X Marks the Sin
In a universe outside our own, a magical planet that lives in a time of chaos and darkness. A full-blown war is said to be in the ever-nearing future. The people of the planet fear it, but they are embracing the much-desired change that would surely spill out the veins of hatred and war. |
All people of this planet are gifted with elemental powers*. Those that don't appear to have powers have the power of "Normal." It's with these powers that the people of Aelcliff are able to live with primitive supplies. Granted, they still have cars, flying vehicles, and may other great scientific wonders, but for the most part people don't use this stuff. The people live together to provide for one another. A metal elementalist wields weapons for the soldier. A lightning elementalist powers the energy grid that lights up with the streets in the night. A radiation elementalist helps find curses for diseases and ailments. The elementalists tend to live in harmony that was until the la'Sinne laid siege on the planet. |

[IMGRIGHT]http://i51.tinypic.com/r0tp9i.jpg[/IMGRIGHT][IMGRIGHT]http://i54.tinypic.com/2vl5czk.jpg[/IMGRIGHT]The thundering sound of hooves faded with each passing moment. A pair of eyes peaked up from under a leafy canopy and scouted the area. Should a horse not be within ear shot, the stalker would make his move.
Barely rustling the leaves, his feet slid silently across the pavement. Making it to the underground piping system would be his best bet, especially if he wanted to see the light of another day. Doing a somersault, the male just missed the watchful eyes of the al'Sinne guardians. Not catching his breath to let loose an exhale, Berk S. Voltava dove headfirst into what he presumed to be a safe spot. To his dismay, his forehead collided with that of another. Head spinning and the vision of stars still rattling about, Berk did his best not to speak too foreign. "W-wso sareuk yaau?" Spitting a pile of grass, dirt, and what seemed like bug dung from his mouth, the male patted feverishly at his now soiled white and violet attire. "Sorry. Let me try this again. Who are you?" His eyes narrowed into small slits as he looked menacingly at the person before him. "Better yet, what side do you live for?" Depending on the answer, Berk would have no choice but to suffocate the person for using a bow at this range would prove pointless. Moreover, the scent of blood would reach the noses of any hound faster than that of a struggle. Before the person could spit anything out, Berk's fingers were cupped around the woman's mouth. His eyes screamed to keep silent or they would both fall victim to the blades of the enemy. As the guards scattered, Berk rose to his feet to peer about and make sure the coast was really clear. When his initial observations mimicked that latter set, he offered a hand to the woman he so rudely harassed. Knowing that what he did was borderline harassment (or at least that's how he would justify it), Berk swept into a bowing motion. "Forgive me. My actions were not misguided. I just wanted to ensure our safety. Now, if you could, please provide me with your name." Hands landing at his hips, Berk's cold eyes frantically watched the woman's every move. |
[IMGright]http://i876.photobucket.com/albums/ab327/miss_SMG/RolePlay%20Characters/Misc%20Roleplay%20Stuff/AmakiSideBanner.jpg[/IMGright]It was early in the day yet; Amaki's lease favorite time in the 24-hour period that dictated the lives of many. She had been on a mission to figure out who it was that had sent the people that killed her mother, seeing as that was the only death reported to the authorities, it was clear that the attack was intentional, and just for her family. Her had slid over her backside to feel the pouch that rested on her left hip before re-adjusting the goggles that covered her usually purplish-blue and golden eyes.
