"Have you seen my whole group?" Trent asked. He couldn't remember if she had or not. "Granted, they're all water-types, but still."

"Not as a group, no," Aleron said with a shrug. "But since I know all my pokemon and all Margaret's, I figured out which ones don't belong. Especially the few dark-types. Since any of Margaret's flip out when they see a dark type."

Trent grinned.

"Want to meet them?" he asked. "Shallow water only, I promise." He held out a hand to her.

Aleron wavered for a moment before she nodded. "Okay," she agreed, taking his hand and letting him lead the way over to the pond.

Trent led her over into water just barely calf-deep. Wooper splashed around Trent's feet playfully, and he grinned as he reached down to pick it up.

"This is my newest pokemon," he said to Aleron. "Wooper is still young." He gestured to three others lounging about in the warmer water. "Lombre, Poliwrath, and Blastoise. Blastoise was my starter, and I caught Poliwrath as a Poliwag real early as well." Then he gestured to the deeper water. "Lady and Duchess are out there. You've seen Lady, I'm sure. I caught her about the same time as Poliwrath. Duchess is a Kingdra, she looks after Wooper and Lombre."

Almost as if they knew they were being talked about, Lady and Duchess surfaced briefly to see what was going on.

Aleron waved briefly to the two pokemon before looking at all the rest. "Way too many water-types for me, but that's just me. They all look good." She smiled a little, looking at them all again.

"All of them but Blastoise are half-types," Trent said. "I tried to make it as balanced as I could." He grinned when Sharpedo surfaced as well to see what was going on. "Oh, and Sharpedo belongs to Quen. We overlap a bit with him."

"Yeah, I can see that. At least there's one that both of you understand." Aleron shrugged. "It's a neat team, though, I have to admit."

"Thanks," Trent replied, grinning. "We all work hard together." He looked at her, curious. "What about your group? I mean, I've met Red, and I've seen your Jolteon, but do you have any others?"

"Vulpix, obviously," Aleron said with a shrug. "I'm still in the process of training Houndour. I also have Rapidash, Eevee, and a Pikachu, but they're not in my active battle team. Rapidash has elected herself mother to about half the little ones here."

"A pikachu as well?" Trent asked. "You sure you're good with fire-types and not electric-types?" He grinned a bit, teasing.

Aleron rolled her eyes. "The Pikachu was a gift from my brother. He caught one, and the other kept following him around, so he gave the other one to me so it would have someone to latch onto." She grinned briefly. "Besides, that way all my bases are covered. And there aren't any fire-electric types that I know of."

"There aren't, last I checked," Trent agreed. "That would be more explosive than a bag of Voltorbs." He looked at her. "Not a bad group, though."

Aleron grinned. "Yea. All I need to do is get Red to listen to me more frequently." She huffed when she saw her Gyarados start over towards them, clearly intent on finding out what his trainer was doing in the water.

Lady was watching Red warily, ready to step in, so to speak, if he made a move against Trent.

"Eh, he'll listen eventually," Trent replied. "Most pokemon do."

"Oh I know. I'm just trying to give him time." Aleron watched Red, and only blinked when he flicked his tail at her, clearly asking if she wanted to go swimming.

Trent grinned at the invitation. Even if Red was planning to dunk her or something, a swim would still be fun.

"Come on," he said holding a hand out to her. "The water's not bad, and there are plenty of pokemon around to keep an eye on things. Come for a swim."

Aleron hesitated for a moment before she nodded. "Alright," she agreed, slowly getting into the water.

As soon as she was in, though, Red grumbled and snaked around her, pulling her off away from Trent. Because clearly he didn't trust the other trainer.

Lady lowered her head and let Trent climb on, grumbling at Red the whole time. There was no reason not to trust her trainer, she didn't see what the problem was.

"Easy, Lady," Trent said as Lady went into a shallow dive. "You're always wary of other trainers, too, you know."

Aleron was kind of surprised at how protective Red was being, but she didn't question it, instead managing to clamber onto his back so he could swim and she could laze.

After a little while, Lady left Trent to swim and went back to being curled up at the bottom of the lake, grumbling again about pretty, infuriating males. Trent just chuckled as he floated on his back.

"I think Lady likes Red," he commented.

"What makes you say that?" Aleron blinked, looking over at him. Jolteon had paddled out to join her on Red's back and was currently sprawled out half in the water.

"She can't stop grumbling about him," Trent replied. He grinned more. "And she thinks he's attractive. She keeps calling him pretty."

Aleron laughed at that, patting Red's back. "Well he is pretty," she teased with a grin. "He's an odd color. That's bound to get some attention."

"From what I understand, alternately-colored pokemon are considered highly attractive," Trent said. "Being rare and all. So I think Lady might have her eye on Red."
