Nika walked with him carefully. Yes, he'd healed her, but she was still exhausted. At least she knew Pan would be appropriately dealt with, and she would never have to see the bastard again.
Cheered by that thought, she barely even blinked when they moved over to Seth and Dawn, who had clearly been kissing. At least they weren't doing it right in front of Jason, she mused. "Okay. Home now." Seth snickered and didn't move just yet. Mostly because Dawn was still sitting on him. "Yeah, yeah," he muttered. "We're going, don't worry." |
Dawn blushed slightly, but gave them both a look that just dared them to comment. She got up off of Seth's lap and held out a hand to haul him to his feet, then looked at her brother and Nika.
"We can go back to my place," she offered. "Or we can just head back to camp, but it's farther away." |
"Your place," Nika said immediately. She wasn't going to last long enough to get back to camp, and she wanted to be awake until she got somewhere safe enough to crash.
Seth nodded his agreement. They could go to Dawn's place and then make it back to camp after they'd all rested some. |
"Alright," Dawn replied. "Back to the car, then. I think I'll be cleared to drive this time."
Jason nodded and helped Nika down the stairs, outside to Dawn's car. Resting for a while sounded like a really good idea. |
Nika got in the back with Jason, leaning against him once they were in.
Seth settled in the passenger seat, glancing over at Dawn. "Sure you're okay to drive?" |
"Okay enough to get us there," Dawn replied as she started the car. "We'll be alright, don't worry about it." Now that the major crisis was over, she was less likely to get any sort of vision while she was driving.
|
Seth nodded after a moment and relaxed back against his seat. "Let me know if you need me to take over or anything," he offered quietly.
|
"I will," Dawn replied as she headed towards home. "For now, go ahead and rest. I'm good for now." She was likely the least tired of them all; Jason had done more healing that day than ever before, Seth had been dead, and Nika beat Pan into the ground. Compared to that Dawn had sat on the sidelines waving a little flag.
|
Seth nodded after a moment. "Alright," he said quietly. He yawned briefly and settled in for the drive back. Even if the other two fell asleep he was going to stay awake keeping Dawn company.
|
Dawn made sure to keep the volume of the radio in the car low, so that the other three could rest. The ride back was quiet and uneventful, not counting the bit of traffic they hit, and it didn't take longer than it should have to get back to her apartment. Finally, she parked the car and killed the engine.
|
Seth got out and stretched, yawning briefly. Finally back. "Still doing okay?" he asked, looking at Dawn.
Nika yawned, struggling out of the car and shuffling her way over to the door. Because she was just this side of dead on her feet. |
"I'm fine," Dawn replied quietly. "I didn't do as much as the rest of you, remember? I just kind of ran around."
Jason went and helped Nika inside. "You'll feel better in a few days," he commented to her softly. "Maybe less, depending on how much more of it I can heal." |
"Even still, it's been a long few days for everyone," Seth said quietly. Hopefully she'd take some time to sit and relax too. Maybe even nap with him.
Nika nodded. "Don't worry about that," she said quietly, though her voice was still scratchy. "I'll heal on my own." |
"Yeah," Dawn replied. "Go on inside and settle in. I'll see about ordering in some pizza or something for everyone."
"I know you will," Jason replied quietly. "I just want to help." |
Seth nodded and opened the door, letting everyone in and going to sit on the couch.
"I know," Nika said quietly. "But even you don't have limitless energy." She looked at him for a moment before she moved inside to go collapse somewhere. Fortunately she made it to a chair first. |
"For you, I'd try," Jason replied just as quietly. He kept an eye on her until she'd made it safely to a chair, and then settled himself on the couch.
|
Nika yawned again and curled up in the chair, falling asleep almost immediately.
Seth looked over at Dawn, keeping track of her. He didn't want her to wear herself out now or anything. Besides, he wasnt sure if she was really as okay as she said she was. |
Dawn moved around the apartment quietly, making sure everything was alright. The apartment really wasn't designed to house more than two or three people overnight, but she would give up her bed if she had to. Besides, it would give her a chance to be useful, unlike earlier.
|
Seth watched her moving around. "I can go grab the pizzas if you want," he offered. Because now he was hungry. Apparently coming back from the dead will do that to a person.
|
"They'll deliver," Dawn replied. "It's fine. You go ahead and settle in."
|
Seth nodded after a moment, settling down. "Why don't you come sit?" he suggested quietly.
|
"I was going to make sure there was enough in the pantry to tide us over for a couple days," Dawn said evasively. Oh, she did want to go settle in with him, but she still didn't feel like she'd done quite enough yet. They had all done a lot over the last day and she... hadn't.
|
Seth frowned but gave up for the moment, letting her bustle around. Once food arrived, though, he was going to make her sit and eat.
|
It didn't take long for the pizzas to arrive, and Dawn made sure she was ready with the right kind of money. She'd accidentally tried to pay in drachmas once, and it hadn't gone over well. She pulled some paper plates out of the pantry and set them next to the pizza boxes.
"Dinner," she called to the others. |
Seth got up and went to go get food first, catching her briefly around the waist and kissing her cheek.
"Thanks," he said quietly. |