Two blades hung off the backs of her shoulders, creating shadows across her scantily clad body. Running her tongue along her teeth, she slowly reached back; brushing her hair out of the way absentmindedly as she slid the blades from their sheaths very slowly as for them to not make a sound. The blue haired girl had dealt with al'Sinne guards before and knew that, at least with the new recruits, once you manage to get one alone they are willing to tell you all that they know. The girl was in a notoriously quiet part of town, the only thing there being an entrance to the underground piping system; the same system that got her to this place. The girl released a slow breath as she took one step, then another, towards the edge of one of the last buildings on the outskirts of the town. She could hear voices chattering without a care in the world and knew from the weight behind the footfalls that these were guards, and no undoubtedly they had to be recruits given the time and location. A slight breeze picked up, pulling the HERO's hair from her back and cooling the dripping sweat that had gathered there. That was another reason the girl didn't like the day time. Not only was it bright and the sun was out, going against her element, but she could not stand the intense heat, then again she couldn't really stand the intense cold either. Her hands re gripped the hilt of the blades as she heard the footsteps getting louder. With her eyes closed, she concentrated on her plan for attack. The footsteps hit the ground in a pattern, tap, tap, tap, tap, every few seconds and the rhythm was helping the girl determine how far away they were. Their voices were getting louder and then, all of a sudden them and their footstep were getting quieter. Letting her breath out in a low hiss the girl straightened herself up again, and just as she was opening her eyes a sharp pain connected with her forehead. The jolt sent the girl falling backwards, the bright sunlight hitting her eyes without remorse, her blades falling as though they were carelessly discarded. A disoriented, an odd sounding, "W-wso sareuk yaau", rang through the girl's ears as she went to sit up quickly. Amaki quickly looked around for her blades, though to her dismay they were behind her. It was the tone of the question that caught the girl's attention as she lunged for one of the two prized items. Her head spun back around to be met with his narrowed gaze and questions of whom she was and what side she was on being demanded. Though the male would not be able to see it, Amaki's eyes narrowed and the design around her left eye started appearing, slowly spreading out beyond her goggles. Though having them on meant that the male was in no harm, the appearance of the markings meant that he was not safe from attack at this point. It didn't matter that she did not like using her abilities, this guy was not on friendly terms at the moment and therefore would be treated as a threat. Just as her lips parted for her to speak, the male was in her personal space, his cold fingers clamping themselves over her mouth. At this point, the blue haired girl inhaled deeply as her eyes narrowed further, her hand clenched around the handle of one of her blades. That was when the patterned tap, tap, tap, rang through her ears again. The guards had just changed their patrol a little bit or something and were getting back on route towards them. Luckily, if that was how one wanted to look at it, when the man ran into her, it knocked her back just around the corner of the building and closer to the underground entrance. After the footfalls and voices began fading once again, the man got off of her, the filth that now covered his garments tracing across her thighs as he moved. He went to see if all was clear before returning to where Amaki still sat. When he returned the girl just watched him, her markings slowly appearing on her shoulder and down her arm. His composure was much different this time around than it had been before, but the way he was looking at her still did not set her at ease. Rather than answering, the long haired girl turned around slightly to pick up her other blade. Once in hand she rose to her feet, her back to him for a moment as she slid the weapons skillfully back into their resting place. Turning back towards him she adjusted her goggles to ensure their security on her face before running her tongue over her drying lips. "You are certainly demanding for a man who just managed to ruin three weeks worth of preparation and sacrifice." Amaki's lips remained parted slightly as she glared at the man from behind the dark shades that covered her eyes. This plan, those as simple as it seemed had gotten some people she knew killed. Coming across the patrol routes, times, and crossovers was not easy when you were trying to be undetected, though some of the people that were working with her were a little careless and no longer served a purpose in life. Rather than mimicking his movements, the girl shifted her weight to one side as she crossed her arms under her chest; he was definitely going to have to start talking if he didn't want the bold markings to start playing their role. |
Her voice was sounded like pins and needles. It was more than evident that she was furious with his lackluster performance. He considered telling her that she, too, had ruined his plans, but decided against it.
