One afternoon just after his return to Spira, Tidus was walking down the beach. It was one of those really hot days, and he wished that he could go for a swim. But today was a very busy day. He was part of a team of people cleaning up the debris and litter on the island. Somehow things had gotten to be quite a mess in the last few months.

Yuna was one of the people who volunteered to help clean up the beach. She hated seeing things destroyed like this and was going to do everything she could to help. She kept a smile on her face to help keep good spirits up for the people who volunteered. But the work was going slow because of the hot sun. But they kept pushing through, which was good.

Word had reached to Lulu and Wakka just the day before telling them that Rikku and Paine, who were traveling around the world, had seen several places just as bad if not worse then Besaid. Bikanal Desert was the worst because they didn't know how bad the garbage and debris were piled up. Tidus smiled as he got a drink from his canteen. He was glad that he was working on Besaid instead of Bikanal.

Yuna smiled lightly when she seen how much progress they were making on the clean-up. The sooner they were done here, the sooner she could go and help with other places that were in worse shape than the island. Lulu had told her what Rikku and Paine had said about the Bikanal Desert and she knew that was the next place she was going to go.

Night came late that day, as it always did in the summer. Tidus walked back to the Hut he shared with a couple of the Aurochs. He would meet up with Yuna after he got himself something to eat.

Supper took only a few minutes and then he was off again. He made his way to the temple where Yuna stayed until they married and he had a hut built for the two of them. He entered the temple and knocked at Yuna's door.

Yuna had went back to the village when the sun started to set, as did most of the people on the island. She kept the smile on her face til she reached her room in the temple. It faded for a second. It started to hurt her face after smiling all day, but she would do it day after day gladly. Anything to give the people hope.

She went over to her dresser and grabbed a brush from the top. She ran it through her hair a few times when she heard the knock on her door. She smiled lightly when she opened it. "Hey." she greeted.

Tidus couldn't help but smile when he saw Yuna's beautiful face. He remembered the pain on it the day he disappeared all too clearly and he wanted to keep her from being in that kind of pain again. He didn't want her to hurt because of him. "Can I come in?" He asked, smiling back at her.

Yuna's smile grew slightly as she nodded. "Yeah. Of course." she said, taking a step back to let him into the room. She was so glad she got to spend so much time with him. Especially since she spent so much time looking for him when he disappeared. Lulu had told her that there was a high chance that he would be gone forever, but Rikku kept her faith strong. Now that he's back, she was going to do everything in her power to keep him around for as long as she could.

Tidus walked into Yuna's room. If the priests caught him in there they would throw a fit. It didn't matter that Yuna was unaffiliated now. She was the High Summoner. She was to be married off to the best person possible to make more. That was as far as the priests were concerned. And Tidus was not the best choice for the High Summoner in the New Yevon Priests' eyes.

Yuna smiled lightly and went to take a seat on the bed. She knew it was technically right for Tidus to be in her room. But she figured she's broken plenty of rules in the past that one more wouldn't be a big deal. "What brings you here?" she asked, pushing a strand of hair out of her eyes. Not that she minded the visit. But she was still curious.

((OMG! I'm so sorry for taking so long to answer! I would have gotten it sooner, but things started piling up on me and it slipped my mind. Please forgive me!))

((It's ok. I was gone for a while and so I don't blame you. It took me a while to get caught back up.))

Tidus's smile faded. "Don't you remember? We agreed to meet up after clean up to spend some time together. We're getting married in a week. And I need to tell you what I have done on the Hut so far." He couldn't understand why she was so forgetful of their 'date'.

A confused look crossed Yuna's face for a second before comprehension showed. "Oh! I'm so sorry!" she exclaimed. How could she have forgotten?! "My mind's been so distracted with the clean-up that it completely slipped my mind! Please forgive me!" She jumped up from her seat quickly, feeling horrible that she had actually managed to forget.

Tidus walked over and hugged Yuna. "It's ok. There were only two things that I thought of to keep me going all day. Seeing you and seeing this island clean again." He couldn't stand to see her upset either. Tidus said, "Why don't we go on a walk? We can talk somewhere where no one can bother us."

Yuna nodded, glad that Tidus wasn't mad at her. She really hadn't meant to forget. She smiled lightly and grabbed hold of his hand so that they could walk together. "Alright. Where would you like to go?" she asked. Anywhere was fine with her, just as long as they were together.

Tidus thought. "I like the idea of you showing me that cave that Wakka showed you. I've never been there. It might be a nice place to go to be alone so we're not interupted." Tidus's intetions were pure but if any of the priests were to hear what he just said they would think that they weren't. He lead her out of the room and out of the temple.

Yuna smiled as she nodded, glad none of the priests were around to hear that. They always took what Tidus says and takes it the wrong way. "Of course." she said, leading him out of the temple. She made sure to smile at everyone that they passed on their way to the cave. She could tell that they were all tired and weary and she hoped that they'd have the island cleaned up soon so that the people of Besaid could rest.

Tidus felt sorry for the people of Besaid. They were weary and worn out. The cleaning had been going on for several days already with no apparent end in sight. Once in the cave the young man looked around and whistled. It was an impressive sight.

Yuna smiled lightly as she looked around the cave. She hasn't been here in quite some time. She turned her attention over to Tidus after a long moment of silence. "So... What'd you want to talk about?" she asked, looking at him curiously

Tidus finally turned his attension away from the sights around him to his love. "I wanted to tell you that I've almost got the hut finished. I only have to finish the roof and it's done. You know, except for the stuff that's going into it. I figured that you would want to decorate. You've never had a chance to make something your own before." Then he thought for a moment. "And I also wanted to talk to you about, Cleanning. And how it will affect our getting married."

Yuna smiled brightly, unable to resist throwing her arms around Tidus and hugging him. "That's great news!" She exclaimed, thrilled that their Hut was going to be completed soon. She couldn't wait for them to finally move in together. She took a step back to give him a little space as she tilted her head thoughtfully. "Well... At the rate things are going, we should be done with all the cleaning by the time we are getting married." At least, she hoped that was true.

Tidus shuffled his feet a bit as he looked away from her. "It's going to be longer then that. I heard Wakka and Lulu talking the other day. They got news that we might have to help others elsewhere." He sighed, "But you knew that already. The thing is that Wakka said that the priest are thinking of shipping you off right away. That he overheard them talking about how it would keep us from getting married. Lulu said that you would want to marry me before you left, so that if there was a chance that marriage would keep me here I would stay. But Wakka insisted that they have some sort of plan to keep us apart. Or at least from following through. Like they want me to die again or something."
