Hey guys!

Guess what? I'm getting over being sick! Again. For the second time in two weeks. :stare: Two completely different illnesses.

quasievilgenius 02-26-2011 02:49 AM

ouch. are you familiar with the term "overachiever?"

Mon is currently taking a nap. Again.

fairywaif 02-26-2011 03:23 AM

Is she sick or something?

momochan 02-26-2011 03:24 AM

*twirls scythe* I have always wanted to do that! :squee: How is everyone?

quasievilgenius 02-26-2011 03:33 AM

Doin alright.

It's not really sick, I don't think, although I suppose it is possible that she's GOING to be sick soon, which would explain the lethargy and such.

Most of it is there's just been a lot of stress lately and I think it's worn her down some. We both had a couple of weeks of really horrific insomnia and so we're still kind of recovering from that...I can usually do it with one good 12 hour block of sleep...it takes her a little more, I think. She's been sleeping a lot lately. I'm not gonna argue with it, I'm just gonna hope she feels better soon.

momochan 02-26-2011 03:34 AM

I hope monmon feels better soon too, quasievilgenius.

fairywaif 02-26-2011 03:35 AM

Yeah, I hope so too.

My sister LOVES scythes, but the skull kind of freaked her out, I guess. and for some reason she doesn't like my peacock scythe either.

momochan 02-26-2011 03:36 AM

fairy: maybe she just likes regular plain scythes?

quasievilgenius 02-26-2011 03:36 AM

double-scythe for the win?

momochan 02-26-2011 03:38 AM

A double scythe sounds AWESOME! I would so get one, if they sold them around here. xD

quasievilgenius 02-26-2011 03:39 AM

honestly I get the feeling it would cause a weird aesthetic imbalance in the negative space over the avatar's left shoulder, and depending on blade length and width could conceivably block out a chunk of face as well.

fairywaif 02-26-2011 03:40 AM

Yeah, I guess so.

They should TOTALLY make that an item soon. They could make it go behind the back?

quasievilgenius 02-26-2011 03:44 AM

It's possible. I don't know enough to be able to say anything really, I'm neither a coder nor a pixelist, but I'm not sure that they could make one side of the item layer beneath something while the rest of the item layers above it? It's possible, and I'm sure it could be done, I'm just not sure if that's how they do it. I haven't seen enough of the avatar elements layering together to pretend I know what I'm talking about. It would be cool though.

Although technically I suppose you could just move the WHOLE scythe behind the back, get that bad ass Magus look going on.

momochan 02-26-2011 03:46 AM

I think its possible to make it, they would just have to figure out a good pose for it.

quasievilgenius 02-26-2011 03:51 AM

basically, yeah. I think given the arm position in the down pose, it shouldn't be hard to layer a handheld item like a double scythe in one hand at either a slight angle behind the back or at like...a 45 degree kind of angle diagonally from right shoulder to left hip. So that an attack would basically be a wide arcing horizontal swing or a diagonal upward cut starting from the hip to shoulder to follow through.

Which I'm sure makes infinitely more sense in my head than out loud, since I can see it in my head.

fairywaif 02-26-2011 03:54 AM

Wow, you really thought this through! I think it's totally possible, but I don't know if they'll do it any time soon since they do have two already but it would be neat.

momochan 02-26-2011 03:56 AM

I hope they do though...I want something AWESOME! I hope next months CI's are AWESOME. :)

quasievilgenius 02-26-2011 03:57 AM

Actually, I didn't put any thought into it. That's just kinda...how my brain streams.

There's very little conscious effort behind it.

momochan 02-26-2011 03:58 AM

quasievilgenius: >> sweeeet.

quasievilgenius 02-26-2011 03:59 AM

not really. it NEVER stops.

It's one of the reasons I have trouble sleeping. I can be exhausted, up for 48 hours ready to die, and if I lay down and I'm not careful, I'll start thinking about story ideas, world ideas, characters, magic systems, or I'll have pre-emptive conversations that I'm going to actually have in the future with people in my head trying to figure out angles of approach and the overall potential worth of the exchange.

my brain...never...stops.

Which is why I smoked a lot of weed for a lot of years. It slows me down to one or two or three thoughts at a time.

----------

I'd probably be a hell of a chess player, if I'd ever learned proper chess strategy. Unfortunately I'm...not bad at it, but I'm not really good at it either. Solitaire, on the other hand...record time as of this morning for three-card draw solitaire: 52 seconds.

fairywaif 02-26-2011 04:04 AM

You sound like me when I'm manic. I mean, you might want to consider seeing a psych. Even if you don't get depressed, I think you can have mania. I think it's under-diagnosed because people don't always think it's a problem.

Lavinia 02-26-2011 04:08 AM

hai guyssss!

-is not exactly sane--

quasievilgenius 02-26-2011 04:09 AM

Actually, brain activity is the exact same whether I'm depressed or not. It's not mania, so much, as ADHD. I don't have the physical hyperactivity, I'm incredibly lethargic actually, but my brain runs on jet fuel or something.

momochan 02-26-2011 04:10 AM

*would so say what goes on in her head but wont because she doesn't want people to think she is even more insane then she already is*

quasievilgenius 02-26-2011 04:11 AM

Trust me, the odds of it being that much worse than what goes on in my head on an average day...are less than 30%.
