First job
What was your first paying job? If you had many job what job was the worst or the best? For me is when I worked in the cotton fields that's my first worst job! My favorite one was when I worked at a perfum factory. Miss that job was really fun and I did enjoy going to work.

My first non official paying job was as a gardener, I grew flowers and sold them to neighbours.
My first official job was working in a delivery room of a sports store. |
I used to pet sit a lot. Then I got hired in at a pet store and worked there.

Paper route when I was 12, then when I was 16 the shop that I did the paper route for asked me to start working in the shop before school (to sort out all the newspapers so they were ready for the paper boys/girls to collect). 5:30am start every morning >.< Then they asked me to also work in the shop (selling general junk to people) at weekends and school holidays. Since I had a massive crush on the guy in charge, I couldn't not say yes. The pay was pretty poor, but I didn't care, it kept me in cigarettes and gave me some nice eye candy to drool over. I spent pretty much my entire pay packet in the shop, so they had a pretty good deal lol
First full time job, after finishing university was a Travel agent. Did. Not. Like. At all! Horrible job in a horrible place with horrible people. Thankfully it only lasted 3 months :D |
Hmm. My first job was as a catering assistant in a nice little cafe. So basically cleaning tables and taking tea and crumpets out for the older generation.
My worst job, but best paid job was working in a call centre for a bank. Such miserable customers, but i was getting more than ever. I was actually gutted when that job ended though cause im now penniless again. my favourite job was probably bar work. Although the pay was rubbish and i never got enough to last me. I enjoyed every minute. No unhappy customers at a bar! :) |
...............^^'.........Sora hasn't had a job ever yet.....that'll change soon since Sora's a sophomore in college and is getting an internship soon XP

My first job was shelf-stacking in a supermarket. It was lame.
But it wasn't my worst job. My worst job was working in a tiny little curtain shop with a small bunch of old ladies. That was worse, because I couldn't even hang out and chat to people when I was on a break, I just had to sit upstairs in the break room on my own, because there wasn't enough staff for more than one person to have a break at a time. My best job ever was when I was a magician's assistant. Nothing huge, just a few nights a week at our local theatre, but it was fun. |
Never had an "official" job, my brother wouldn't let me get one when I was in high school...Well, no, he wanted me to get one, but he wouldn't get the "nanny" to drive me to even apply to jobs, and the public transportation only went by my house once every 2 hours...and took an hour to get to the depot, and then another hour to get the two malls in the area...which isn't exactly ideal for getting to a job after school.
In college, still no job because I couldn't drive, because my brother was too busy to teach me in high school. I dropped out after a semester, and did some modeling briefly, which brought in some much needed extra cash, but it wasn't a long term thing, and since then I've been frantically applying to jobs everywhere. But to be fair, this area is really really bad with jobs right now, damn "recession." And no, I don't live off my family's money (or even live with them anymore), I live off my money from my trust fund because both my parents died, and the money I get every month is enough to fill and feed a meager lifestyle, which I'm okay with. I'd just like another $1000 or so a month so I can afford my own apartment AND afford to save some, but that will come when I get a job, I hope. XD |
First I walked this one old-lady's dogs, they were the two cutest little things but I don't remember what type of dogs they were.
Then I waitressed. Still do. It's okay. |
My first job was delivering flyers around my neighbourhood. Got something like 70c per flyer, which was about $70 per month, and that was when I was probably 12 or 13. Hated that one.
My job I hated the most, was probably this past summer when I worked out in the mountains at a hikers lodge "cooking". The reason I put cooking in quotations is because I only did dishes and breakfast 2 days a week, for 5 months, and got the shit end of the stick 15 times out of 10. Yelled at for mopping the floor the night before, working a VERY busy breakfast the next day(and it was raining outside) and the floor was dirty when the chef came in at 10:30, which was 30minutes before breakfast ended, and I could actually clean it up. Despised that job, stuck with it, and walked away with a $1700 bonus check, and $800-900 in cash for the tips earned over the whole summer. Oh, and I only got paid $8/hr, in a industry that minimum pay is 99% of the time $12/hr. The best job for me, is my current one. Working in a restaurant weekdays, and doing the lunches. Love the people I work with, love the food I get to sample...or just plain eat. And Ive learnt alot more from this place in the 5 months Ive been here, than I did in the 5 months at the lodge. Though, Im brining in about the same amount of money a cheque, and getting paid $12/hr. Only due to the really cold weather, and people not having as much money as they did before christmas(or they are just saving it so they can spend it all around christmas time). |
I have never had a job, official/paying or otherwise, and really have no clue when I'll manage to get one. I've tried all sorts of things, applied to everything I saw available, and just had no luck. So now I'm taking a break from all that to try and sort out some other things in my life first, then going to see about vocational rehabilitation for the second time.

