Curry was puzzled by her touches but figured she wanted to touch the tattoos and he didn't protest. He wouldn't have protested if that hadn't been the case, anyway--he liked to be touched. There was a clear look of bliss on his face as her hands moved even though his mouth was kept in a flat line. His eyes were closed, as well.

He was completely silent as he relaxed.

Mad Hatters Revenge 01-29-2011 08:07 AM

Finally, she allowed herself to stop focusing so much on the tattoo, and look at his face. He looked calm, his muscles felt relaxed, for a moment she almost believed he was human. She wanted to ask so badly why he'd saved her, why she wasn't just a snack or someone to be turned into a new pet. Then again she was also trying to figure out how long it would be, if he ever did, figure out that all three had been vampires, and it hadn't been luck. Elizabeth was beginning to think it was time to quit while she was ahead. Then her brain was completely clouded over, not wanting to care anymore, just relax and rest. She let her hand continue to trace the ink, "I think you earned another good night." Was all she managed to say, almost randomly, not giving him time to respond before sitting up, leaning over him, and kissing him.

Mira-Charma13 01-29-2011 08:10 AM

Curry was not expecting her words and he had just opened his eyes, intending to question her, when she leaned over him and pressed her lips to his in a gentle sort of kiss. He was stunned for a just a moment before he reached his hand up and placed it on her cheek, in an affectionate way.

He was the first to pull away, with an amused sort of smile on his face. "Get some sleep. It will help your injuries." He could even smell that she was tired...that's how obvious it was.

Mad Hatters Revenge 01-29-2011 08:14 AM

She almost pouted when he pulled away to tell her to sleep, forgetting how wonderful just a simple kiss was. However he was right, she needed rest, and it was the pills making her act so foolishly. So, even though she was unable to stop herself from pouting a little, she nodded in agreement as she laid back down, forcing herself to pull her hand away and roll on her side to face away from him. The less she was able to see him, the less tempting he was. So she shut her eyes and let sleep wash over her.

Mira-Charma13 01-29-2011 08:15 AM

Curry held back a snicker at just how pouty she looked--like a child that was being put in time-out. It was so different from the denial he'd so recently seen from her. He turned away from her as well--carefully, though. He was so tall that he almost didn't fit his own bed, but he was curled up so that wasn't a problem.

It took him a while to fall asleep, but when he finally did, his sleep was peaceful.

Mad Hatters Revenge 01-29-2011 08:41 AM

Not even a few minutes after she'd fallen asleep, her body had taken over and allowed it self to roll back over and curl up as close as it could to an actual body, something she hadn't done in years. Mid afternoon, a vibrating noise woke her up, her phone going off in her pocket on the floor. Cracking her eyes open, she blushed, she was using his chest as a pillow with one arm draped across it. Carefully, she pulled away so she could hang off the side of the bed and ignore the phone call from her boss, but only so she could text him.

Three. Taken care of. Banged up but fine.

It took only a few minutes before he replied.

Good. New job. A pair. One week to do it. With send details later.

Ugh. One week for two? It must been a really easy pair or a real threat if they thought they only had a week to get them under control. Sighing, she let her phone fall back onto her pants, debating on if she should try to sleep more or sneak out and go home. Her eyes landed on the bathroom, and she voted for neither. Instead, she carefully got out of bed, quietly shut the door, and after painfully peeling the gauze off, got in the shower.

Mira-Charma13 01-29-2011 08:47 AM

Curry woke up when she was about halfway done with her shower or so. He stirred rather uncomfortably when he woke up, realizing that the warmth that had been sleeping next to him was now gone. He was rather cold without another body in his bed. When he finally did wake up from his comfortable place on the bed, he looked around the room in a daze. He noted with distaste that the sun was up--the blinds and very thick curtains obscured it, though. He was usually asleep around this time.

Curry yawned and looked around for her, puzzled. Then he heard the shower running and understood. He decided to get dressed while he waited in a simple t-shirt and jeans.

Mycroft was awake before anyone else in the house. He had left his room and was busy watching the news in the living room, nibbling on some popcorn.

