Corday {Annalesia and Hatsu}
Revan and Amara have been a part of Corday for a while now. They are at the top of their class in everything from the most basic assassinations to the most complex. After a traumatic death of a previous partner, Revan is forced to partner with Amara and re-learn how to function as a unit rather than alone and Amara must learn to cope with this rather emotionally high strung man. Her only choice is to Figure it out or leave to find another place to hide from her problems. **THIS IS A THREAD YOU CAN READ, BUT DO NOT POST. http://i334.photobucket.com/albums/m...baby-panda.jpg What you need to know for this thread: Aan engelon is it's a hybrid creature that looks like a mix of human and bird. Their technically a branch of elves but their one of the first breeds. They are naturally genderless but as they get older they can change their gender at will, which is very helpful when the population plummets to some hundred or so around the world. Their wings are efflorescent and every feather looks a lot like a pearl inlay kinda shiny. The have pale to Grey skin tone and very angular faces. Their wings, like Revan, or the other way around, conduct magic but they specialize in offense and know little about defense and healing. The engelon are powerful fighters, boasting a strong immunity to poisons and physical harm. They also feed from other magics and emotions, their favorite being desire because of how sweet and sharp it is to them. One of the most dangerous powers they have is the ability to seduce anyone, changing their bodies to reflect what that person most desires and they basically hypnotize with their eyes which look similar to a cat's eye, to create the desired emotions to feed off of. Revan has some immunity to this engelon's charm because Engelon's can't seduce their own species but everyone else is fair game. Engelon's can also morph to look just like the person someone is already lusting over or in love with, and it used to be common for Engelon's to fool married men and women into sleeping with them simply because the person can't tell the difference once they're captivated by it's eyes. |
Name - Revan
Age - 24 Gender - Male Race - Human elf hybrid (he was genetically manipulated) Appearance - 5ft 10in with black hair and long pointed ears, ~think Link from LOZ~ massive raven wings and mismatched blue eyes. His hair is short and his bangs rest right below his eyes and he has three piercings up both ears. He's well built from all his training but not overly so. Powers - He has the ability of foresight but it is unpredictable and often times only predicts traumatic events. Revan also has the ability to channel magic through his wings to use for attacking and defending. He has superhuman strength and speed. Skills - He is very good with the Katana and short sword. He has in depth medical skills and he is a rather impressive singer. Bio - Quiet and Kind, he was brought to the academy when he was 17 after he was found aimlessly wandering across the grounds. What little they could gather of his past eludes to extreme human experiments to create a superhuman soldier to go in and assassinate another assassin group. He's grown up with the Academy men and women and has grown rather fond of them over time, especially to his trainer Kyoshi who took him under wing after Revan was accepted into the academy. Six months after joining, the final effects of the genetic experiments finished and Revan was blessed and cursed with raven black wings. Revan is currently a multi-trade assassin but he specializes in the art of healing. Because of the abnormal Extremities, his wings, he's invaluable to rescue missions and the magic which his wings naturally store in large quantities is very useful for a quick wins or escapes. He struggles sometimes with accepting his role as a Hermes for the Academy and the weight of his prophecies that haunt him. |
Name- Amara (Greek for eternal)
Gender-Female Race-Elite Powers-Along with the stereotypical powers of super-humans such as super strength and super speed, Amara has hyper sensitivity to molecular levels, to the point that I can smell the chemical reactions and various hormones in a person's body and can tell exactly when a person is about to move, when they're lying, when they're sick, and when they're aroused, etc. Some say it is like mind reading, but with a huge limitation... Skills-Amara is skilled with fighting, and finds joy in the pain of her enemies. From this she has become very skilled in interrogations, her molecular skills creating an aura of dominance over them. Her favorite weapons are blades of any kind. Appearance- Amara's hair is a ghostly white, her blond hair mixing with Jacob's blond hair making them both a strikingly light color. Her eyes hazel from mixing with Jacobs are accentuated by the plump lips and slender face. Her form is slender, but curvy. Bio-Back in the beginning of time, when humans had merely begun to create their civilizations, a war between the Gods erupted over Earth. The Gods created Elites; assassins sent out to kill Gods and massacre their armies. After each battle the Elites were send to mate with the humans as a reward. Thus, various creatures came from humans with special powers. The Elites that mated were always able to seduce a human, creating the succubus myth. The natural resources needed to create the Elites were taken away from the God's, and the Elites left were to fight to the death. In the final years of the war the Elites were narrowed down to two, from opposing Gods. There was Amara and Jacob left. On the battlefield a powerful bond between the two struck, and they could not fight. The Gods cast a curse upon them in anger; linking their bodies and souls (when one was injured or felt a feeling, the other would too). |
The gentle mist of rain was soothing to the soul as birds chirped softly outside. Revan's bedroom windows were opened all the way letting the fragrant spring breeze fill the open room. he was drifting because of how peaceful the sounds and smells were but he knew that wasn't true. The truth was that nothing here was as peaceful as it seemed. Revan knew that just twelve minutes ago another runner team had just returned and one of the seven died on the way back. He knew because he had predicted the gruesome death of his companion.
