Twain of course couldn't abide anyone as course as himself..... The preceding drivel in no way represents the views of Edgar Allen Poe.

oh yeah?? I'll have to look into that! Hah.

And makes sense that he lived here. Our summers can be quite humid cause we pull in moisture from the sea.

Whenever I find out that there's a regular event or celebration on my birthday I usually find it amusing. I wonder why Jane Austen didn't like the Mississippi boat races...it's strange.

*traipses in* heyo~
I have Diwali (Indian festival of lights) on my birthday often. We end up celebrating Diwali and I don't get to celebrate my birthday which sucks, but then it's like the whole country is celebrating my birthday Diwali style which rocks [sweat]

Woodlandnymph 08-05-2015 07:08 PM

Yeah...maybe she thought boats were cheeky. Hahaha.

I love having events on my birthday. I get Memorial Day weekend around my birthday on occasion so I pretend the parades and fireworks are for me. ;) It is hard to do a celebration with people though, cause they already have their own scheduled...

Hey! Diwali on your birthday? Treats, lights, and fireworks. I can get why you don't want your birthday around such a big celebration, but at the same time....cool!

The only celebration on my b day is international dog biscuit appreciation day. Arf 🐕🐶🐩🐈

^ Hah! That's brilliant though. All the puppies are happy and excited on your birthday. ;) ;)

My birthday is the same as the Peoples Republic of China's National Day...I have mixed feelings about that. Every couple of years or so there is also a public holiday on my birthday.

Chikyu 08-07-2015 01:16 AM

I was born on Father's Day, but since the day it falls on jumps around, it doesn't always land on my birthday.

Sheeeeeeesh eveeeeeen... He died in 2007

Chikyu 08-07-2015 01:42 AM

Oh my goodness, I too would cry both those days, we all react to losses in our ways. :(

kelseydee 08-07-2015 02:09 AM

I remember the good stuff. Still there times when I miss him horribly.

Ling 08-07-2015 04:10 AM

Aww...that's so sad [:(]

Woodlandnymph 08-07-2015 04:56 AM

:( Yeah, that happened with my grammy and Valentines Day. So the first few years were sad. [hug]

You guys make it seem like birthdays and holidays are more common! My brother always got mad that his birthday was a week before Christmas cause it meant most people were like...uh, just open one of your Xmas gifts!

Ling 08-08-2015 11:18 PM

I know a couple of people that were born on Christmas Day. As far as I know they don't mind too much. But I can understand that it may annoy people because they feel they're missing out on one lot of annual presents.

Woodlandnymph 08-11-2015 12:37 AM

But then you can just pretend all the celebrations are in your honor. :D :D

kelseydee 08-11-2015 12:52 AM

Seems like they'd get cheated out of a party as kids.

Woodlandnymph 08-11-2015 05:47 AM

Mostly cause of the rough weather in the winter here...and then everyone's off doing their celebrations. Yah. True

Drop Bear 01-22-2016 05:04 AM
