Mad Hatters Revenge 02-05-2011 06:01 AM

Marcus knew Elizabeth would throw a fit, but he didn't have time to argue, he just sighed and lead Mycroft away, hoping the two wouldn't try to kill each other before they could make it to the house to make sure they arrived all right. "Come on you, time for a vacation." He said, trying to sound light an casual, but his brisk pace showed there was no time to dawdle, and as soon as they were in the car he left, making his way out of the city and into the country side.

Elizabeth didn't have time to focus on how left and who stayed, she was clashing blades with one left standing, while the other began pushing himself up off the ground, drawing his own weapon at first to go after Elizabeth, but his eyes saw the other two leave, so he focused on Curry instead. "With you out of the way the boy will be easy enough to take care of."

Her biggest problem, was she wasn't trying to kill them, her opponent was trying to kill her, so she was mostly on the defense, doing her best to get him to realize he was outmatched, but when you're opponent isn't throwing any attacks at you, it's not like you're going to turn tail and run.

Mira-Charma13 02-05-2011 06:07 AM

Mycroft didn't argue. He was tired, for one...plus he was frightened. He knew that Curry could damn well handle himself and wasn't worried about him. He just wanted to get to somewhere safe. As the car started moving, Mycroft relaxed more and more. He curled up in the front seat and eventually drifted off to sleep, his head coming to rest on Marcus' shoulder.

Curry stayed perfectly still, cracking a grin. He raised one arm and beckoned to the slayer. The moment his beckoning finished, he appeared to have vanished into thin air.

Truth was that he had 'flitted.' Older vampires could gather up their energy and move at nearly the speed of light to avoid attacks...and hide. Curry had raised himself up onto one of the higher fire escapes and was preparing a non-lethal but sure-to-knock-out attack for the slayer.

Mad Hatters Revenge 02-05-2011 06:12 AM

The slayer went for him, but scowled when he disappeared, "Can't even fight like a man? Have to run and hide?"

Elizabeth finally got the upper hand, he'd pinned her to the wall but she managed to take his legs out and pin him to the concrete, slamming one foot on the hand with the weapon, a few cracks indicating he'd have a few broken bones before she kicked the blade away, "I said leave." She snapped, her eyes had grown cold, face stone, she was in her fighting mind set, almost a completely different person than she was when she was socializing with them in the club. The slayer pushed off the ground and took off own the alley before she finally turned to figure out what the other one was up to.

Mira-Charma13 02-05-2011 06:15 AM

"I fight like a fair and intelligent vampire, not a man."

Curry was halfway down from the fire escape when he said this. He landed directly on the slayer with nearly bone-crushing force. It would be enough to sprain, bruise, and perhaps dislocate some bones...but not enough to kill. His falling had been perfectly executed--from the distance to the speed.

He shifted himself off of the slayer, scratching his head absently. "...Do we just leave him here in the middle of the alley?"

Mad Hatters Revenge 02-05-2011 06:21 AM

When she heard the crushing sound, she was terrified the slayer was dead, even rushed over, pushing past him a bit to roll the slayer onto his back and check his pulse, when she found it, she sighed in relief before standing. She grabbed his arm and began pulling him down the alley, "Others will be along shortly to help him out. I suggest we be long gone by then." She said, glad her apartment, and car, were only a block and a half away, they'd be there in no time and be long gone by the time any other slayers would think to go check for her there.

Mira-Charma13 02-06-2011 03:21 AM

Curry looked relatively amused. He had an inkling of what her true profession was, now...but he didn't quite feel like bringing it up, especially since she was basically betraying her occupation by assisting him right now.

"Very well, very well...you don't have to pull me." He gently wrenched his arm away from her but continued to follow her, moving much more slowly and tagging along at the rear. He preferred not to move too quickly, even in times of danger. Slow and steady would always win the race.

Mad Hatters Revenge 02-08-2011 06:13 AM

Elizabeth was on edge the entire walk to the car, but said nothing. She wasn't sure why he was willingly going with her, then again she was the only one who knew where Marcus had taken Mycroft, so chances were he wasn't ripping her to pieces yet because he needed that small bit of information. When they finally got her to apartment, she did have or them to sprint upstairs, toss a few important belongings and anything they could use to trace where she'd been or might go, in a large duffel bag, before heading back downstairs.

Tossing the bag in the backseat, she started the car, and as soon as his door was shut, took off, and didn't seem to relax even the slightest bit until they were out of the city and the houses started becoming fewer and farther between. A phone went off, not the one she normally answered, she'd left that in the apartment, they were already tracking it. She had multiple prepaid phones for emergencies, and Marcus had every number. She answered it.