He rolled over so his back faced the window. It had been many years since he had joined Corday but he would never get used to knowing that people were going to die and often times there was nothing he could do about it. If only he had known sooner, he could have flown and stopped the ambush. "Revan?" Revan turned around to see Kyoshi Standing against the door frame. He sat up and rubbed his face exhaustedly. "Hey. How are the runners?" Kyoshi walked further into the room and sat beside Revan. "I know you knew, so please be honest with me." Revan looked over with his head on his hand. "I get it, and I realize that things like this happen. Just because I can see into the future doesn't mean I'm capable of saving everyone I see die or suffer in my dreams." Kyoshi smiled gently and pat Revan's back. "Well if it makes you feel any better I've got something to take your mind off of all this." Revan sat up and puffed a sigh. "Okay, I'll bite, what?" "You've got a new partner." |
Amara's eyelids fluttered, her silver eyelashes casting shadows over her light freckled cheeks. Sunlight poured in through the windowpane, kissing at her face, the heat licking at her light hair. Adonis, her young falcon, flapped it's wings. Clenching her eyes at the intrusion of wings brushing against her face, she frowned. Her hand came up, shielding her from the cranky bird as she looked out the window. The sun hung in the sky already, showing it to be around mid-morning. "Yes, yes, I understand you are hungry Adonis," she frowned sweeping her legs over the side of the bed and slipping her feet into silky slippers. Making her way to her desk, her slender fingers pulled the top off, and set it onto the oak beside the bowl. A whirring sound intruded her mind as Adonis eagerly flew onto the desk. She knew it might not be normal to allow the falcon to feed out of the bowl directly, but this way she could ensure none went to waste. Adonis would eat what he needed then patiently wait for her to close it again until he needed more. Sitting at the chair in front of the desk, she began to run her fingers slowly through her hair. "Amara?" "Yes, come in Cecilia," Amara continued to preen herself as she watched in the mirror, her pupils dilated slightly as she calculated her trainer's emotions and thoughts, "What is the news?" "You know, I would really prefer it if you would cease using your abilities on me. It is not very nice, and out of respect for a trainer I demand you quit," Cecilia made her way to Amara, picking up the rarely used brush to begin the long journey of tangling through the knots that always arise from Amara's night sleep. "You may ask, but you cannot ask one to deny their abilities. They are part of us. Now please get to the point, what is the news you wish you did not have to say?" "You have a new partner, Amara. He's a male, and I know that you have come across him, because he has been at the academy for years. I believe he is a pupil of Kyoshi's." Amara held back her emotions, simply reaching out to pet the feathers of her Adonis, "You know I prefer to work alone. Why have I been partnered?" |
"No." Revan stood and paced the room a few times before focusing in on Kyoshi.
