i've recently met some lovely irish folk and by that i mean people my age-sih (mid to lateish twenties) and they said that tea is not the same as it is in ireland and that they get some mailed over from home cause it's better... i should have asked to try some

i've never had a jammie dodger, nor do i know where to find them... jammie dodgers are like a cookie tea snack thing with jam in the middle... i only brought them up cause they are referenced in doctor who a bit :P

Woodlandnymph 04-02-2012 05:08 AM

Where are you now Pearl?

I love that I can find the better British teas and such around here, cause even their liptons is better than ours.....I mean, it's still not great, hahaha, but it's certainly better.

I dunno if I've heard of Bushnells.

*Smacks Linny with teabags*

xKeiko 04-02-2012 05:11 AM

OH THEM.
My Nanna has them and I tried 'em. I didn't exactly like 'em.

Though with tea? I'd rather Tim Tams. xD

Bushells is an Aussie tea and it is like, woah. :p

Woodlandnymph 04-02-2012 05:16 AM

YES! Keiko wins! No one really knows Tim tams over here, and it's sad. They are pretty fantastic.

I will have to keep my eyes peeled for that tea then next time I am in the store. There are some good selections in the imported areas.

Pearl 04-02-2012 05:19 AM

I'm in Massachusetts right now. Apparently they don't have Spring here. >.>

Woodlandnymph 04-02-2012 05:22 AM

Hehe, you are my hat! I'm below you in Connecticut. :) We have spring, it's just a bit early for it still. It was supremely warm a few weeks ago. In the 70s and sunny as anything. It's nice that we are getting rain now though, since that will make for a greener spring.

xKeiko 04-02-2012 05:24 AM

"Sunny as anything" - are you sure you've been to Australia? xD

Pearl 04-02-2012 05:26 AM

I just.... I miss the English spring. ):
The cold is too harsh here. The flowers came out when it was in the 70s but they've literally shrivelled up. It's so sad.
Our daffodils come out a month earlier than yours. >.>

How long does spring last? Flowers and that?

I get the feeling that it just cuts straight from winter to 70F.

Woodlandnymph 04-02-2012 05:36 AM

I've never been to Australia, sadly. I want to go to NZ and Australia pretty bad! But, I have been over to England and Scotland in the Spring, so I know what you mean. :D It's pretty amazing.

Our spring usually doesn't jump like that. I think you just came at a rather odd time, weather wise. Our flowers started coming up VERY early. It seems that you guys are more on par with Oregon springs. Their flowers come up very early compared to ours. March is usually a month of rain and a bit of muck, then flowers at the end, carrying over into April. Come mid-April through late May, everything is in bloom and looking amazing. I wish we had a bit more time to have the temperate weather, but this being New England, we are all about extremes.

This place is down the road from me. It's just acres and acres of daffodils.

How long are you here in Mass for Pearl?

Ahhh... Now I am thinking more about traveling. When I have a better job and can save, I will make sure to have amazing yearly trips so I can see the rest of the places I've wanted to see. :D

Pearl 04-02-2012 05:48 AM

When do the leaves go green?

I've been studying out here, I'm going travelling on May 9th and heading back home from San Francisco on May 23rd.
(Arriving May 24th, via Dusseldorf!)

xKeiko 04-02-2012 05:49 AM

Haha wow! You really should try and come here, or NZ, really, since that's also a beautiful Country.

Woodlandnymph 04-02-2012 06:01 AM

Leaves start going green hmmm..... probably early this year, but they start budding in April, and mid to late April, the leaves start coming out more. But, even more so in early May.

And sweet! San Fran is awesome! And I've also heard good things about Dusseldorf. I have a friend who lives near there.

And I wish. Seriously. NZ is on my list. Top, really, on my list of places to go.

Alright guys, nice chatting with you! Time to sleep since I have work in the AM. Tah!

xKeiko 04-02-2012 06:03 AM

Night Nymph! ...and for some reason I don't have any places I'd really like to visit other than the UK since I have a lot of online friends who are scattered around there.

----------

Well, I guess after a second thought, I should go too. :p I'm at school and it's almost hometime. Baii ya'll!

As it should be! *psst- if you make it to the south island, we should meet up, it would be awesome*

Pearl 04-02-2012 02:41 PM

Sadly we won't be actually in Dusseldorf, just spending 5 hours in the airport. >.>

:O ... what? I said i would in the rules!

Seriously though, Welcome to the Billabong, Pearl! Good to have another face in here!

As far as hot beverages go, id be lucky to have 3 hot drinks in a year. Milo or tea being the most likely candidates. Im just not a hot beverage fan for some reason? I like the cold too much i guess? :P

Tim Tams on the other hand, ill annihilate a packet of those babies in a sitting. SOOO good!

Woodlandnymph 04-03-2012 05:02 AM

TIM TAMS ARE AMAZING! The carmel chocolate in particular. I got a bunch of people over here into them, including my mom......but serious, no one knows what they are. Makes me sad. A friend of mine showed them to me first. Soooo good. I can't eat them plain though. Only with hot tea so they melt when I slurp it through. Oooooooooh yaaaaaaaaaaah.

And that's too bad :( Though, you are going to Dusseldorf and then to?

*tickles Droopy's......uh..... never mind, not going there* ;)

Linnea 04-03-2012 05:08 AM

per. vert. :talk2hand:

Woodlandnymph 04-03-2012 05:25 AM

You should see the song that I left on his home page. Oh, and, I was singing it as I was coming up with it. With a little help from our good friend Pander Bare

Linnea 04-03-2012 05:29 AM

i know he doesn't mind a little pervy behavior every now and again ;)

Woodlandnymph 04-03-2012 05:34 AM

I thought he might enjoy it :D :D :D

Linnea 04-03-2012 05:36 AM

i haven't heard from him in ages... i think he might be dead and rotting in a wall or attic somewhere O_O

Woodlandnymph 04-03-2012 05:42 AM

Ha, naaaaaah. That man needs something cool like a mausoleum to rot in.

Linnea 04-03-2012 05:46 AM

can we rip his brains out through his nose and wrap him up in toilet paper??? :eager:

Woodlandnymph 04-03-2012 06:02 AM

Of course!