My first and only job was working at a vinyl shop.
I worked for my cousin, Denise, who really doesn't know how to manage money or time. I worked for only two hours a day, (3 - 5pm) after school and worked 9 - 1 on Saturday. I didn't do much, except put signs together and occasionally put some vinyl on cars and what-not. I wasn't ever really fired, let go, or anything like that. She just never called me back in after Christmas. It was an okay job, I guess. I had to deal with my spoiled little cousin whom I hate and had to deal with the customers a lot. (I'm not too much of a people person.) But it put money in my pocket and my bank account. |
My first job was a grill person at McDonalds. I still work at McDonalds now to help support my way through university, but now I am a shift manager. I really enjoy drive-thru though so I think I might go back and ask to just be placed on drive-thru just because I find the responsiblity of being a shift manager sometimes stressful because you can have both the crew and the customers being mad at you and such.

My first job was working as a food runner and baker at a buffet-style restaurant. The managers there were terrible, the customers were even worse, and the pay wasn't worth the hassle. I ended up quitting, and a few months later, the entire restaurant went out of business.
The best and worst job I had was working at a call center for a baby food/product company. That place taught me just how awful and entitled some people can be over the smallest things. I mean, seriously... the world is not going to stop spinning because the lid on your kid's sippy cup doesn't match the others. And nothing is worse than having someone screaming in your ear over something so insignificant while their child is wailing in the background, the dog is barking, and the TV volume is at 11. However, it was also a really rewarding job when you helped someone who genuinely had a problem, whether it was an issue with the food or just a stressed mom needing someone to talk to. My favorite, though, was an elderly woman who had a couple of cats. All she ever wanted were cents-off coupons and someone to listen for awhile so she didn't feel so lonely. I don't work there anymore, but I still think about her now and then and wonder how she's doing. :) |
My first (and only) job was as a waitress. I have such a poor sense of balance and a weird way of holding things I was always paying damages out of my wages. I hated that job with a passion...
|
I got my first job today as a translator. I used to translate documents for family members, friends and acquaintances before, but I have never done this as a paying job until now.
|
Hmmmm, my first job if I do not recall was on a horse farm. It was actually kind of fun, besides the fact I had to muck stalls. Other then that aspect I actually really did love the job. It was fun being around the horses and also one of my best friends. Though honestly it wasn't worth what I got paid. But it was definitely a good starter job.
|
My first job was at a McDonald's and it actually wasn't half bad.
My worst job was easily Wal-Mart. Absolutely horrible. My favorite job to date was when I worked in an afterschool program. The pay was $13.25 an hour and my first day on the job I got to go on a field trip to a farm where we saw a rooster attack one of the farmhands and a cow would not stop licking my purse. I also had great kids. I made friends with all of the "problem" children. They're the most fun ;) |
Job.
My first, and still my current and only job, is transcribing reports for an office. It's easy and I'm fast at it, I listen to a recording on tape and type it out on the computer and print it out. I used to work at the office but I guess I wasn't as good at the other office tasks as they would have liked me to be so they have me work at home doing only the transcription now. Which is nice since I do things on my own schedule now and I don't have to wake up early and feel tired all day, and I hated filing folders. But it's a little disappointing that they didn't think I was good enough to keep in the office and I get paid slightly less now. At least it keeps my schedule open for finding a second job, but of course I haven't been able to find a second job.

My first 'non-official' job was a petsitter--paid really well because my neighbors were loaded! $100 for a weekend. :D
My first 'official' job was at an animal clinic as an assistant. My favorite job is my current one, because I get paid $30 an hour. EDIT: My worst job was working at a dairy farm. I had 4am shifts on weekends. D: |
First and only job so far has been working for wedding planner. Which wasn't too bad but my boss was a bit....off.