Mad Hatters Revenge 01-29-2011 08:55 AM

While the shower had been a bit more painful than she'd have liked, at least everything felt cleaner, and she was a bit more awake and ready to deal with whatever her new assignment was. She wrapped a large towel around herself, using a smaller one to dry her hair. Not expecting him to be awake, since the sun was still up she just assumed he was out cold, she jumped a bit when she walked out and he was already up. At least he was dressed, it made looking at him possible. Though it was probably a good thing he was awake, she couldn't reach all of the cuts well enough to toss fresh bandages on them. "Oh...um....good morning."

Marcus, one for sleeping in late when he could, had woken up a few hours after Mycroft had left, noticing the emptiness in the bed and unhappily dragged himself from it. Once he found him on the couch, he plopped himself down in a seat, completely dressed now, and just looked at the popcorn. "Are you crazy? You shouldn't be eating popcorn this early, it's not healthy, it'll ruin your appetite for the rest of the day."

Mira-Charma13 01-29-2011 08:59 AM

Curry blinked--he hadn't expected her to come out in little more than a towel. "...Good morning. Do you need some clothing to wear for the day? You can just wear that shirt and a pair of sweatpants...your clothing needs to be both repaired and washed."

Mycroft blinked at him and looked almost offended. He was wearing a simple blue turtleneck and some old black jeans. No matter what he wore and no matter how mussed up his hair currently was, he always managed to look somewhat attractive. "...That doesn't really apply to me. I don't...I don't 'eat' every day," he reminded him, chewing on his lip.

Mad Hatters Revenge 01-29-2011 09:14 AM

She blushed and looked at her pile of clothes on the floor, "Yeah, I can just throw them out...I have plenty, that look just like those really." She replied honestly but was glad for the offer of new clothes. "I...uh...well..." Her face was three shades of red, she wasn't drunk, half dead, or on pain medication anymore, it made it a lot harder to ask for something that involved physical contact. "I need help putting new bandages on, I can't reach the ones on my back well enough to do it."

Marcus listened and understood what he meant, but played it off as if it wasn't as big of a deal as it really was. "Yeah you need to knock off that bad habit to. I'll come here every night if I have to to make sure you don't keep destroying yourself." He said, his voice playful before turning serious, "It's not just survival, humans have their version of hunters, they get word of a vampire who's gone or is one the verge of blood lust, they try to take them and anyone protecting him out."

Mira-Charma13 01-29-2011 09:19 AM

"...Oh. I see." Curry halfway understood why she was so embarrassed about having to ask him for help with the bandages. It was physical contact, on one hand...but it was for her benefit, so it shouldn't have been a big deal. It wasn't, at least not in his eyes. He nodded towards the bed. "Lay or sit down on the bed, if you'd like...I'll fetch some bandages and antibiotic cream from the bathroom..." Curry headed into the bathroom to rummage around the medicine cabinet.

Mycroft folded his arms across his chest, indignantly popping one of the pieces of popcorn into his mouth. "It's not a bad habit. It's just...it's who I am, all right? Curry is always there to make sure I don't do anything wrong."

Mad Hatters Revenge 01-29-2011 11:18 PM

It wasn't just the contact, her pride was use to being able to do everything herself, aside from Marcus's assistance every now and again, she did everything herself, took care of herself, it was the only way to not get yourself killed these days. After debating, she decided laying down for a bit would help take some weight of the injuries for now, the ones on he stomach she could do herself. So she carefully laid down on her stomach, careful with the towel and tried to relax a little.

"Things to you and your loved ones getting killed are bad habits." He argued back but waved his hand in dismissal, "But whatever, when they come hunting you and your brother I'll just say I told you so." Marcus wasn't just pushing the subject to try and hint that the to were probably already being hunted, he wasn't sure if Elizabeth had direct orders to kill either of them, but if word got out after last night about Mycrofts condition, they'd send others, ones with a whole where their hearts use to be. But he didn't say anymore about it, he sat there and silently watched the news.

