Warmth. A strange warmth had found its way onto his back and seemed to be chasing away the cold. A deep groan was emitted as the being began to twitch, regaining consciousness as he came to his senses. The process was slow as it always seemed to be so after a night like the one he had just experienced. "Where am I?" Barely audible words were formulated through the groaning as the male shifted to sit up. The warmth that had been focused on his back now was placed directly in his face. It was sunlight, pure and true. Sitting still with muscles strained and his ears alert, Sebastien Manuel De Gillet finally sighed softly letting himself relax. Around him was the usual sounds of day creatures waking up to greet the morning, he had managed to make it back to his grounds before he had let the darkness take over. He tried to remember the events leading up to the night before and during, but found that he was only able to momentarily grasp glimpses of what may have transpired. "How long have I been out here?" Another question spoken aloud as he turned his head about taking in every noise that was around him. "No matter, time to get moving I suppose." His first attempt to stand resulted in him falling to his knees. He was weak. Extremely weak, and his body was going through some serious recovery as it was adjusting to his usual and considerably more normal form. His alert sense of sound and smell then picked up a new scent. A familiar scent just then as he finally managed to stand straight. A small tug of a smile managed to turn up the right side of his lips as he waited for the approach of his rescue party. "My lord! You are alright! Are you alright?" The voice belonged to Lucas, Sebastien's trusted and most loyal servant. "I am fine. How is everything? Did I miss anything or start anything worth talking about?" Sebastien moved closer to the horse that Lucas had been sitting upon and touched the fair creature's neck. The horse snorted and shifted about nervously. No doubt the animal was reacting to Sebastien's new found smell. Animals, and even a few people seemed to treat him differently ever since he had found that he had joined the ranks of supernatural beings of the night. He had come this far with pretending to not notice the strange stares and occasional whispered rumor here or there. "Let me help you up. Thankfully no there is nothing to help start any more of those rumors or anything to help add on to them. Although, you returning at this hour of the morning in what little attire you have left, could raise a few brows." Lucas had placed a firm hand on Sebastien's shoulder snapping him from his thoughts and had answered his prior questions. With another slight smile that soon faded, he accepted the offer and grasped Lucas' palm. He had managed to make it up onto the horse saddle with ease, as this was a usual routine for the two of them. Letting a small chuckle escape himself, Sebastien shook his now disheveled black hair and responded, "Ah well, let them talk then. Gives them a little excitement. Am I right?" "That you are." Lucas returned and spurned the horse onwards back home. He always managed to find Sebastien the next morning and had come to his aide after waking from what he wished was a constant night terror. Lucas was the only one that knew of Sebastien's condition, and he wished to keep it as such. The ride was a quick and easy one, the two remained quiet as Sebastien was never found to be talkative after his return back to the normal world. Back at his large manor, Sebastien waited as Lucas passed the horse off to one of the stable hands and escorted him indoors. Sensing that they were alone finally, he had had a nagging feeling that was creating a burning question that needed to be asked. "Were there any disappearances last night?" His tone was even, but hushed as he spoke to his oldest friend as they walked down one of the many great halls. A slight rustling indicated that Lucas had shaken his head before answering, "No. Put your mind at ease for the time being." Again the silence ensnared them as they walked, finally making it to Sebastien's private quarters. "You know that you may leave me now. I'll be fine Lucas." Sebastien moved away from the other male as they entered his main chamber. Here Sebastien knew exactly where everything was and was quite comfortable on his own. Hearing the door shut behind him, he knew that Lucas understood that he just wanted a little time to recuperate before having to face the rest of the world. Sometimes he simply felt as if he were living a lie. Life never felt this way for him before. Though that was before he had been attacked by that powerful and large wolf. He could remember the stench of it's breath and the feel of it's fur on his skin as it had pinned him on his back. It was amazing how a creature such as that had amazingly soft fur despite the rage and hurt that it had felt inside. If there was one thing that Sebastien had always been good at despite his lack of eyesight, was that he was able to see people for who they truly were on the inside. Again, he needed to stop delving back into the past with these dark memories and thoughts. It only brought an onslaught of horrible feelings that he never wished to feel again; pain, shame, anger, grief. His