Mewtwo waited until she was outside and on her way again before he popped in. "You have one of the eggs." It wasn't a question, but he did sound pleased. "Where is your companion?"
Margaret jumped when he appeared out of nowhere.
"She's outside of Cianwood," she replied, one hand over her heart. "Please don't do that again. Only one of my group knows Teleport, and she doesn't do it often." |
"I apologize," Mewtwo said after a moment. "We should go find her. I know the general direction, but you will have to tell me when we are close."
"Alright," Margaret replied. She adjusted her bag on her shoulders and recalled Espeon. "Ready when you are."
Mewtwo nodded and the two rose into the air before hurtling towards Cianwood. It didn't take them very long to get close.
Margaret couldn't help but think that this had to be the best possible way to travel. It didn't make her nervous anymore, on the contrary, she was perfectly comfortable with it now.
"She lives in on a breeding ranch," she said once they got close to Cianwood. |
Mewtwo nodded and steered them away from the city and over to the ranch, landing them a little ways outside.
Aleron was outside working, trying to get rid of her frustration and anger that way instead of yelling at someone. |
Margaret saw Aleron, and also saw the axe she was holding.
"I take it everything isn't okay?" she called over to her friend, keeping a safe distance away. |
"No." Aleron chopped another piece of wood, the two halves falling to the side. "My mom lied to me. She'd taken me to Silph Co before. My dad used to work there." A little snarl on her face, she split another piece of wood. "She never told me anything. Neither of them did."
"Well, when you're done taking it out on the woodpile, we can leave," Margaret offered.
"Where are we going?" Aleron looked at her, frowning a little.
Margaret shrugged.
"Anywhere?" she said. "Back to Ecruteak, maybe, or Violet. This egg in my bag is really cold, and I want it literally off my back." |
"Yeah, I don't know if I should leave this one here or take it with us wrapped in a blanket or something." Aleron frowned a little and chopped more wood.
"I wouldn't leave it behind," Margaret replied. "What if something happens?"
Aleron nodded and chopped some more wood in silence for a minute. "Well, I'll be ready to go again in a minute. Just need to get my things together."
"That's fine," Margaret said. "Go get your things, I'll wait here."
Aleron nodded and left, heading inside only to grab her things. She jogged out to the barn and got the egg, packing it into her bag with a blanket around it before she walked over to them.
"Alright, let's go." |
Margaret nodded.
"Come on, let's get back to the mainland," she said. "I'll feel better once we're at least back in Olivine and not practically stranded out here." |
Aleron nodded a little. "Okay. Let's get going."
Margaret nodded and followed Aleron.
Aleron set out to the ocean, waiting for the next boat to leave. She felt like taking her time and going over water.
Margaret walked with her.
"So, did you have any issues getting the egg?" she asked. |
"No, not really," Sera said with a shrug. "It was easier than I expected. Just had to slip past security."
"I had to wait until Silph Co. closed for the day before I could get in," Margaret said. "There was surprisingly little security, though."
"They probably don't expect people to try to break in." Aleron shrugged.