Mira-Charma13 01-30-2011 03:13 AM

Curry returned a few moments later with a roll of fresh gauze and some soothing cream in case her wounds were aching. He noticed her laying on the bed and didn't say anything at all--he sat on the bed, letting the shifting of weight show he was there.

He proceeded to start wrapping up her wounds. It did not take very long to finish up--he put some of the cream on one of the wounds, which was looking rather red and angry.

Mycroft put his arms up over his head, no longer focused on the news. He was making a face like Marcus had just struck him. Curry must have sheltered him and enabled him to do this for a very long time. He didn't even want to hear it, not at all. To Curry, keeping Mycroft under control was never a problem.

Mad Hatters Revenge 01-30-2011 03:27 AM

Even though she'd heard him moving, she still jumped when he sat on the bed, and had to fight to relax while he treated the injuries. Though as soon as she finished she sat up quickly, grabbing the shirt an sweat pants, hopping in the bathroom just long enough to slip them on before she made her way out. "Right then, we should get going. Marcus may not have things to do but I still have work that doesn't give much time unless I'm in the hospital." Which was never. "So yeah. We'll get out of your hair." She said, seeming rather rushed and nervous now that she was out of her element, unarmed, and not even in her own clothes.

------

Marcus didn't say anymore, it was like talking to a child, he even made a note to chastise Curry for it. He wasn't a child and needed to stop thinking like one, the more he was sheltered the worse it would be when his blood lust overtook him and Curry would no longer be able to stop him. A sweet kid like him didn't deserve to die over something so easy to fix.

Mira-Charma13 01-30-2011 03:39 AM

Curry followed her once she left. He seemed curious as to why she wanted to leave so quickly...

"What work do you have to do?" he asked, somewhat curiously. "I don't think you've told me what you do yet. I'd like to know. Myself, I'm unemployed...I'm looking for a job as we speak." It was true, actually...though he had a lot of money, he was looking for a job so he could bring in even more money. Plus, it ebbed away other peoples' suspicions about him.

Mycroft didn't say anything else. He was frightened of the prospect of willingly biting someone...he always had been.

Mad Hatters Revenge 01-30-2011 08:45 AM

Eliabeth hesitated, she hadn't thought he'd ever ask what her job was, however she had a story for anyone who asked, and business card, and the number went straight to her boss, who would give wonderful credibility, but apologize because her schedule was full with clients. A believable back up plan, and she used it, sounding a bit shy about it. "I...I'm a personal body guard most of the time, bounty hunter when there's no clients and I need the cash." She said, sounding embarrassed, as if her job was what he wouldn't like. The real one, he would despise her for, this fake one though, was just one girls normally wouldn't do.

Mira-Charma13 01-31-2011 03:44 AM

Curry stared for just a moment and then he snickered, looking wickedly amused. "All right, then...I'm not going to ask questions..." He stopped in the living room once they reached it, immediately seeing that something was bothering his younger companion.

Mycroft lifted his head and opened his eyes when Curry approached. He seemed much calmer and more relieved now that Curry was in the room. The two of them must have been with each other for a very long time...and indeed, it had been a long time since Curry first found him.

It had been around the peak of the Renaissance.

Mad Hatters Revenge 01-31-2011 03:38 PM

Elizabeth didn't see his face, chances were he thought it was a joke, so she ignored the tension in the living room; though noted it was probably Marcus's doing, " Let's go I've gotta work." She snipped out coldly, making it clear she was in no mood to argue.

He sighed but stood, "That ass needs to give you a day off." But he said no more about it just nodded at Curry, "Walk us out." He never had a problem ordering anyone around, Elizabeth loved that about him but had no idea why he had to walk them out, she just grabbed the keys from him and made her way outside.

Mira-Charma13 02-01-2011 04:43 AM

"'Please' is a nice word, you know. You can just go. You don't need us to walk you out, after all--you aren't helpless. Call me if you need anything...if you end up not being too busy, I should be at the club tonight." Curry rubbed at his eyes--they looked a little red even though he'd gotten sleep. Daytime hours made him sluggish, though they seemed to have no effect on Mycroft.

