That Time Of Year Already!? D:
Ugh...
So last Friday me and the rest of my year group were given our option forms for next year. We have to choose what classes we want to take and prove how these classes will be crucial in our future development. I personally hate this time of year. I don't have the foggiest what I want to do in the future. Everyone else has really grounded ambitions such as chef or nursery worker. I, on the other hand, still have that childhood fantasy of being famous swimming around my head. How am I supposed to choose these classes when I have no idea what I want to do and am only really passionate about three of them? Sadly English, Geography and Drama (which isn't even a school course but an extra-curricular thing I'm taking) will not be enough to guide me through. Still two/three classes short and my form has to be in by the end of the week. Gah! Did anyone else here have the same problem deciding what they wanted to do? |
I never figured out what I wanted to do. But at the end of the day, I don't think it really matters all that much. Whatever you want or don't want to do, life happens regardless, so there's no use worrying too much. As long as you take some subjects that you think will look decent on a resume/CV.
I personally think that the best thing you could study is something that interests you. You can get qualified in a specific field and with the job market the way it is, end up doing something that's completely irrelevant to what you study. Not many people I know are doing jobs that are related to their qualifications. |
I'm 19 and I'm proud that I don't know what I want to do. I have thousands of dreams I could fulfill.
Ebil is right. Just take classes that seem interesting to you. No one ever said you had to do the same job for the rest of your life. Good luck. |