"The last partner I had was murdered and tortured to LURE ME IN! She was tortured for days before I could get there and by the time I did she was dead!" Kyoshi waited patiently as Revan vented at him. The man had just reasoning for his disapproval and really, Kyoshi questioned the decision himself. He wondered if this new partner was really worth the possible breakdown of his pupil, and probably his closest companion. "Revan, it's required, you know this. The only reason you've been without a partner is because of the last incident but the rules stand firm, even for you." "That doesn't make any sense! I don't need a partner, I'm nearly indestructible, I travel too fast for even the best runners to keep up with me and I rarely ever need to rest. What's the point in a partner if I'm just going to get them killed!" Kyoshi watched as Revan tried to wade through his overwhelming emotions. He wanted to agree with him so badly but what he was told goes, no matter what. He stood and gently reached out to Revan, enfolding the frazzled man in his arms. "Revan, they understand this and they've picked the best possible partner for you that they could find. She's supposed to be very intelligent and fast. Her records show only the best and she's never failed a mission yet. Please, just meet her before you decide she will just be a burden." Revan shook a little in Kyoshi's arms and then he relaxed, allowing his arms to slip around the other man's chest. "I don't know how much longer this is going to take, I promised him that nothing would happen, I wouldn't let it but here I am, loosing my mind trying to block out what I know and see. How am I supposed to be someone's partner if I don't even trust myself to protect them." Kyoshi pet Revan's head and sighed. "I understand your pain but you'll just have to trudge through. You'll be meeting her in an hour." |
Cecilia sighed as she began to weave her fingers through the silver hair, pulling strands back strategically into a french braid she'd seen used in a mission during her younger years. Amara watched in slight wonder as her trainer pulled hair methodically into a braid that seemed to slither down her head, forming down her back. Cecilia grabbed one of Adonis' feathers from the vase on the desk, weaving it into the braid, "The Masters have decided there have been too many deaths. Assassins are not being stealthy enough. So they had a meeting and decided the assassins would no longer work alone, but instead with a partner. Following that was an incredibly long process of trainers writing reviews on their trainees, and turning them in. From there the Elders read them all, and decided who would work best with who. I guess they decided your abilities matched well with his. Who knows, it may have been partly on personality, which means you might like him..."
Amara tilted an eyebrow up as she looked up at Cecilia through the mirror, "You know I do not like men. They are only an irritant." "Well, you may not like him, but fact is you have to work with him, and you have to do your part in both leading and following him. Besides," Cecilia's mouth pursed into a scowl as she wished she did not have to deliver the next words, "You two meet in an hour." "An hour?!" Amara nearly screeched, her hands fisted in her lap. "Calm, child. There is nothing you nor I can do. It is what it is, and you will carry yourself with grace through it," Cecilia grabbed the ribbon of of the desk, her stealthy fingers tying it around the finished braid. Jacob scowled as he awoke to the annoying flutter of beats against his face again. About a year ago, it became quite common for him to awaken to such a sensation. Rubbing at his face, he yawned, the female in bed next to him making a muffled sound as she curled up against him. Frowning, her grabbed her arms and slid away from her. "You need to leave by noon, woman," he opened the door, stepping out naked into the field that surrounded his cottage in Sweden. Glancing back at the blond in his bed, he made his way to the lake, deciding to only return for food once she had disappeared back to her village. He knew she didn't care him leaving. Every woman he took to bed had not a single regret. Instead, the went back to their village and the rumors flew of the God in the mountains. |
Revan fumed as he rushed across his room to get ready, his face a perfect look of frustration.
"That face is rather unbecoming on you." Kyoshi smirked as Revan tossed a boot at him. "Don't say another word, the next thing that I throw may not be so dull." Kyoshi followed after Revan as he nearly stormed out of his room. "Why didn't you tell me about this from the beginning?" Kyoshi Shrugged. "It didn't seem so important. With the way your rushing you might do well to take a sedative." Revan huffed and turned on his instructor. "Why can't I have you as my partner?" Kyoshi had anticipated the question and he answered as straight forward as he could. "You know why, it can't be two men because a man can't woo or infiltrate as well as a woman, and women aren't respected enough in most societies for negotiations or interrogate." Revan's eyes narrowed. "Oh really, I know women who can haggle the price of anything down to almost nothing, who can interrogate and negotiate better than most men, and I also know that there are men who most definitely can woo and infiltrate just as well as any woman." Revan being only an inch shorter than Kyoshi was able to look the man in the eyes and use the full force of his glare. "I don't want a partner but if it's that necessary then fine, and I will handle it just fine so don't try and monitor me." Revan stormed off and into the dinning hall to grab a bite to eat before going to meet his new partner. |
Amara sighed heavily, her nightgown slipping off of her as she made her way to her boudoir, pulling out an outfit. As she pulled the white linen Grecian dress over her head, she eyed her weapons, "What does the man specialize in?"