Eyes returning to their typical stern, yet soft look, Berk cowered down some. Hand moving behind his head, a little sheepish sigh came next. "The name's Berk. And, from the sound of it, you're a survivor." His eyes traced her silhouette several times. Each time he did it, a vision began to get clearer. "You're... Amaki?" Looking over his shoulder, he saw the ghosts behind him nod. "Wait. Wait, wait, wait!" Backing up some, he shook his head. "Stop following me! I told you, I'm not who you think I am!" Whirling around, Berk grabbed his weapon and pointed an arrow at what would appear to be absolutely nothing. "Ha! Not so tough n... hey! Let go! Give me my arrow ba.... ahhhhh!" Arms flailing, Berk scooted around behind Amaki. Peering up from her feet, he watched as the ghosts faded. A sigh followed. Lifting his head, Berk felt the space between his location get narrower and narrower. Looking up, Berk's eyes widened as a pool of sweat formed at his forehead. If there were ever a man to get himself into the most awkward of places, it would be Berk. Nose just inches below Amaki's crouch, ears pinned to her inner thigh, and eyes looking directly up her attire, Berk's face couldn't help but flush. With a quick (unexpected) tuck of the chin, he was able to make his move. Shoulders plunging into the back-side of her knees, Berk was knocked Amaki off her feet and into her chest. As her midriff collided with his scurrying body, the dark haired male could feel his masculine desire for something more sexual kick in. For Berk, it had been a while since he last addressed his "needs." Eyes rolling to the back of his head, body twisting, and sexual fantasies running a muck in his head, he found himself fighting the scene too much. Rather than trying to wigging his way from this, he decided to close his eyes and take in a deep breath. Opening one eye slowly, Berk prepared himself to take in the final scene. Sure enough, the roles were reserved. Rather than looking at her undies, Berk found the woman's chin resting on his belt buckle, her hands just missing his "vital" organs. Her legs were sprawled across his and the swords she once had were crossed somewhat neatly beside his head. Her mess of blue hair was veiling his chest. Attempting to quiet his racing heart (and to hint at any other desire to hook up with the woman), Berk cleared his throat. "Heh, I... I'll... I'll let you get u... us outta this m-m-mess." Wincing, he feared for the worst. She would either nail in or kill him. Either option seemed to suck. Although, in the back of his mind, he preferred the idea of death, as it wouldn't straight up mean she "rejected" him. |
"You had better have a good reason for this Berk," Amaki said, her words dripping with venom as she pulled herself off the male, yanking her blades from their resting place, being sure to drag them close enough to his face to let him know that she could have seriously hurt him just then. She didn't though, and for one main reason. It wasn't for the fact that he was crazy, but he clearly had information, information about her. She could not let that get out.
Her right arm extended, the blade drawn at his throat while her left relaxed at her side as she stood between his legs. Her lips thinned themselves into a tight, fine line as the top corner lifted into a scowl. The pattern of the markings began spreading over the left side of her collar bone and then down her chest and stomach, disappearing beyond the reaches of her skirt. "You better start talking and fast, before I change my mind in giving you a chance to redeem yourself," she then told the male, her voice dipping low as her Icemont accent started to bleed through. Her hair was still messed up from the fall, in such a state she knew she was going to have issues with. "Where ever you are from that may have been a welcome action, but not here. Not with me. Do I make myself clear?" Ever since the death of her parents, Amaki was never the social butterfly that they were hoping she would be. She was rarely found around others and if she was, it was during a pivotal point in time where they were necessary. Other than that, she kept no one close to her; if she did then she could see them being taken away just like her childhood. Beads of sweat began forming along the girl's forehead, down her spine and between her breasts. Taking a slow breath she drew her feet closer together, one tiered behind the other. She would much rather finish off this conversation now and get out of the sun, seeing as her patrol attack was now out of the question. |
The Day was unfortunately young. The heat terrible. It was time for the Al Sinne to pay for what they had done to her brother. Daeman hadnt become a HERO for nothing. The girl's appearance was that of a normal punk looking waitress. Her braided hair ran down her back like a large snake. It was no secret that she could use it as a weapon if she needed to. The metals in the ground began to move as the girl got closer to the fortress in front of her.
The girl could see guards moving across their patrol lines. Out of the corner of her eye she could see something dodge into the shadows. Unfortunately from her position, she wasnt able to see who or what it was and apparently neither did the guards. She stayed in her hiding spot in the bushes for now. She wanted to see who or what was hiding where the shadows had moved. Another set of guards moved her way. The girl dodged into another set of bushes then up a tree from the other side. The guards seemed to have noticed that the bushes had moved so they decided to go check it out. There were only two of them. Easily taken down if they were recruits. Hopefully they would be. Steady now... wait for them to come to you. She told herself. The guards started to get closer to the tree. She stood on the branch overlooking the two of them. The men slowly checked the bushes then came around towards the tree. As they made their way around it, she climbed down the other side. Her hand started to shake a little as a silvery thin looking blade started to come out of it. She took the metal handle that formed and stuck one of the soldiers in the vocal cords and snuck up on the other one, covering his mouth and putting the blade to his throat. "I dont want to kill you since you do look new but im not beyond it. The other man on the other hand was a little older so its fine." She pushed him against the tree, keeping his mouth covered and the blade at his throat. The two in the shadows could probably see what was going on but it seemed that the other guards were totally oblivious due to their location. "Now im going to ask you a few questions. If you scream, i slice. If you dont answer truthfully, i slice... Im not a very nice person when your on the other side." A smirk crossed her lips as finished speaking. |
Gulping like the coward he was, Berk sank further into the earth. Looking even more defenseless than usual, he slammed his eyes shut. He would rather not see himself lashed or attacked. After all, who really likes to see themselves die?
