I couldn't really get into it. It tries to build suspense but just manages to kind of be vaguely boring in an ominous manner. At least the first couple of episodes. It just didn't hold my attention.

Well, keep in mind the last time I saw the full anime I was like 13 or 14 and everything japanese was awesome.
It does get a little boring and confusing.
I can't even watch the first like, 5 or 6 episodes anymore.

Yeah but with something like boogiepop you have to get through those first five or six episodes in order to understand what's going on...but getting through those first episodes is a bitch.