She grabbed her blades, lifting her dress hem and strapping them against her thighs just in case. Walking past Cecilia, she noted the trainers face, plopping onto the bed and wrapping her gold sandals around her ankles and lower calves, "What is the look for, Cecilia?" "You do not need your weapons to meet your partner, Amara," Cecilia flinched ever-so-slightly as Adonis landed on her shoulder, pecking at her hair, preening her. "A true assassin is never caught defenseless. You know that. I will never be caught without at least one blade. And seeing as I do not trust men in the least I find it completely logical to carry at least one weapon. Besides, I am in a dress rather than assassin gear, so I have already dropped my defenses for him. That is all I can do though. You know my circumstances, Cecilia, being without gear could possibly mean death for me." "Fine, let's go," she uttered in defeat as Amara walked past her stubbornly, Adonis fluttering to Amara's shoulders instead. They walked together in silence, Adonis gazing at the surroundings cautiously, while Amara tracked the falcon's molecular levels to ensure all was safe. After having the bird so long, she had bonded so well that it was with ease that she could sense his emotions and thoughts, to the point she could see through the falcon's eyes if need be. She didn't do this often, however, because it left her blind and defenseless. |
There was ten minutes before the meeting and Revan was determined to manage his emotions. He knew he was out of control, he also knew he was exhausted but that was a simple side effect of his own dreams. He tried to slow his pacing to prolong just busting through the room in a frenzy.
The whole mansion seemed dead silent as he moved through the halls, his mind finally slowing and allowing him to think. Revan realized after a few moments of consideration, that this was bound to happen at some point. It's not like the elders were going to let him get away from the rules that everyone absolutely must follow. Honestly he felt a little special for making it so long without them chewing his face off. Revan stopped for a while to look out the window and watch the gentle mist of rain gather on the trees. He took a few deep breaths of the sweet air and let his eyes close and his mind rest. It was always amazing how fast he could just calm down, forget everything and restart. After a few minutes Revan opened his eyes and got back onto his path to the meeting room. When he reached the door he gently pushed it open and found two women on the other end of the room, talking in hushed voices, until one of them turned and looked at him with piercing eyes. He was too calm to be shaken but he could register the distrust and irritation coming from the woman. Well, there was no better time than the present to get this over with. |
{{AHAHAHA. I LOVED the piercing eyes part. it was SO like my character}}
Adonis let out a screech of warning, his head tilting as his eyes narrowed in on the man. Quietly, Amara stroked her deft fingers through the feathers, weaving a soothing path of circles like the waves of the very oceans her God created. A nurturing wushing sound left her pursed lips as her pupils dilated on the boy. She could see his molecules bouncing in compacted motions, and smelt the overlapping sense of calm. So, he was controlling himself? She wanted to know his thoughts, but decided her best route would be to allow him to reveal it as he wished. If she entered his mind in such a way, and read the chemical ballances, she would understand all of his emotions, revealing too much. Her fear was not of overstepping boundaries, but instead of becoming attached. She had no intentions of creating emotions with this man and his shaggy hair. Casting a sidways glance at Cecilia, she licked her lips in silence, her hazel eyes then piercin g thruogh the air as it burned a path back to the man's eyes, "So you are my partner then?" By rising from the table slowly she created a cautious equality, her right eyes watching his molecules to sense the purr of appreciation. Her head tilted up slightly, a wisp of silver hair slithering out of her braid and licking at her face, her hazel eyes narrowing. "I do not work well with men," her words were closely followed by a slap to her hip from Cecilia, which Amara chose to ignore, her face a stern mask of surveillance. She could choose to be a facade nice person to him, or tell him upfront, and judging by his smell he had the same feelings toward her. Admitting the problem is the first step to resolving it. Across the world, Jacob had finished bathing in the river, and now lay in the field under the skin, the heat licking away the water from his golden skin. His eyes fluttered closed, the sun causing his eyelashes to beat against his skin like the very beating that woke him each morning. With his eyes closed, he slowed his breathing, attempting to tap into Amara more thoroughly as his daily chore. She had hidden well from him this time, but it was never well enough. His heartbeat raced, his stomach knotting with irritation as his blood spiked in anger, the pressure of something on his shoulder. Wrinkling his eyebrows, he frowned ever- so- slightly. Sometimes she could sense him tapping in, and he could feel their emotions change together, but she seemed to be caught up in something else. The wisp of her braid tickled at his back, nipping at the landscape of muscles. Lately her hair had been in the same style each day, and at night when she took it out he nearly fell at sensation of release. And each night, he would hunt down a woman to contain the flustered emotions. Which country should he get the woman from tonight? Perhaps he'd stay here a while longer...the women here are rather wild in bed. |
Revan kindly sized her up, examining her posture and body language. Well at least they have something in common.
