my family. :( Honestly, it's more annoying than anything.

So, your parents speak English natively, then? That's cool, to be brought up bilingual. I always envied my Chinese friends -- where I grew up was only about half Caucasian, the rest from Asia, India, and Latin America -- because they learned two languages.

McNugget 11-21-2011 10:27 AM

Awww :O
Well, that shouldn't be something to hate! A lot girls I know wish they had large breasts!
My mother grew up speaking English Natively, my father didn't. He natively speaks Swedish.
And it is actually very handy to be raised learning more than one language. It becomes very useful :XD

scholar 11-21-2011 10:34 AM

Wow, your family sounds really interesting! European/American ancestry and raised in Japan. A truly global person. :)

So, in the interests of my research, ;) what kinds of movies do you like?

McNugget 11-21-2011 10:41 AM

Well, my mother actually lived in the UK - not America :XD
And I mostly like music related films, or action and horror.
anime is good too though.

scholar 11-21-2011 10:44 AM

I don't understand people who like horror. *shudder* I get scared enough by my own imagination! But most people like horror, so I'm probably just strange. :)

I love love love anime. I don't know why, but I think it's because you can do things in animation that you can't in live-action films, even with the amazing special effects that exist today. Or maybe it's because animation *isn't* reality? There just seems something... oh, magical, about the way that drawings can move and become real. With regular movies, the "reality" is already there, if you know what I mean, and just has to be captured by a camera.

Does any of that make sense? :P

Ling 11-21-2011 10:46 AM

Hello people...where are McNugget and scholar from?

By the way, you both have cool usernames. :D

scholar 11-21-2011 10:50 AM

Hi Ling! McNugget and I are both living in Japan, though I'm from America and here for research. :)

Thanks for the compliment! My username is sometimes rather unfortunately too true, so if I ever start going on too much about random things, feel free to tell me to step away from the lecture podium.

Ling 11-21-2011 10:53 AM

what a coincidence that you are both living in Japan. How are you finding it scholar?

scholar 11-21-2011 10:55 AM

That's actually a really complicated question... There's a lot I like, like the trains which run on-time and the food (oh, the food!), but sometimes there are things that I don't like. And sometimes I'm kinda lonely, since it's been hard to make friends.

Where do you live, Ling?

McNugget 11-21-2011 10:56 AM

Yes, It makes fine sense Scholar
And Hi Ling! =3

Ling 11-21-2011 11:05 AM

I live in Australia. :D

McNugget 11-21-2011 11:06 AM

Cool. How is it like over there? :D

scholar 11-21-2011 11:18 AM

Australia, neat. So you actually belong in this thread, and I'm just a welcomed guest. ;)

McNugget 11-21-2011 11:21 AM

 I too am just a welcomed guest :XD
I always wondered what it is like in Australia. I plan on going there one day just to visit Assassin :XD

That's the best thing about the safe corners of the internet: getting to meet, live, the people you make friends with online. :) I once visited London to meet up with some Harry Potter friends I met through fanfiction.

Drop Bear 11-21-2011 11:47 AM

Hellz yeah Nuggets! Get your skinny butt over here man, but make sure youre 18+ so we can go out drinking n stuff! Hell, if we do this right, i might even come back to Japan with you when you go back, make the most of it!

Scholar, your research sounds freaking awesome! If they stare at you, then theyll sure as hell stare at me! I stand out pretty badly here where i live, and im sure youre quite normal looking in comparison to myself lol!

LINGLING! *tacklehugs* Hows you?

Also, all of you should TOTALLY come to aussie and we should do a big meet up lol!

Ling 11-21-2011 12:02 PM

People say that where I live is pretty boring but I don't mind it, and don't think it'd be THAT boring.

Assassin!!~ How're ya doin' matey?

Drop Bear 11-21-2011 12:12 PM

Im doing well LingLing, tired though so i might crawl into bed and pass out soon i think.

Hows things at your end of the rainbow?

Ling 11-21-2011 12:14 PM

golden (at the end of the rainbow)....just kidding.

Otherwise things are ok.

McNugget 11-21-2011 12:17 PM

Scholar - Yeah! :XD I once met this girl I become friends with on the internet. She looked a bit different from her photos, and admitted to editing the pictures to make herself look prettier, but she was honestly way more pretty to me without the edits~ It was lots of fun to finally meet the person on the other side of the computer screen though :XD
Assassin - You'll have to wait until after January in order to go drinking with me  It sure would be fun if you came back to Japan with me though I'm sure :XD
And don't make fun of my weight! I'm trying to bulk up
Hello Ling~

Drop Bear 11-21-2011 01:02 PM

Good to hear Ling!

Nuggets, thatd be awesome indeedy! And im only messing with ya mate, hell, if i could, id give you some of my excess weight! Im trying to get down to 100kg but i keep sitting around the 104kg mark! Im trying to make my excess into muscle though, but its taking a bit. Still, 3months almost and im seeing results so thats a good sign. What are you doing to bulk up? Maybe i can give you some help?

McNugget 11-21-2011 01:58 PM