"Okay, okay, okay! Don't kill me! Please! I did nothing wrong! It's their fault," he said pointing to the air behind Amaki. "Your parents just showed up in my house one day and said that I had to find you and make sure they got a message to you. However, since that day, they've fallen mute. They never relayed the message to me, so now I have to guess what they want me to say to you. Rather than guessing, I'll just leave it up to you. Because, knowing my luck, I'd insult you or totally spit out something completely and utterly wrong. I mean, knowing me, I'd end up kissing you or something. Hell, you are hot and all. Heh, guess I should have listened to your parents. They were right. Warned me right off the bat. They said, 'Our baby girl is a true soldier. Solid like a snake, tough like nails, but as beautiful as gold.' They were right. You're scary, rough, and gorgeous. I mean, no offense or anything. Scary isn't always a bad thing. I mean, I can be good. Well, not really.... uhhh, but at least you have your beauty to counter the scary. And rough, well, some men, such as myself, prefer rough. But I'm sure you don't care. Hell, who am I to you but some spineless coward who doesn't know when to shut up. Right?" His lips finally ceased their movement. Silence, the silence that was once missed, flooded back onto the earth. Everything seemed to breath as there was potential that he would (dare I say it) open his mouth to speak, again. For being a quiet man, he sure knew how to ramble, but, you could say it came with the territory. He was always neck high in danger so to successfully get himself out of trouble, he needed to be a "smooth" talker. Key word being talker. ---------- The guard was annoyed by this woman. She was totally blowing his cover. Hell, if she just let him go, it would make the other guards question his survival. Granted he walked back empty handed. Meaning, he would need her head to prove his survival and loyalty. "Listen," he tried to cough out, "I'm not who you think I am. I'm not a la'Sinne." As he tempted to release himself, Kaine could feel his wig slipping. The raw, brilliant red hair that was once veiled by a dark brown wig was now peaking out the corners. His eyes looked up at the tiff of hair that poked down into his eyes. Giving Daeman a "see, I told you so" look, he waited for the woman to release him. When her blade stayed erect, he frowned. "Listen, princess, I'm not a la'Sinne. All la'Sinnes have dark hair. Red is not dark, or at least it wasn't last time I checked it out. So yeah, do me a favor and stop pressing the blade of yours against my throat. Okay?" Sarcasm and rudeness. It was a surefire way to win over a woman's heart. Not. But Kaine really didn't seem to give a hoot one way or the other. That was just Kaine. One hundred percent indifferent. |
The auburn haired male, was crouching low with in the tall grass, watching as the two talk out in the open, he thought it was so silly that they were not keeping their gaurd up. His cobolt blue eyes scanned over them as he crept forward like the animals he called family, he smiled even more, showing his natrual fangs. He then stood up from his place in the grass, well more like showed his head, making a noise like a small animal before ducking down once more, trying to get a better look at them.
He looked around once more, seeing some shadows, sniffing the air, he was pretty sure that there were a couple of people in it but he couldn't tell at the moment because the smell of others was just very over powering. The one thing he did like bout having the beast/creature power was that hecould take on thier qualities, in hance his human senses. His eyes always went to the girl that looked sort of like a waitress and the fake gaurd, he may not have a side but his own but that didn't mean he couldn't help someone out when they needed it, and if it benefitted him the most. |
Amaki closed her eyes for the moment, tilted her head back into the sun light and with a slight laugh she licked her lips. Though she had heard of some having the ability to speak to spirits, it was not a talent she would believe others to have lightly; especially if they were making claims as to having seen her parents. She took a step closer to the boy, her right foot just below the crown jewels, her left foot beside his waist. Kneeling down in front of the male, she drew her lips closer to his, her goggled covered eyes watching his face as she moved.