"My name is Revan, I'll be your new partner starting today." He stepped forward and politely bowed to her. "I understand your feelings and I want you to know that I understand and respect them." She continued to watch him and she was a little less kind as her eyes sized him up. The bird on her Shoulder was nearly glaring at him and it made Revan smile a little. "I have a feeling that you know about as much about me that I know about you, meaning nothing. I want you to know that I am very much not human, I am very strong but my specialties are in healing. I can use most all weapons but I prefer the katana and short sword. And these," Revan opened his massive raven wings so that she could examine their size and shape, "Are real and I do fly." Revan watched her face for any reaction but the bird on her shoulder started screeching and puffed up while glaring at him. At this point he was honestly surprised by such a violent reaction and he gave the bird of a curious look. |
Amara's eyes averted to her bird, and she began to make the same whirring sound from puckered lips, the bird leaning it's head closer to her. The birds eyes were still wary of the man, but his heart rate calmed as her sounds flooded through his veins and soothed his nerves.
Amara looked back at the man with a blank stare, her nostrils flaring as Adonis's hormones overwhelmed her sense of smell, "Do not mind him. Falcons are extremely territorial, and seeing as your wrings are larger than his, his instincts are overwhelming him because he is doubting whether he can protect his territory; me. He will become accustomed to the new idea quickly, after he sizes you up, or show his dominance..." Her eyebrow quirked up slightly. She didn't want to admit that part of what he told her she already knew. For instance, the elf ears gave away his ethnicity; she didn't even have to use her powers for that. The weaponyr part she did not know however ebcause she chose not to look into his brain chemical levels. Her eyes had gazed over his massive wings in appreciation, they would come in handy during missions. The bow had set her off a little; most men in this time would never show such submission to a woman, and her stomach flipped at the empowering sensation. Perhaps he was not so bad, if he was not only willing to view her as an equal, but as a superior when the situation provided for it. Deciding to be polite and offer as much information as he did, her lips parted, "I am Amara, an Elite created by the Gods; one in particular. I also have the super human abilities you possess, and specialize in," she hesitated as she decided what to call her ability without allowing him to know the extent of it, "psychology and sociology. My weapons of choice are usually blades or hand to hand combat. I do not have wings, though, "Adonis pecked at her ear and squawked, "excuse me, my wings are not as large, and cannot carry me. This, is Adonis, and he is a very proud bird so you may have trouble with him. For the most part, I suggest you leave him be." |
Revan smiled and he felt more comfortable in the room. He pulled out the uncomfortable wooden chair on his side of the table and took a seat. He understood what she meant when she had said her specialties lie in psychology and sociology. He himself was rather attuned to people but he was no expert. He could tell that his display of respect and near submission was what allowed them to continue to talk so he felt no need to change his more gentle behavior. She sat after a moment of consideration and watched him carefully.
"I like Adonis, he is very handsome. I hope that if he can understand me that he will know that I am no threat to you. I am only to be your... third, pair of eyes." Revan shifted to a more comfortable position and rest his elbows on the table. "I understand that this may be difficult for the both of us but I would really like to be able to work with you as efficiently as possible, so I want to establish a pact with you. I promise I will never lie to you, no matter how difficult the truth may be, or how personal I will always answer you honestly and openly. You don't need to do the same but I want to offer this to you." He reached out his hand to her and looked into her eyes, their cool blues like the open sky. |
Amara hesitated, her slender fingers rubbing together before leaving her lap to wrap into his, "I accept your pact, and I will be as honest as I can within my knowledge abilities. I normally do not lie, so there is no worry there."