"W-"
"Favorite color is red. You can 50 different ways to kill someone with your high heels. You're a natural blonde. I'm an ass man and William is a tool."
She sighed and smiled, they hadn't used the confirmation questions a lot, but he'd done as she asked and memorized them so there was no copy of them anywhere. It had to be said in that order, with that wording, or she hung up and got rid of the phone. They actually had 5 different sets of answers, any would work, so long as they were the right order. He was told to never use to same one twice in a row, or she'd act as if it were an incorrect answer. "Any problem getting there?"

"None so far, we're about, 25 minutes out, I'll leave the shades pulled, turn the heat on, and have Mycroft pick out a movie. I'd offer to pull over and wait but you're convinced someone would notice."

"Someone would notice, so keep going. We just left the city, should be there in an hour." She hung up, tossing the in the middle compartment between the two seats, and started flipping through radio stations to listen to.

Mira-Charma13 02-08-2011 06:18 AM

Curry did not follow her inside. Instead he stayed out of sight, watching the door curiously and waiting for her to come out. When she finally did come out, he had no problems hopping into the car beside her and locking it immediately. He hoped that Marcus would not damage his expensive car. He was sure it was quite a thrill to drive, since it was a rather beautiful car...he adored it.

He listened idly to the odd phone conversation between the two humans, listening closely for any signs of Mycroft--though with the excitement the poor thing had probably forced himself to fall asleep.

Once she hung up, Curry reached out and shooed her hand away. He proceeded to turn on his favorite station. It was not a well-known station, but it played some of the best rock music he knew of.

Mad Hatters Revenge 02-08-2011 06:32 AM

Elizabeth made a face that clearly stated she was not use to anyone being in charge of anything in her car except herself. Even Marcus knew better than to so much as think about changing the radio on her. Then again he liked her choice of music, so he never seemed to care either. However, she bit back the urge to point out that no one touched her radio...ever...and let him keep his station. It at least was a decent station to listen to.

That and she felt if she said anything about it, or said anything at all, he'd be quick to bring up the topic she was surprised hadn't come up yet. Her job, what ridiculous drugs made her decide to save the two of them instead of killing them, and in the process giving up the only life she'd known for 6 years. She pulled off the road 30 minutes into the drive, mostly to be sure no one was following them, but she also wanted to use the bathroom and get a drink. Leaving him to deal with himself, she returned to the car and within ten minutes they were back on the road. Another 30 minutes of nothing but the radio and she gave a sigh of relief as she pulled into the driveway of an nice, two story house, in the middle of th woods. Using the garage door opener, she parked next to Curry's; still in perfect conidition; car, before grabbing all of her things, locking it, and making her way to head inside.

Mira-Charma13 02-08-2011 06:36 AM

Curry didn't mind long, silent car rides. He was used to traveling with Mycroft, who tended to like to sleep during long drives. Mycroft could barely drive--he was terrible at it--so Curry drove them most places. Curry would have no one to talk to during the car ride. He had been contemplating bringing up what had just happened an hour ago, but he decided that seeing as he himself was getting tired she was probably tired as well. It wasn't worth it.

Once they arrived at their destination, he eagerly hopped out of the car and stretched. His stomach rumbled as he did so, and he paused and chuckled, looking wickedly amused. "Sorry. I must be hungry."

And he was. He was used to drinking more often than Mycroft was...two or three days was a long time for him to go without.

Mad Hatters Revenge 02-08-2011 06:40 AM

She paused as she brought her key up to the house door when his stomach rumbled, really not expecting the noise at all. When he brought up that he was hungry, she sighed, closing her eyes, and slamming her head on the door a few times. The house was well stocked for humans to live a few weeks before needing to stop at a store, vampires...well when you're job is normally to kill them you don't normally stock up for taking care of one, let alone two. The last thing she was going to deal with was two hungry vampires under her roof tonight, if he was going to keep Mycroft under control, he'd need to be at his top condition. Sighing, she set everything on the ground before walking over and holding out her wrist. "There's nothing here for either of you two eat, other than Marcus and myself, and I'm not allowing Marcus to be a snack just because I didn't think this through all the way. So...just...take this until we figure something out."

Mira-Charma13 02-08-2011 06:46 AM

Curry glanced down at her offered wrist and then back up at her, looking minutely puzzled. He didn't expect her to want to offer herself up so readily. He suspected, after careful analysis of what had happened, that she was indeed a slayer. So why would she willingly allow a vampire to bite her?

Then again, she'd let him bite her once before. And she'd saved him and his companion. An odd slayer, indeed...