"No one makes such claims without backing them up. You're coming with me, whether you want to or not." Rather than taking her closeness further, she grabbed the male by the front of his shirt and drug him to his feet. There was a noise though, it seemed out of place in the part of town they were at. Brows furrowing together slightly she released the male issuing one stark command, "Come on." She then began to edge back towards where she had been waiting. Something wasn't right; she did not dare to put her blades back, just to be on the safe side. |
Daeman was pretty sure that she had been right the whole time but then she remembered the man was right. Most Al'Sinne had Dark hair, not red hair. The girl was still a little weary about trusting him that he wasn't al'Sinne but it seemed that with his sarcasm and rudeness he was telling the truth.
Annoyed at the man, she backed up a little bit. "You better not be lying." She looked pissed off at him. "You look and walk like one of them. Who are you?" her blade got closer again. The sweat from her brow seemed to be increasing for some reason though she didnt really have any reason to be sweating. Maybe it was all this sun. There were soldiers that had seen her and seemed to be watching to see what the man did. The girl put her voice low as she watched them wait to see what the man she was holding would do. If she just let him go, he would look weak. If killed him, he would look weak. That would be bad for his cover, if he was really undercover. Of course the soldiers were pretty far away since they had been doing their rounds just like everyone else. How could she had blown her hiding spot like this. |
Rossen James Thronburg stayed crouched where he was. He knew he was supposed to rendezvous with Amaki and a few of the other HERO's, but how long could it take? He stayed crouched where he was watching as guards passed by his hiding spot. The boy ran a hand threw his hair with a growl. He was not being very patient. Ross looked around as he wondered where she had gotten off to. Dressed in a dark gray hoodie with a tan colored t-shirt underneath, slim boot-cut jeans, and black vans. He had gloves on his hands with his brass knuckles.
Groaning the boy moved from his position and made his way to where Amaki was to be waiting. The boy moved silently and swiftly among the guards keeping himself from being caught. The brunette with the slightly auburn haired was rather good at sneaking around by now. He could thank his path for that, but he never would. The man hated everything about his past and all that went along with it. After making it back to where Amaki was he peered around she was not there. His honey eyes looked up as he caught sight of the woman with another member of HERO. Approaching them he kept himself low to stay out of view. "Did something go wrong?" he questioned softly as he looked over at her. Then he looked over at the other member, Berk. He wondered if the other male had something to do with it. He remained low and peeked over to see what was going on the other side. His honey eyes looked back to Amaki again. ---- Phoebe Saria Englis quietly watched from where she had been hiding as one of the other members of the Rebeliance got caught. She had been planning for him to sneak in and act as a guard. This would certainly have given them a good idea of what was going on in the enemies base. The young woman scowled as she watched from her position. Slipping out of hiding she was dressed as a simple secretary trying to look as though she belonged around there. Her dark hair was pulled back into a neat bun rather than her traditional messy ponytail. A pair of low black kitten heels, black tights, a black pencil skirt, pink dress shirt, and gray cardigan. One her nose was a pair of dark framed glasses. The blue-green eyed woman approached from the side as she saw her friend caught with a blade at his throat. As she approached the girl {Dae} she softly tapped her shoulder and cleared her throat. "Excuse me, miss, but he is supposed to come with me. If you would remove your weapon I will take him and be on my way," she said sweetly. Pho was at times a very good actress. If things needed to she would of course get violent, but she would prefer not. Especially not dressed as a secretary. That would certainly ruin any sort of cover she had previously. She hoped this silly woman would simply oblige, but life was never that simple. |
A weak grin appeared on Kaine's face when his partner arrived. Thank the lord, he thought to himself. Eyes closing, he nodded his head in thanks to a greater being.