Cecilia cleared her throat in the background, "If I may interrupt the bonding for a moment?" She stood from her spot at the end of the table across from them, making her way over as she pulled a rolled parchment out of her cloak, and splayed it across the table, "Kyoshi, your trainer, and i will be making a joint effort in training the two of you simultaneously. Before then, you both have temporarily been revoked of your assassin ranks, because we cannot have the two of you attempting a target if you have not learned each others methods first. When we believe you two are bonded enough in terms of work we will return your status. We, Kyoshi and I, will be ensuring you two learn in intimate detail of each others strengths and weakness, and begin to naturally make up for them on the battlefield." Amara's nostrils flaired with stench of Cecilia's nervousness, and her own anger, "You cannot revoke my status, nor his. We are both high standing and trained assassins and are well capable of taking down our targets swiftly and stealthily." Cecilia looked at both of them with grim eyes, "This is not a punishment, we are simply ensuring the safety of our creed, even if it means hard decisions are to be made." Amara glanced at Revan, her lips pursed, "I will not stand for this." Jacob ran his fingers through his hair as anger pulsed through his veins, his teeth gritting in pure hatred, his mind racing as he tried to dig deeper into what was causing Amara's anger. If he could decode her emotions, it could lead to her whereabouts, and if he trained hard enough, mythology revealed he could see through her eyes when her defense was down. Shoving off the ground, he pulled out of her mind, the anger too overwhelming as he stormed into his cabin and yanked on his clothes. When he got bombarded with her emotions like that, it made him despise women all the more. Could none control their emotions? Not even a woman created by Gods? |
Revan seemed unfazed by this announcement, in fact he had figured as much. It had been so long since he had to retrain like this but it was logical and effective, thus he let it go. He reached out and touched Amara's hand gently to draw her attention from her trainer.
"If we are able to work well together it could be as little as a week before we get our ranks back. It's better to take this with grace than to fret over something we have little control over." He was a little saddened when she glared harder at him. "Our ranks are only titles, we still retain all our knowledge and skills. The only reason we must do this is because you and I both must learn how to take care of one another, to be able to communicate without words and to be able to protect one another from our weaknesses. It is difficult and it will be frustrating but it's the most effective way to go about it." He rubbed his forehead as over his right eye he felt a massive headache forming. Revan suddenly felt shaky and less calm, even agitated as the ache made him clench one fist. The pain passed after a few more seconds and both women were now eying him. "Sorry, that happens sometimes, um, could you please excuse me?" He stood and nearly fled the room as wisps of a smokey like substance exuded from his wings. |
Amara had nearly been insulted by the tone Revan and used with her. She was millions of years older than him, and here he was coaching her as if she was a newborn. It was flat out embarrassing. She knew she had overreacted, , but she did not expect that he would actually correct her behavior. How dare he? She created his race for God's sake.
When he left the room, his wings smoking, her pupils dilated and zoned in on his molecules. He had fled the room too quickly for her to analyze what was occurring. Sitting in her chair, she hesitated. She could play into this and follow, or remain her ground and allow him to keep his pride and personal matters to himself. When Cecilia gave Amara a warning look, she stood from the table, giving Cecilia a bland look as she calmly stepped out of the room. Her dilated pupils read the air, following the emotions that Revan had trailed behind him. She didn't want to follow; she wanted to remain in that room and leave his personal business be. However, if this was a reoccurring thing, which he stated it was, she must know of the extent so it did not create an opening for enemies during missions. Her small feet were light against the stone hallway floor as she swiftly followed suit, her dress flowing behind her, creating silent ripples of light. Adonis spread his wings, the wind from her running giving him just enough lift the soar through the air. His hormones splurged with happiness and contentment, his falcon eyes deadly as this became a game of chase for him, soaring ahead of Amara instinctively. |
He knew that he had forgotten something this morning but he hadn't thought it would be this awful. The pain in his eye was back but it was second to the way his body felt like it would implode. His wings were beating fiercely as he looked for his usual place to let go. The feeling of the magic in his body was like fire, he felt like he was going to burn to death from the inside out but that wasn't even close to the truth.
