((Sorry, I've been waiting for some other people to post before I continue. I'll give them until this afternoon before I move on without them.))

Alexander held tightly onto Jacob's arm, hoping not to bother him for this, he didn't want to seem like a buren so he kept quiet, witing for them to get going towards the island. He with his other hand held onto his scarf, hoping it wouldn't fall off once again. He stared now over at all the other mutants, wondering why they kept coming.
Kenji listened carefully to Tali as he at the same time tried to steer his way through the woods so they wouldn't get caught."The U.N you say?why would they..."He thought about it for a faint second to figure out what they had wanted to do. Tali was a powerful mutant after all and she was the ultimate weapon for them as well.Kenji then heard her say that another man was ahead, he nodded softly an fallowed her directions, going towards the long way to get out and find safety for her. "This way?"He asked her softly pointing towards the direction he figured she was telling him to go to. He wasn't the best at finding directions through the town or the woods but if what he needed to do was somewhat important for him to do he would do as asked to the best of his abilitys. He wondered if he would need to get into any fights on the way.He was glad to bring his weapon's just in case. ((Sorry i didn't post for a few days, internet died for a while.)) |
((It's okay. :)))
Tali felt another person suddenly, shooting her head up from Kenji's shoulder to get a closer look. He looked very intimidating to the small girl, though Kenji might not find him to be so. Even though he was outside the range of her powers, she could still feel that he was a mutant. "Kenji! He's a mutant! We need to run! I can't copy him because he's too far away!" Tali exploded, wriggling free of Kenji's grasp before running off down the road at full speed, using Kenji's speed and stamina to keep going. Jacob responded to the young girl's question with, "To my island, a safe haven for all mutant kind." It really was quite fortunate that so many mutants were making there way too him, especially if they would join the team. As this thought ran through his head, another man came in. "If you wish to come with us to my mutant island, go ahead and grab on," Jacob said with a smile. After giving everyone plenty of time to make their decision, Jacob focused and created a portal large enough to take them through. Suddenly, in the blink of an eye, they were on the lushly forested island. It had actually been all rock until several mutants with power over ground or plants changed that, and nurtured the vegetation they created to adulthood. "Okay, guys, stay here so I can run you through everything," Jacob requested. "This is my island, though it has no name yet. We have a population of about one hundred and thirteen, excluding you guys, but most of them are weaker mutants. As some of you know, I've been working on creating a team that would respond to mutant crises all over the world. They'd be like the armed forces of the mutant population. I have a feeling you're all very strong, and I ask that you would consider joining. I'd also like to make it known that joining isn't a requirement to live here. I'll take you on a tour in a bit, but first I'd like to see whether or not you'll join the team. So who's in?" ((Note: For the characters that didn't get a chance to grab on yet, you can still say whether or not you grabbed on in your next post. Just use a time-skip type thing. :D)) |
Daemon decided that it would be a good idea to go with this rag-tag group of people. Grabbing on to the man's arm, she was surprised when they were suddenly surrounded by beautiful plants and trees. She quickly stepped away from the group a little bit, looking around at all the different types of trees; she could deffinately enjoy living here. Focussing back on what the man was talking about. Hearing about the team the man was putting together, she found herself hesitating about saying no. She still remembered how her own family had treated her, just because she wasn't human like them, because she looked like their nightmares.
Sighing, she finally stepped forward again, placing her hand over her heart and bowing to the man. "Whatever I have to offer, my skills and abilities, I will help with this cause." That was about as much respect as she was willing to show these people right now, until they had earned it. She stepped back again, and in one smooth movement had her cloak undone from around her neck and covering her back. She flipped the hood up, still a little uneasy around so many people, even if they were all mutants like herself. |
|
"Jacob!" Zenl shouted as he ran toward the new group. "How many did you find? Are they going to join the team?" His voice was louder than it should be, a clear sign of his ability to control sound waves. Zenl had been on the island for around two years, and was one of the first mutants on Jacob's team. He noticed one girl in particular, as she was the only one with a hood up among the entire group. Walking over with his hand stuck out, hoping to make the girl feel better. "Hello, I'm Zenl," he greeted her cheerfully. "What's your name?"
|
Daemon was startled when a younger boy walked over to her and extended his hand. She observed Zenl, looking at him for a moment, before looking down at his hand as if it might bite her should she touch it. Never the less, she knew it was rude not to introduce yourself when you met someone. "Daemon," she said quietly, nodding to the boy, but keeping her hands to herself, and her hood up. It was rather bright on this island, even with all the foliage. She was so used to moving around at night that her eyes needed some form of cover durring the daylight hours, now.

