My Poems
Autumn Nights
The night sky Looming overhead Full moon shining Over the land of the dead. Far off in the trees, A lone wolf howls. Crying out his needs Before he's off on the prowl. A gentle breeze blows All across the land But hardly a soul knows Especially not man. The moon starts to fall Birds wake and take flight. The wolf repeats his call To say good-bye to the night. Broken Doll Just another broken doll Lain on a dusty shelf. Just another long-lost toy Whose company is self. A bright pink dress and blue-hued eyes These features draw you near. Oh me, oh my, I ask myself, "How did I end up here?" A frown, a sigh, The question, "Why?" These things come from my mouth. No answer comes and I look around To see an empty house. I'm still a little broken doll Perched on my dusty shelf I look around as years pass by And see no one but myself. I am but a memory That slowly fades away. I am but a memory That fades like night to day. And years from now you'll think of me And all the time we shared Just look up on my dusty shelf I promise I'll be there. O Joy! O joy! - My heart cries joy! At merely the sight of you. Love, it whispers, love, it screams As only you make it do. My soul climbs high, Yelling joy! O joy! Such joy! This is love, o love, Love like no one knows. I love you! I love you! O how I wish you know. Wish you knew how you make me laugh, Wish you knew how you make me cry, Wish you know how you make me happy, Wish you were here with a fool such as I. Joy, so much joy, Joy just because we talked last night. |