When he touched down he just tumbled into a heap on the ground. The feathers on his wings looked like they were on fire and he couldn't help the little whimper that escaped his throat. He slowly forced himself to kneel and spread his wings and arms. Wave after wave of pure magical energy ripped through his body with enough force to nearly render him unconscious but he stayed in his position until the last wave of magic passed. He collapsed into a heap and he dug his hands into the loose earth, it was wrong how good it felt but he couldn't think much more. He laid for a moment and just enjoyed the feeling of life exuding from the earth around him, his fevered body cooling to match the temperature of the now charred grass he was laying on. |
Amara frowned as the wisps of emotion pulled her outside. Her dilated pupils scanned the grounds, Adonis flying higher and scanning the grounds. She sensed the spike in his adrenaline when the falcon located Revan a ways off, and the bird began leading Amara. She raced through the trees and limbs, her body a blur left to whisper in the wind as she outran the speed of light, twigs and branches scratching at her. If her partner was injured the bureau would definitely murder her at a high price. At least, if they could figure out how to kill her that is. A smile pulled at her lips as she thought about Jacob in who knows where feeling the sting of branches and thorns stabbing past his skin, and him unable to do anything about it. Serves him right for stealing her of her sleep, knowing perfectly well what affect he had on her, and how well their bodies would linked. Just to make it worse for him, she ran closer to brush, the little bushes whipping against her legs.
After a few minutes she came into a small clearing, her legs ceasing in an abrupt stop as she quietly watched from the edge of the forest line. Her hair was in a mess, twigs randomly sticking out from it like angry thorns. Her chest rose and fell under the grip of her dress slightly quicker than normal, her adrenaline stinging her veins. Her hazel eyes narrowed as she looked into Revan, reading his molecular levels. The amount of energy surrounding him was astounding, an emotion of sweet release around him. She'd only seen the whir of energy in a few situations. The two most popular were the afterglow of sex, and a magical release. Seeing as there was a circle of charred grass enclosing him, and no one to be seen, and the blood flow through his lower body seemingly normal, she guessed it was the second one. Adonis quietly perched on her shoulder, his wings closing in around him, his feathers slightly fizzled in anticipation of the man, and the uncomfortable heat surrounding him. The falcon scooted closer to her head, the warmth of his side tickling her cheek protectively. Jacob's lips pulled into a scowl as he was attacked by a flurry of stings to his body, the wind getting knocked out of him as it became harder to breathe. Closing his eyes, his soul reached out to Amara's, intertwining and swirling like two clouds sinking deliciously into each other. A whir of emotions bombarded him as he tapped into her, the stings more real, the wind licking at his face. Then it all stopped. his eyebrows furrowed as he focused, a wet drop grazing down his cheek. Dew? Rain? Water of some sort, close to something that sting when you run through...the smell is outdoors..as the thoughts connected he bolted for his map, his hand flying over the sheet as he narrowed down all areas that had forests or national parks of some sort. A grin peeked across his face, "You have finally made an error, Amara." |
After everything had stopped pulsing, Revan pulled himself up. He felt so much better but he knew it was only a side effect of the release. He flushed as his fried brain rushed to the gutter for a moment as he considered how much better a different kind of release would be... with someone else... he shook his head then violently smacked his face.
"Great, now I get to go back looking like well, this." He looked at his now charred clothes and frowned. "I can't believe the first day I meet my brand new partner and I have to go out and blow up half the forest because I had a god awful dream!" As he vented his eyes caught sight of something off to the fringe of his vision. he stood shakily and moved closer to the thing until he could make out Amara's confused and curious face, Adonis glaring at him from all the way over there. He wanted to bury himself in the loving dirt but it was to late to hide so he moved closer to her hesitantly. |
{{I loved the adonis glaring from all the way over there. and the hesitant emotion :) }}
Amara's face was as bank as she could force it to be, tilted downwards and to the right slightly as an eyebrow perched up in curiosity. When he moved closer, her calf twitched instinctively, one of her hands resting on her thigh, her fingers brushing alone the cold murmur of her blade, begging for her to give it attention. She stayed in place, her eyes narrowing slightly at his approach, her eyes trying to gauge his reasoning. Her nostrils flared as she smelled his emotions, her eyelids fluttering as she read his intentions through his adrenaline levels. Deciding his intentions were well, she allowed her feet to move her closer. Her genetic coding told her to be cautious of this new concept, but her curiosity drove her further. Adonis pecked at her ear in warning, his wings flapping. If he were to ever get used to Revan, she had to make the first step. She stepped out of the moist forest into the sunlight of the opening, her pupils closing in defense against the sun. Men were not to be trusted easily... Her plump lips pursed as her jaw clenched, looked at him carefully through her eyelashes. She did not expect him to attack, but she was no longer sure what his abilities would drive him to do. It seemed by the frantic emotions as he fled the room that he could not control when this occurred. "You would think this would be an obvious thing to warn a new partner of, yet you did not. A partner needs to know if you randomly break down, incapable of controlling yourself in such a way. If this were to happen during a mission, we both surely would have died," her words scorned him, but her hazel eyes continued in a studious gaze. |
he flushed red.