As soon as James grabbed the arm that had many people's hand on they were quickly surrounded by flowers and trees. It was like when he and his family were at this one resort where everybody was warm and kind. But this island seemed more than "warm and kind", instead this place actually seemed more like a home. Either that or James is just thinking too hard while carrying a cat-eared girl. James thought of Jacob's offer and decided to push it to the side until he thought it through some more. The blonde didn't know what his little friend thought about it, but it's probably going to be an immediate yes.
|
Viktoria smiled immediately as they were transported to the island, taking a deep, relaxed breath as she looked about at the group's new surroundings. So this is it. For a long time new, maybe a few months, Viktoria had been searching for this place by both word of mouth and from the skies, but she had never actually found it. For a moment, she wondered where its location was, and why she had missed it, but she was no navigator so she simply shook it off. The most important thing now was simply being here, safe, among her own kind. Smiling as Jacob posed his question, Viktoria refrained from immediately saying 'yes', taking a moment to contemplate once again. Then, of course a moment later, she smiled again, "Count me in." she stated firmly.

The girl started running first. At least things were getting interesting. Serhand kept his bone cleats out and took off at full speed after them. Meanwhile he prepared for battle. He decided to start with his favorite, katanas. He held his arms in front of him with his hand bent backwards. All of a sudden, large spikes of bone shot out of either wrist, extending to about 3 feet. Then he reshaped them into katana-like blades, as sharp as possible. Not only was it deadly, but the fear factor helped too. Most found bones shooting out of the body extremely grotesque. There was no blood this time because he made sure of it, but if he really wanted to creep a person out he would overpump the blood so it came spraying out and dripping all over.
Serhan was going to be careful not to underestimate the girl. He was told she was potentially very dangerous. She could copy mutant powers or something like that. He didn't pay that much attention. Hopefully even if she copied his she would have difficulty managing all the processes it took. It took Serhan years to learn the tricks, it would be embarrassing to see someone just use them. Of course with the level of alert on her, it was entirely possible. One of his tricks was to make sure the bone matter taken from all over the area were intermixed. This way, if the extension is damaged, the damage is spread out through his bone instead of creating a large hole or break when he retracted it. Not to mention it made it quicker to heal. Then there was also stopping the blood flow from the wound created and of course the most important part was to numb the nerves around the area, otherwise the pain would be agonizing. He remembered when he first discovered his powers, the pain was so bad he wanted to die. By now it was second nature to follow all these steps, but he knew if he missed one it would mean trouble. He yelled out "Running just makes it funner for me, silly girl! If you come back I can promise minimal injury at least." He wasn't sure who this other person was. If he was a mutant it certainly wasn't immediately obvious. He thought about exercising caution, for a moment. "Come on, at least don't be a coward you two, let's have a good old fashion brawl. Who's up first? Or you can come at me together, I don't mind!" He yelled, still fervently chasing after them. |
"Good, good," Jacob said in response to Viktoria's application. "Now, if you guys will follow me, I'll take you on your tour." With that, he began walking along a dirt path that appeared to lead to a town of some kind. The buildings were, for the most part, pristine, with lovely flowers growing all over the place. Oddly enough for such a large town/city, there wasn't a single car in sight, or a motorized vehicle for that matter.
"Okay, this is our one and only city," Jacob explained, walking down the main road. "We call it Eden because, for us, it's paradise. We don't use cars or motorized vehicles of any kind, as they cause too much pollution. Instead, several people have decided to use their teleporting powers to make a bit of money. They'll take you anywhere on the island for a small fee; they're like taxis in a way." As they walked, Jason pointed out a few buildings, giving each one a description and what it was exactly. "That over there is the bank," he said, pointing to a large, solemn looking building. "You can exchange your foreign currency for what we use here, so don't worry about it. We do have houses all over the place, but most of them are taken, so you'll probably be bunking in the same house as each other, but don't worry; they're very large space-wise. I'll take you there at the end so you can see it. And that is the supermarket over there." Jacob continued through the list, pointing out every major spot of interest, like the pawn and hobby shop, to the little warehouse on fifth street. At the very end of the tour, Jacob led the group to a rather large, two bedroom house. "Here's your home guys," Jacob said, indicating the rather large, red brick house. "There are two bedrooms, two bathrooms, one living room, and one dining room/kitchen, but the bedrooms take up about twenty-five square feet, so there should be plenty of room. I would prefer it if one room was girls and the other was boys, but I trust you, so I won't press the issue. I'll come back over at seven to help make dinner, but right now I have to get to the city meeting." Jacob had already started walking away by the time he was finished, and it wasn't long before he vanished from the kids' sight. Tali realized that there was no way she could escape the man by running, so she turned around and started charging him instantly. The bone-katanas sticking out of his hands didn't bother her in the least; she had seen much worse when she sparred and used too much strength at once. Still retaining about six minutes of Kenji's speed and strength, Tali quickly got in range of the man. She began copying his powers at once, adding his strength onto Kenji's at the same time. Then she slammed into his legs, making him stagger at the least, though she didn't see as she slipped right between his legs. She stopped inside the seven yard radius from the man, the limit of her range. Knowledge had flooded her when she copied the man's powers. She knew how to control his powers, but she didn't have the skill or experience necessary to handle them like a pro. Hesitantly, she crafted a shield of bone and waited for the man to react. ((Note: I will be putting up a poll on the OOC thread. Be sure to check it out! :D)) |
Daemon walked at the back of the group, walking just close enough that she could hear what Jacob was talking about. When they finally arrived at the rather large home that the entire group of them would be staying in, she nearly froze. Stay with people? Her? One, she didn't really know anyone so she didn't really trust any of them yet. Two, she hadn't slept in any form of bed in over a year, and she was supposed to get used to this? Unfortunately, or fortunately, her stomach chose that moment to growl quietly. She knew no one else would hear it, unless they had super hearing, but she was embarrassed none the less. Ducking her head down more so that her hood would cover her flushed cheeks, she walked past all the others outside the house and walked in.