Mycroft leaned against Curry's shoulder when the older man sat down beside him and continued to watch the news.

Mad Hatters Revenge 02-02-2011 11:55 PM

While Marcus went to protest, Elizabeth wasn't in the mood to deal with him, so she dragged them out and left them to go about their day as they normally would. Marcus made an unhappy noise as they began driving home. "You know as well as I do he needs to be talked to about that kid. He's going to loose it, feeding him hospital blood won't keep him healthy for much longer and Curry won't be able to control him if he goes into a full blood lust frenzy."

In the passenger seat she rubbed her temples and actually growled at him, "Marcus, I'm aware, it is my damn job remember? I can't point that out or he's going to catch on to watch my damn job is. I got a funny feeling it's not going to be an issue much longer. I've got a job, for two, in this area. I don't know about you but I haven't seen any other activity that would set off their radar. He's sending me the information now so hopefully I'm wrong, but I've only got a week, if I don't, they'll send someone who will, and if I refuse, that someone will come after me as well." You don't just stop hunting because you don't want to kill one, they think you'll be turned next, so they kill you before you become a threat.

Marcus dropped the conversation, already knowing if it was them, she obviously didn't know what she was going to do.

Later, their fears were confirmed, the files were for Curry and Mycroft, with a lovely description that someone had seen them the other night, struggling with each other before Curry subdued him and tossed him in a car. Elizabeth was slamming her head off the desk before Marcus stepped in to stop her. So she got out her phone and called her boss.

"Have you seen the target yet?"

"Yeah and I'm going to need more than a week, the boy is never far from his side (except when he's at clubs), and I'll need to get close if I plan on having any chance of taking them both out at once."

"You have one week. We're sending in others to watch them, it's a big pay, they'll be trying to take them out as soon as they think they have a chance, you might want to hurry up if you want a paycheck."
He hung up, and she cures, chucking the phone across the room, thankfully not breaking it.

"I either take them out myself or someone else will, I'll just...have to do it next time I see him."

Mira-Charma13 02-03-2011 06:38 AM

Curry and Mycroft's day had gone uneventfully. Neither of them were used to being up so early in the day, and since they couldn't go outside, there wasn't much to do other than loll around aimlessly, watch television, and play video games. The latter took up most of the day. Curry and Mycroft were both avid gamers...they owned hundreds and hundreds of games and every single gaming system that had been released to date.

Video games and gaming accessories took up a lot of space. They were mostly kept in Curry's room, in his extra two dressers. They were a bother whenever the pair decided to up and move. Many boxes were needed for them.

As the day dragged on and on, Curry found himself starting to get thirsty again. He drank regularly, unlike his smaller companion, and usually grew hungry after two or so days of not having any blood in his belly. It didn't distract him from his gaming, but it nagged him all day long.

When the sun finally set, completely, Curry nabbed Mycroft, an unwilling companion for tonight, and headed out to the club where he had met Elizabeth. It was his favorite buffet, in a sense...most people there were too drunk or high, or both, to notice that anything was off about the two of them.

As usual, they stayed by the bar that night, Curry's watchful eyes scanning the room for easy snacks.

Mad Hatters Revenge 02-04-2011 03:58 PM

Marcus refused to leave her be, asking at first every hour, and then every few minutes what she planned to do tonight. She couldn't just sit here moping, she had to figure out what she needed to do. Finally, a few solid objects thrown across the room later, she groaned. "Fine! Just shut up and we'll go already!"

Marcus smiled, but quickly frowned, "And do what? Act like everything's cool and they're not being hunted down by multiple people, who are probably already watching them?" He asked, hand on one hip to show he wouldn't be all right with that plan.

She rubbed her temples. "We'll just....invite them home or something and...I don't know I'd rather just wing it. If there's no one there I'm not worried about it."