"It had honestly slipped my mind. It normally doesn't happen but sometimes it becomes to much. This is probably my greatest flaw, though the genetic engineering made me near perfect to be a soldier it didn't account for something so trivial as emotions. I, because I escaped before they could finalize their experiments they were never able to finish what they started." Revan looked at her almost pleadingly, his mismatched blue eyes were watery and he brought up a burnt sleeve to wipe at them. "I am a genetically enhanced human, created for nothing more than murder and following orders, I defied all the forces when I fled and came here and this is the product. I want to promise this won't happen ever again but I can't. I have no way of really knowing when it will happen, all I know is that my own emotions feed into the magic until my body can no longer hold it in. Before you walk away I want you to know that I can also predict the future through my dreams and I've lost so many friends because I was too late to save them." Revan was exhausted and so sad, his chest hurt with the weight of it, that his own deficiencies might scare another person off was more real than he could explain. |
{{You might want to be careful as to avoid getting a Gary Stu. He seems to keep adding powers that weren’t in the bio.}} Amara’s lips remained closed as her hazel eyes continued to study him as he confessed his abilities and weaknesses to her. She contemplated what to say, Adonis preening in her hair. She had heard of the human’s scientific experiments when she was younger. They had started before this boy’s time, but were more archaic. She guess during his generation of experiments all kinds of machines were used. They probably poked and prodded him to discover advantages for their army. When humans did such things it repulsed her, and made her angry with the Gods for giving them such traits. When she was a few millenniums younger she had come across such a place. They called it an insane asylum, and she went to seek refuge. What she found horrified her. People were strapped into chairs, injected with experimental drugs. They were stuck in ice cold water to relax them. Pregnant women were strapped down and their doctor tore out their baby, believe the baby would be just as crazy the mother. Her hazel eyes fluttered at him as she contemplated what he underwent, smelling his sadness, “Were all of the powers caused by the experiments?” Soon she would open up to him, but she would ensure her emotions remained untouched. He could see her mind, but never her heart. She would only have to leave him. |

{{sorry about that, I went and removed it... I was trying to define more what he can do but that led to too much, sorry.}} He looked at her for a while then turned his face to the sky. "Most everything I can do is because of the genetic modifications." Revan's wings tucked close to his body and he looked almost like a massive black bird. Revan and Adonis both turned their heads as something in the fringe of the trees rustled. Kyoshi held up his hands and smirked at the mess of chaired ground. "I see you've survived. You ready for training?" Revan gave him a confused and irritated look. "I just blew a massive crater in the ground and you act like that's normal." Kyoshi just shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly. "With you, it is. So who's up for a little mission?" |
Amara's hazel eyes turned to Kyoshi as her feet began to move one in front of the other. Her gold sandals making barely a sound in the massive forest, she sniffed quietly, Kyoshi's scent of eagerness tickling at her nostrils like a teasing feather. She rubbed at it with irritation, angry with herself for not noticing Kyoshi coming from farther away. As an assassin she shouldn't allow distractions, but she could admit that the new information on Revan had left her quite vulnerable in her state of confusion and curiosity.
The walk back to the grounds was long and quiet, Amara casting glances at Revan each time she sensed him looking at her. She felt for sure he had been glancing at her, but she never turned her gaze quick enough to catch him in the act. Adonis, however, had not taken his eyes off of the two. She was careful, holding branches certain ways as to protect her falcon from the thorny whips. Entering the grounds, her eyes flew to Kyoshi in expectation, Adonis's jittery molecules driving her crazy with anticipation. Now she was glad she had brought her blade. A twist gnawed at her stomach as her hazel gaze dropped to his tucked in black wings, wondering how to make up for his advantage with her own. Would she even have to fight him? "We'll start with a simple hand to hand combat fight, no weapons," he looked between the two, "and no killing each other." Cecilia came up behind him, "Learn each others techniques, focus on the movements of your partner," she paused, "their breathing, their emotions and very existence. Anything and everything; focus on it " |