"If you're sure..." Curry reached out and gently grabbed her arm. He leaned over her wrist and bit into it, as gently as he could. He did not take much...just enough to sate his hunger. When he pulled back, he sighed, looking like he wasn't hungry at all anymore.

"Thank you."

Mad Hatters Revenge 02-08-2011 06:51 AM

She just nodded when he asked if she was sure, cringing a bit when he bit her wrist, it didn't hurt, she just wasn't happy about it. Though with little options, she'd have to feed them something, and her wrist was far less awkward than her neck. So once he finished, her hand quickly pulled back to her side and she turned on her heel, picking up her bag and keys before finally unlocking the door and walking inside. "You're welcome." She replied before heading through the kitchen and into the living room.

Mycroft had slept the entire ride, so Marcus had simply carried him to the living room and placed him on the couch to let him sleep. He'd even popped in a movie but didn't do more than glance and wave at the two. Apparently he had no questions at all, and for once was waiting until she had a plan to share with him before pestering her about it like he normally did.

Mira-Charma13 02-08-2011 06:54 AM

Mycroft slept only for another ten minutes or so. When he finally did stir, his eyelids slid open and he glanced around in a confused sort of manner, not knowing where he was. He didn't ask any questions, though...he was a little too intimidated to even attempt that.

Curry leaned in the doorway, regarding everyone in the room with a solemn sort of look. "...You realize if you want us to move, I'm going to have to head back and fetch everything that belongs to Mycroft and myself," he stated, simply. "I can't leave it there."

Mad Hatters Revenge 02-08-2011 07:01 AM

Elizabeth sighed and rubbed her temples, it had only been one question, but she was already growing irritated at the thought of how many more that one would bring. She hated tonight, hated her damn luck, and was ready to take it out on anyone she had a reason to. So far, one meager question wasn't enough to rip his head off about and she shook her head. "You'll have to wait a few days. By now, they'll have it watched, if not covered with traps. They won't wait much longer, they're expecting you to have multiple homes that are under different names like many of your kind do."

Until then they'd have to have to wait it out and figure out where these two would go, not that it was any concern of hers, she should be more focused on where Marcus and she would go. Another country would be the best chance of avoiding her boss, or at least the other side of the country.

Mira-Charma13 02-08-2011 07:05 AM

"We only have one home," Curry informed her, a wry grin on his face. "...Well...one home that we own, anyway. If you're looking for a place to stay, a human associate of mine who lives in South Africa is always willing to open his doors to myself and Mycroft...surely he wouldn't mind giving you a place to stay, either."

Curry only had a few close friends. But most of them were internationally-based. He had a close human friend in South Africa, an old contact in Russia who was another vampire...just to name two.

Mad Hatters Revenge 02-08-2011 07:10 AM

She shook her head, not necessarily to say no, just to show she was in no mood to discuss it right now. "I'm not packing my things up right now to move to Africa. We've got a few days before you can even get your things let alone pack them to make a large move like that at night. We'll just...wait and figure things out by then." She said, tossing her belongings on the couch to make her way upstairs.

Marcus glanced at Curry, but shrugged to show he would be no help in this situation. He would be following her orders, and he would stay out of the discussion on where to go until he actually had a good reason to join in.

Mira-Charma13 02-08-2011 07:14 AM

"Suit yourself." Curry stood there awkwardly, looking exhausted but not knowing where to go in a new environment. He was tired. He wanted to sleep for a while...he idly wondered where he could do so, but didn't ask.

Mycroft didn't appear to be too happy about not being able to immediately go and fetch his things. "...But..." he stopped, and then cleared his throat and started again. "...My...my aquarium...my fish need to be fed..."

...That was what he was worrying about. After all that had happened he was worrying about his five fish in his aquarium back home.

Mad Hatters Revenge 02-08-2011 08:23 AM

Marcus couldn't help it, he laughed, "Sweety, you've got bigger things to worry about than your fish. I don't know if I'm speaking for everyone, but I'd rather give up a few fish than risk you getting yourself killed after all this work to avoid it." he said, sighing as he watched Elizabeth go up stairs. He glanced at Curry, "I have no idea where she wants everyone to sleep, to be honest I don't think she was expecting to come here, let alone do what she just did. I don't know what you and Mycroft did to her Romeo, but I sure as hell hope you at least said thank you."

Mira-Charma13 02-08-2011 08:26 AM

"I have not had a chance to thank her just yet. Things have been too hectic," Curry reminded him, pointedly. "I will wait until everything settles down before sitting down to seriously talk with her. I need to find somewhere to rest or I'm going to pass out on the floor here, if no one minds."