With the blade removed from his neck, Kaine looked pitifully at Pho. It was going to a good lashing. Something was hated. But he would much rather put up with her nagging than go break a sweat of some sort. "Just keep your mouth shut, okay? I'd hate to turn the tides on you and use a blade on that pretty little neck of yours." Hands falling onto his hips, Kaine saluted the HERO goodbye. When the two were out of range of the woman, he spoke. "Pho, do you think she'll tell the others about our movements? Should she mention a red-haired male, I think my good friend Berk will peg me as the male. It's the last thing I want... dragging him into this. I promised Acelin, his sister, that I would do all I could not to cross paths with the HEROs." Being the boss' right hand man, Kaine knew he could get some leverage. Yes, the Gleasse was at war with all sides, but the more they could avoid battle with the HEROs, the better. Checking Pho out, Kaine smirked. "Those pesky HEROs. When will they learn that the Rebeliance will solve all their little issues." His red hair flopped into his face when the wind started to pick up. "I mean, we'll do all the work. But hell, if they want to weaken the la'Sinne, the better. Tch, the less I have to do, the happier I'll be." His tone was unusually perky today. Kaine was usually a very dry talker. His monotone like voice was combated with the occasional pitch fluctuations and the even rarer level changes. Head turning into the wind, Kaine's eyes shifted toward the woman before him. "What are the new plans, my lord." A small smile appeared on his slender face as he spoke to her. She was one of three people he actually liked (the other two were the Voltava siblings). ---------- "Wha? Oh, okay." Before he could even grasp what was happening, another person had appeared. "Is he your boyfriend or something," he said with a saddened tone. Circling around behind the male, Berk poked his tongue out. Making a mocking face, he crossed his arms and stomped back over next to Amaki. Even though he was still pouting, Berk did his best not to let envy guide him. After all, the last thing he needed was for the male before him to think he was... jealous. "Berk," he said sticking out a hand. For being a bloody coward, Berk sure could put on a good show. He appeared calm, collect, and even a bit haughty. Too bad his body seemed to lack the physical traits of a strong male. Either way, Berk's brows closed together some as he stared intently at the newcomer. "Well?" His lip curled up to release a weak snarl. |
"No," Amaki stated simply as Ross joined her slowly growing group. She wasn't how sure she had managed it, seeing as she liked to be alone, but more and more HEROs seemed to either just find her, or they were searching her out and just never left.
"And he's hardly my boyfriend," she then replied disinterested as she leaned against the stone wall to peer around the corner. The guards had yet to return which was a good thing. "I don't indulge myself in such frivolous activities. Such things only become a weakness to be used against you." The girl was watching the growing number of guards though; something was catching their attention and she wasn't getting a good feeling from in. Moving back to the safety of the shade, goggled eyes feel onto the brunette male. "Daeman was supposed to be covering me in case something went wrong on my end; have you heard from her?" |
Kazuma growled in a low voice as he backed away from the now group, slinking through the grass like a cat would, his hair was wild at the moment since he hasn't brushed or combed it in a while. He shot down in between a couple of buildings only to come face to face with three people he had not known was down it, he crouched low in his spot, growling at them as he slowly started to back up, not trusting them at all. "People...." he said in a voice that didn't quite sound human, he did stop at the edge though, not going further for the other humans were still in the area where he wanted to go.
He had no clue what he was going to do now, but his mind raced with thoughts on how to get away and to be safe, all he wanted to really to do was avoid these creatures even though he can be considered one of them, he still would not call them family or acknowledge the fact he was one of them. His cobalt blue eyes locked on the three that was near him while his mouth was in the permanent smile, the only thing he ever did when around others was smile. He was feeling anxetious about the situation, it was either go out and be caught by the la'Sinne, or stay here and face these three people, that he could more then likely exscape from or possibly taken down if he needed to. He still smiled even though a low growling sound could be heard from him, he was not likeing this at all, he only came this way becasue it was saffer and he didn't see or hear people down it, butit was clear that he was wrong. |
Daeman looked at the male as another person came up. She had already been lowering her weapon and now this woman came to vouch for him. She was suppose to be covering for Amaki. Now she had lost what she was suppose to be doing. Quickly after the two left, she jumped into another set of bushes and moved until she was behind some crates.
It was hard to get a hold of the woman when she didnt actually have a way of communicating. Now she was suppose to try and find her as a bunch of soldiers seemed to gather where she was. They looked like they were about to go looking for her but it seemed that she had left just in time. A Sargent came over and told them all to get back to work, that nothing was going on. She sighed in relief. Quickly, she moved through the metal boxes and things round them until she knew she had reached Amaki.
