lol. :) It's a good one huh?

TaiyoTsuki 02-27-2011 12:45 AM

Oh yes it is. First saw it when I was....three or four?

sarofset 02-27-2011 01:09 AM

...you are young huh? lol. I saw it when I was tenish.

TaiyoTsuki 02-27-2011 01:43 AM

Hehe, blame my dad for getting me started early. The incarnation of Tenchi that I first saw was Tenchi Muyo. And that was before I even knew what anime was!

Lavinia 02-27-2011 01:53 AM

-pokes hyena's thread-

As im still working my way through your own awesome comic. i came to remind you of Questionable Content once again xD

Tis aaawesommme!

TaiyoTsuki 02-27-2011 02:43 AM

Garret has problems.....Hans has more.

sarofset 02-27-2011 02:46 AM

They are just complicated. lol.

Cardinal Biggles 02-27-2011 03:12 AM

Tenchi was my first anime as well.

I watched a fair amount of Bleach when it was on TV at first. Many, many months worth. It just all struck me as the same thing over and over again.

sarofset 02-27-2011 03:14 AM

That's referred to a filler anime. DBZ is another good example. Anything where the overarching plot is just never accomplished.

Cardinal Biggles 02-27-2011 03:27 AM

what, what I was talking about? Well, it's not even that it was filler, it was just all the sub-plots were very like each other.

sarofset 02-27-2011 04:21 AM

...which makes it filler. lol.

Hyena 02-27-2011 04:58 AM

Biggles is Ophelia. =O

Taiyo, they all have problems. I don't believe that I can possibly say that a single one of my characters does not suffer from some kind of severe... problem.

Lav: If my life weren't busy with constantly writing and being the only legal driver in the house... perhaps I would have time to read QC. xD

Cardinal Biggles 02-27-2011 05:03 AM

BIGGLES IS!
With or without the roses around the waist?

Hyena 02-27-2011 05:08 AM

I don't think they either add or take away from the avatar.

Oh man... its been a long day...

Cardinal Biggles 02-27-2011 05:11 AM

Yes, that's the thing... it can go either way.
Off, for now, I think.

Hyena 02-27-2011 05:20 AM

I think I prefer it without. I understand the symbolism behind the roses, but when it comes to color consistency it isn't so jarring.

Cardinal Biggles 02-27-2011 05:23 AM

Yes. And the original passage only mentions garlands on the tree, I think.

Quote:

There is a willow grows aslant a brook,
167 That shows his hoar leaves in the glassy stream;
168 Therewith fantastic garlands did she make
169 Of crow-flowers, nettles, daisies, and long purples
170 That liberal shepherds give a grosser name,
171 But our cold maids do dead men's fingers call them:
172 There, on the pendent boughs her coronet weeds
173 Clambering to hang, an envious sliver broke;
174 When down her weedy trophies and herself
175 Fell in the weeping brook...

Hyena 02-27-2011 05:29 AM

Yeeeeah... I'd go without the roses. xD

Plus... I'm not a fan of roses in general. >_____>

Cardinal Biggles 02-27-2011 05:30 AM

You know, same here. I like more earthy flowers, like sunflowers and poppies. Roses are just so frou-frou.

Hyena 02-27-2011 05:32 AM

I don't like the way they smell... >>

Both me and Liz are fans of lilies. I'm a personal fan of climbing vines and things that manage to grow in the desert. Cacti! <3

Cardinal Biggles 02-27-2011 05:33 AM

On the lily front, I am enamored of water lilies, as well as lily of the valley.

Hyena 02-27-2011 05:39 AM

Water Lilies are so pretty. I used to draw them all the time as a kid. I like things that are fragile, and yet survive. Its poetic.

.__.

sarofset 02-27-2011 05:40 AM

You think roses are frufru? They're the only flowers witch were once made into weapons.

Also lilies were once called roses. The medieval rose is a climbing lily.

and besides black irises FTW!!

Cardinal Biggles 02-27-2011 05:43 AM

it is indeed poetic. They are one of the most evocative of all flowers, if you ask me.

Ah, irises. though I must admit, I'd drawn to those that are rich purple in hue, over the black. Though those are quite striking.

Hyena 02-27-2011 05:45 AM

I don't care if lilies were once called 'roses.' People give inappropriate names to a lot of things. Like calling the Twilight Series "entertaining."

Irises are pretty. Bulb plants usually are. We participated in "beautify the highway" project by planting tulips along US 31.