The interior was nice, cozy even. She was sure she could get used to it in time. She found the kitchen easily, and went to check the fridge. When nothing caught her eye, she simply grabbed an apple out of the bowl on the counter, delighting in the crunch as she bit into it. She had always liked things that made that really loud crunch. She walked over and sat down in the seat that put her back closest to the corner of the walls, waiting for everyone else to come in. |
As Jacob gave the tour Angel listened politely though her mind was wondering else where, she was more interested in meeting other mutants and finding out what there powers were. She followed directly behind her new leader and she wondered how he started all this but she didn't want to interrupt him so she didn't bother to ask. When they came to a large house and he told them that they would all be living together in it, Angel quickly became worried. It had been a long time she had slept in a house and she wasn't sure she could fully trust these people yet. Before she could object, however, Jacob vanished and she let out a sigh. She was going to have to get used to that. When Angel turned back to look at the house as some of the others walked in he took a step away from it. She thought of all the things could go wrong and the one thing that stuck out in her mind was that her wings would be to big for her and the others to live comfortably in that house.
Angel shook her head, she wasn't going to stay in that house. Her wings might not even fit through the door and she was to embarrassed to try. Still, she figured since that was the place where everyone called home she could at least leave her stuff by the door so she took off all her equipment and bag before placing them on the front porch. Then she turned to go explore some of the town, there was not much else she could do at this time. |
Daemon sighed, feeling decidedly uncomfortable in the large house with so many new people. She put her apple core in what she assumed to be a bucket for compost, and walked back out the front door. Vaguely unsure of what to do, she saw the girl with wings from earlier walking away, but with none of the equipment that she had before. Looking down, Daemon saw all of it by the entrance to the house. So this girl was feeling just as unsure as she was. Quickly making a decission, Daemon jogged a bit to catch up with the girl.
"Uh, hi, I'm Daemon. Do you mind if I join you?" Daemon didn't know why she felt more comfortable around this girl. It might be because she was the only other one with such obvious mutations, or something else, but it was true. |
Bielle looked around the island and looked at the man again and for the first time that she was alive, she want ed her family back. "I want my parents. They will be worried about me." Bielle said clinging her claws hands into fist. Bielle was afraid now, her parents were the only humans that actually liked mutants and feared what may happened to them. "Maay they please come here, they love mutants and I believe they would love to meet all of you." she said holding her arm then looked down as the fear her parents would been hunted and be mistakened for mutants.
|
Zenl had followed the group, mainly because there wasn't anything else to do. He too enjoyed the island and all of its features. They eventually came to the house, though Zenl wasn't surprised when Jacob mentioned that they would have to share it. He had to share a house with others too. Two of the new mutants went off on their own, probably to explore or something, though one girl seemed rather upset. "Your parents?" he asked, making sure he heard correctly. "Any human that wants to live here has to be cleared by the City Council, who are meeting now. Come on and we can see about getting permission for them to come here." He finished by grabbing her arm and pulling her to the City Hall.

