I have. The gel toothpastes don't seem to work as well (if at all) as the white, sort of gritty ones.
Neither work quite as well as a sulfur mask/treatment stuff. At least not for me.
But when in a bind I'd recommend trying it.

If you have spots that are red but the skin isn't broken you can dab some eye drops that are meant to get rid of red eyes on the spot using a q-tip. I don't believe doing it regularly is good for your skin though. You'd have to look that up.

And alcohol. When I've run out of toner I'll use a bit of my mouthwash (which has alcohol in it) before moisturizing. I apply it with my fingers. It minimizes pores. This isn't good for long term use since it'll dry out your skin - which is why when I do use it I moisturize throughly afterwards and only when have no other alternative/need it for whatever reason. I'm usually not as careful with moisturizing otherwise; sometimes I don't if I'm going to bed right away, but that's only if I'm not using alcohol. I've heard vinegar works as well without drying you out much, if at all. I haven't tried it though. You can probably cut the smell with a few drops of lemon.

Good luck with your big day. (:

Haven't tried that yet so I dunno if it works.

@ Cookie: I am SOOOOOOOOOO going to have to try all that stuff now! And thank you! ;D

@ B A B Y: That's okay! C:

I've used it. It works if you're really desperate... but what works for me better is a cream of ten percent benzoyl peroxide, not even brand name, just look at the active ingredients. You can get a fairly substantial tube for about ten bucks at a pharmacy and works faster and better than toothpaste as a spot treatment. If you catch 'em early, they probably won't even completely show up. Just don't use it unless you need it, your skin could start to peel. Also, if it doesn't work after an application or two, stop it there, it's probably not going to if it doesn't right away.

Anyway, that's my two cents. Good luck!

plip : So did you do a survey if it really did work?
Or perhaps you've tried it already? :0

@ Coccyx: Yeah I did not think I should use it like EVERy time. I would think it would start to just irritate my skin at that point, plus doding it so often might irritate and clog up my pores even more and that would be freaking nasty to have to toothpaste do that! XC

@ B A B Y: I tried it last night. I really tingled. It kind of burned a bit but that was jsut because my skin is kind of sensitive around the eyes and I accidently smeared it there. All in all I must say my face smelled REALLY minty. It kind of made my eyes water, just a bit but I think that is because I added to much or to close to my eyes. I put it on right before bed and when I woke up and whiped off my face I actually noticed it looked a little better. But I am not going to use this treatment often in case it clogs u my pores and fucks up my face. My face might smell great, but if it screws my face then I will be pissed and becasue I really do not want that happening I will not even take that chance. :P

This is a tad late, but I thought I'd put in my two cents because I've actually done this a lot when I was in a bind...or just because it tends to work better for me than the stupid 1% salicylic acid products.

My recommendation for this treatment is to use whitening toothpaste with the little gritty bits in it. I don't know what it is, but that stuff is stronger and works better. Also, whenever I do this, I use band-aides as well. Put a dab of toothpaste on the band-aide, then apply it to the pimple and leave it overnight. And poof! If your pimple was starting to come to a head when you put it on, I can almost guarantee that it will have drained and the swelling will have gone down a little bit. No effect on redness, however.

It's a good way to speed up the healing process of pimples. I don't recommend doing this ALL the time, but it's a lifesaver at points. I've also never had this clog my pores *shrugs*, just saying.

Funny thing is..Ive actually used this method : )
It seems to work for me xD
I've also tried to use the 'windex' method..didn't really get results from that lol.

plip_gurl 03-21-2011 09:56 PM

@ Elysium: Ahh okay! did not know what type worked better and I was afraid I used the wrong one. I will keep what you siad in mind! And if it did not clog your pores then I might retry with whitening toohpaste a little sooner! :D

@ Beautiful: It worked for me as well. :] What is this 'Windex' method you are talking about? I have never heard of it. DO you mean the Windex for glass cleaning or some other kind?

ElysiumFate 03-21-2011 10:05 PM

It definitely didn't. :) And I have sensitive skin. Trust me. Just make sure you wash the toothpaste off after you take the band aide off in the morning. I mean...you wouldn't leave a glob of benzoyl peroxide on your skin either, would you? Lol.