So they left for the club, she wasted no time trying to look 'good', leaving on some tattering jeans, a plain red tank top and sneakers, armed to the teeth with a knife in each pocket, a dagger along her spine, and another on her right calf. She wasn't planning on taking them out tonight, just fighting off any who decided to get in her way.

Once they arrived, she spotted four already who had their eyes glued to the two boys, and those were only the ones she could see from the entrance. Sighing, she dragged Marcus over to the bar, not wasting anytime placing herself in front of them with a smile. "Hey....sorry about earlier, boss was hassling me to get my ass moving, didn't want to lose my job." Which, she might if she wasn't careful. "We, wanted to make it up to you, have you over to my place for a bite to eat."

Even though it was a serious situation, Marcus couldn't help but wink at Mycroft the moment she said 'bite to eat'.

Mira-Charma13 02-05-2011 03:13 AM

Curry didn't notice the pair approaching--he was busy chatting it up with a couple of clearly smashed girls. He politely excused himself once he caught sight of Elizabeth and Marcus, however. Something appeared to be off with the elder vampire tonight. His shoulders were up to his chin and he kept glancing around the room, his eyes narrowed ever so slightly.

Could he feel that he and Mycroft were being watched?

Mycroft frowned quite pointedly at Marcus when he winked, clearly thinking that this wasn't a good time for a joke like that. It was never a good time for a joke like that. Never. Curry, after a final glance around the club, turned back towards her. "That would be lovely," he declared, simply. "For some reason I don't feel much like dancing tonight...just socializing. But this is the only good place to socialize around here, so I figured I'd take my chances."

He wrapped an arm around Mycroft's shoulders--in a fatherly manner, almost--and smiled. "Lead the way."

Mad Hatters Revenge 02-05-2011 04:09 AM

At first she hadn't expected it to be so easy, so it took her a minute to finally nod, "Great. Let's go." She said, grabbing Marcus by the arm to keep him from continuing to look at Mycroft like he was planning on being his next meal. It wasn't helping any, she knew he was trying to make the best of a bad situation, but feeding Mycroft wasn't going to take the orders off their heads.

Once outside, Elizabeth took the back alleys home, because she knew they were being followed, knew they'd attack in public if it meant they'd get paid, and knew the back streets were her best chance at making sure they got the hint and backed off. Marcus kept looking around, and when Elizabeth didn't even glance he couldn't help it, "Sweetie you do know we're..."

"I'm perfectly aware, I'm waiting for them to grow a backbone."

The insult got two to jump down from the fire escapes they'd been poorly hiding on. One of them just smiled, "Go home, or help us, we'll split it with you right down the middle." He offered, a blade in his hand.

Elizbaeth shoved Marcus behind her, "Get them home. Not the apartment. Home." Marcus was the only one who actually knew where her home was, they'd have to stop at the apartment for the car, but no slayers would chase after them in a moving vehicle, it was too risky. "I suggest you remember who you're talking to and run along before you do something you'll regret."

He put his dagger away, but stepped forward, "We feel you've already done something you regret, that you're going to do more, I suggest you help us, before we help them find out about you."

She lost her temper, and took a full swing at him, knocking him flat on his ass with a black eye before pulling two daggers to deal with the fight she'd started.

Marcus made his way over to the other two, "I believe we should leave before more show up..." He offered, though from what time he'd spent with the two, he felt Mycroft would be the only one ready to turn and run before the fight escalated past Elizabeth and the two slayers.

Mira-Charma13 02-05-2011 04:17 AM

Curry did not seem that eager about leaving. He was a tough old nut and wasn't one to back down from a fight, especially if someone he remotely cared about was in danger. He folded his arms across his chest briefly, as if he was in deep thought. He then fished around in his pocket and found what he was looking for. He tossed the keys to his Lamborghini in Marcus' direction.

"My car is parked at the club. It's very...flashy, and fast. Take it wherever you need to. I'll stay here." He grinned, toothily. "I can be useful in a fight. I've fought more than my fair share in my lifetime...take Mycroft with you. He's a terrible fighter."

Mycroft was already raring to go, looking terrified and clinging to Marcus' arm.