((wow, I join the rp, nobody responds. I leave for two days, and everything goes wild, lol)
Malcolm, unsure what the man meant by 'mutant island' walked closer, but when the man suddenly teleported through an odd portal, he ran, trying to make it inside. He barely made it, with part of his left shoe missing. Suddenly they were all in a strange place, filled with plants. The man said something about a team for preventing some sort of crisis, but Malcolm was too distracted by the odd place to even really notice. The man then gave them a tour of things, and when they came to a house, the man said that he was going to be back about dinner time, but Malcolm, filled with questions, grabbed onto the man's arm as he teleported. |
((@Aquamat: I know. It happens to me all the time. :D
@Everyone: I never teleported. XD I said he vanished from your sight, meaning that he just walked too far away for you to see. But I'll go with it, so don't worry about editing your posts.)) Jacob felt someone grab onto him as he teleported and looked back to see one of the young mutants he had brought to the island and taken on the tour. They instantaneously arrived outside the City Hall, where the meeting was getting started. "Can I help you?" he asked the boy, amused at his antics. "You could of just asked me to wait up you know. I have a meeting to get to real quick though, so can you keep it short? I'll make sure to talk to you again afterwards, so maybe you'd want to sit in?" NOTE: Please make sure to check out the OOC thread, whose link can be found on the bottom of the profile page of the thread. There is currently a poll going on, and I am looking for ideas as to how Tali meets up with the other mutants. Thank you! :D |
Bielle looked at the boy as he graabbed her arm and pulled her to a buliding. She was surprised that he didn't notice how cold she was. Bielle's skin was a dull grey and her body no longer produced heat which meant that she was always cold on the outside, "I don't feel cold to you?" she asked him as she shoes tapped the new ground she stood on and hoped that the City Council would allow her parents to come here to the island.
|
(Sorry about the one-liner, but I'm not sure what else to put, all my character was doing was asking questions)
"I'm sorry," Malcolm said. "But, where are we?" He looked at the man, a little confused. "Is this that mutant island you spoke of? And what was that team you were talking about?" |
|
Angel was a bit surprised to hear a voice beside her and she jumped slightly. Then she looked over at the girl that had introduced herself as Daemon and she gave her a warm, friendly smile. "Hello, Daemon," Angel said softly. "My name is...Angel," she might as well used the name that everyone called her by. "I don't mind at all if you join me," she told her. It was nice to have someone that she could talk to, it seemed like she had just been through in the mix with ten other strangers. After awhile she looked over at the girl and noticed her wings as well as some of her other none-human-like features. It was the first time she met someone that stood out as much as she did but instead of glad, like she thought she would be, she felt sorry for the girl. She never realized before but she never wanted someone to have to go through what she has gone through. "May I ask what your powers are?" she asked her politely as she looked back at the road they were both walking on. Angel had no idea where she was going but she would find out soon enough.
|
"Yes, we are on my island in the middle of the Pacific," Jacob replied to the boy, peeking inside of the City Hall to see if they were ready. "The team, so far, as only three official members. It's basically a militia force that can respond to any mutant crisis anywhere in the world. Now sorry, but I've really got to get in there. Why don't you head back home and get accustomed to it." He finished with a smile, creating a small portal in case the boy wanted to use it. Dashing inside, he took his seat sheepishly, looking a bit flustered. "Okay gentlemen, we can begin now."
((I'm going to have to say that we need to move on without Menwesha for now. I think her computer may have died again. :P I will be discussing what going on in the meeting in the next post, but if you have any ideas, feel free to post them on the OOC thread. ;))) |
Daemon laughed slightly at Angel's introduction, moving her cloak to like she had it before, in the warehouse. She flexed her wings a little, so that they weren't so cramped feeling. "I'm going to assume that's not your real name, but I won't ask. Daemon's not my real name, either, but I've just gotten used to it." She looked at the other girl, smiling slightly, not even thinking about the fact that she was showing her fangs. "As for your question, I can control fire, though not that much right now, or I'll lose control of it. I suspect I'll get better with practice, but I haven't had much of that. I can also control shadows."
She looked thoughtful for a moment, before chuckling. "Ironic, wouldn't you say? A demon and an angel, walking together, on some random, little known island." She chuckled again, before freezing. "Oh, I'm so sorry. I don't mean to be disrespectful, I'm just used to people thinking the worst of me because of my looks now. I was raised in a very religious household." She scowled a bit at the thought, looking down at her hands and flexing her fingers, watching her claws. |
"Nope, not really," Zenl answered in response to the girl's question. "Why? Is it part of your power? I'm Zenl by the way, but I didn't catch your name." They were almost to the City Hall by when he finished speaking, but they had to hurry, or it could end while they were on their way. The ran down the streets, or what passed for streets. No cars meant that there wasn't a need for asphalt after all. In no time at all, they had arrived, and from the sounds of it, the meeting was still going on.
"Okay, are you ready?" Zenl asked the young girl. "Go ahead and take a few minutes to prepare, but we need to do this tonight." |