parents had and could never know what truly happened to him, thus why he had requested to move into an estate by himself. He had hoped to preserve their fond memory of he, and wanted no bodily harm to come their way. Now that he was the age of twenty four years, they were constantly sending messengers to him of potentially strong matches that would suit him. They tried very hard to set him up with a lover whom he could one day wed. Sure he was a handsome individual with strong features and build. The only problem was that with his lack of sight, women did their best to avoid being caught in his company. With the strong bloodlines of their rich upbringing, families were to produce strong children to continue on the line. Being blind simply made you viewed as weak in the eyes of society, and Sebastien was destined to a life of lonely solitude. He started for his private bath. A bath was indeed something that he was in desperate need of at the moment. With ease he found himself turning the small knobs to adjust the temperature and waited as the large claw footed tub filled with water. He let his hand draw figure eights in the collecting fluid, inhaling the warm steam and letting it warm himself entirely. |
Layola made a grown as she slept in her ned. She sounded like a child who had been corrected by its mother and did not want to hear any part of it. She was in the servants quarters she was fast a sleep in the room which she shared with 2 other maids. They loved to gossip of the master who had the beautiful blues and the longish black hair. They often spoke of what a shame that their master could not see he would never wed being blind what woman would want to care for a blind man. They wanted to see children run about the house but felt that that would never happen with a blind master. Layola felt different she felt that he should not be limited just because he is blind she felt that he could do wonders still.
Layola even so she feared him a bit something about him was so inhuman. He looked at if he had powers like ones out of a fairytale f a horror story that mother's tell there children to get them to behave proper. She yawned as she got up the head maid had asked her of all people to bring the master some tea herbal tea something she had to do quite often. She got up and got dressed she yawned deeply and went about her duties at early morning. " God just once I would love to have a decent night's rest...that will be the day..." She stated as she grabbed the tea on the golden platter that was handed to her as she made her way up the stairs. She reached the door's to the grand master bedroom. She lightly knocked on the door as she waited for her master to answer the sooner he answered the sooner she got back to her rest. |
The knock on his main door stirred him from his calm state while soaking. "Ah, that would be my tea I'm guessing." He was sure that Lucas had asked on of the other maids to fetch it for their master as Lucas always did. Again with the usual mundane ritual, though he was completely wrong for thinking it mundane. Things grew complicated and even a bit messy on occasion due to the few discovered servants on the grounds from time to time. Well, at least what was left of them for that matter. He reached for a towel as he began to stand and exit the tub. Drying himself quickly he went and felt for his favorite thick robe and wrapped it around him. "I guess I hadn't realized how long I had been in there." He muttered softly as he tightened and secured the knot of the sash. Patting his hands down his being he made sure that the heavy folds were in place before he stepped out from the bath and walked to the door.
Opening it partially he was slightly embarrassed that he had not fully dressed and lost track of time. A faint flush made itself apparent on his fair skinned face as he peered out with unseeing eyes of a startling glacier blue. "Yes?" He asked calmly, trying to quell his slightly flustered emotions. He was not quite ready to be out and among the others just yet, especially when he hadn't even dressed properly just yet. That was when he noted the scent on the air, it was that of a female. Soft and fresh, hinting of day lilies after a light rain he knew who had come to present his tea. "Hello Layola. I hope that your morning routine isn't being interrupted by me. Usually Lenne brings me tea at this hour." He almost felt apologetic, though he felt wrong for feeling such emotion as he was the head of this household after all. |
" No problem my lord it's my job" She stated as she smirked to her self * nice rob* She stated to herself in her head. She began to poor his tea and mixed the way he liked well as they had instructed her to do. " Here you are my lord...." She stated as she gently placed it in his warm strong hands. she blushed a bit she had never seen a man in so little clothing...knowing that he was knocked under his robe made her want to exist the room in shame. She noticed his room this was the first time she was in it....it was large and beautiful like a dream or out of a fairy tale book. "so would you care for anything else my lord?" she asked as she smiled at him. she as a beautiful kind girl anyone could tell by looking at her or inside of her she was beautiful inside and out