He scratched at his head absently, watching the sad expression on Mycroft's face. Mycroft loved fish...and anything having to do with the ocean, in fact. He hated the thought of leaving his fish behind.

Mad Hatters Revenge 02-08-2011 08:42 AM

Marcus looked around, but didn't have time to answer, music started playing upstairs and he sighed. "Just a second." He made his way up, and once the music was off, sounds of an argument broke out, and then what sounded like a body begin dragged down the hall, then painfully down the stairs. Marcus entered the kitchen dragging a bottle of Jack, with Elizabeth clinging to it. It was already missing a good chunk of it. "Let go!"

"No!" With some squirming, she got it free of his grasp, and bolted behind the counter to take a swig, apparently she'd found time to change into pajama pants and a tank top, and had kept a dagger in her hand for comfort. "I've earned a damn drink! I don't have a job, my entire life just blew up!" She threw her arms out to exaggerate it just a little, "Did I get to the part where I'm hiding the men I'm suppose to kill, cause I think that adds to it. Hell I've earned a lot more than a damn drink! You should order me some hookers, cause I believe I deserve a treat." She said, smirking a bit as she giggled and sat on the counter.

Marcus sighed and frowned at her, "Mycroft is already upset that his fish might die within the next few days, you could at least say you're sorry they had their lives turned upside down to."

She made a face, that clearly said she wasn't about to. "They're ancient, they can regain their perfect little lives in a blink of an eye. I'll be dead by the time I have my life back in order, if they don't kill me first! Besides..." She took a swig before pointing down the hall, "There's a large tank in the back room, you can play with the fish in their. Automated fish feeder and one of those little algae eating things make it really easy to leave them alone for weeks." At least she was trying to cheer the boy up, Marcus, giving up on trying to get her to feel better, smiled at Mycroft and offered his hand with a small shrug, "It's better than no fish at all right? I'm sure she'd even let you pick some to take with you."

If the boy took the offer to at least go look at the very large tank, Marcus would smile at Curry. "You're stronger than I am, you see if you can work some of your magic on her." Though he couldn't help but smirk when he said magic, apparently having no problems what he did so long as he didn't kill her.

Mira-Charma13 02-08-2011 08:51 AM

Mycroft looked up at the mention of seeing more fish and nodded, slowly. But he still looked upset. His fish were always carefully tended to. He had fed them before Curry had taken him out into the club...but he didn't know if they would live through a few days on their own. They were fed once every three days--the shrimp that were in the tank made more food for them...

Curry arched an eyebrow in Marcus' direction but shrugged, figuring that was his green light. Honestly, he was craving some contact with someone--he was used to a lot of it. He ushered Mycroft up out of his seat and towards Marcus before turning and striding behind the counter to meet Elizabeth.

He leaned against the counter, offering his hand to her. "Do you want me to 'work my magic' on you?" he asked, pleasantly. "For lack of any better words...plus I'm too tired to think of anything better to say."

Mad Hatters Revenge 02-08-2011 09:03 AM

Elizabeth glared at Marcus as he left, and did so to Curry as he walked over, but it was clear it wasn't a hateful glare. She pointed the dagger at him, less careful with him than a human since she had little chance of actually doing permanent damage. At first it seemed like she was going to reply with a very snippy refusal followed by all the reasons why she wouldn't want him to do anything of the sort. However, her brain reminded her she was no longer a slayer by the books, so what would it hurt to enjoy what her enemies had to offer. Setting the dagger down, even the bottle as well, she took his hand with a smile. "Maybe, don't have much else to loose, I think I've earned the right to enjoy myself, unless you drain me dry I don't have anything left I can loose if you did 'work your magic on me.'"

Mira-Charma13 02-08-2011 09:06 AM

"I don't kill those I bite," Curry replied, firmly. He paused and then looked down. "Not anymore. Mycroft steered me away from that habit," he murmured, softly. He shook that thought off and then looked back up, allowing his hand to close over hers. He didn't have much to lose either, anyway...

"Very well, then. Lead the way. I don't know my way around your home..."

Though he was wary about leaving Mycroft alone with Marcus, still...he had a feeling he would be safe.

Mad Hatters Revenge 02-08-2011 09:31 AM

Elizabeth happily lead him upstairs to her room. It was covered in reds, the comforts were red silk, the furniture was dark cherry wood, and every wall was covered with books on shelves. Kicking her shoes and clothes from earlier out of the middle of the floor, she hesitated at the foot of the bed, not sure what magic she wanted exactly. So let go of his hand, chewing on her lip as if she might change her mind. "What you did the night we first met, I want that. Only this time I'm not going to fight it off when you bite me..."
