"That's was before I knew you weren't a bad person." Roxas stated. Why was Axel trying to make him hate him or something? Was he not allowed to have a good opinion of him?
"It is rather nice to hear that. I am sure that there are many who don't feel that way though." Axel had started this conversation to tease Roxas but he had forgotten that purpose and was now worrying about the other vampire families. Word would pass quickly about what had happened. It would be one more mark that he was flawed and weak. He was going to need to do something drastic so that even if any felt like facing him they wouldn't.
"If they don't then that's their problem." Roxas stated, smiling slightly at Axel. His eyes dropped after a moment back to his book. He had just remembered that he was holding it and wanted to get back to reading. Then maybe go do something else.
Axel watched as the boy's eyes dropped back to his book and closed his mouth for his next response. It is nice to see their minds change on things. He looked back down at the fire in his hand and started spinning it into pretty designs.
Roxas tried to focus on his book. But what Axel was doing was distracting him. His eyes went back to the redhead as he watched him mess with fire. What he was doing was pretty cool. But he stayed silent about it.
Axel shifted the flame from a playful little fox to a simple lily then finally into a phoenix. He had it fly for a moment then it swooped around in a circle only to disappear. He dropped his hand back down and sat back in his chair. He closed his eyes and carefully touched the minds of his family one by one. Everything seemed to be alright but he kept talking to his family.
"That was so cool!" Roxas exclaimed. He was sure that he'd never seen anybody do anything like that before. It really was amazing. He smiled slightly at Axel, a bit disappointed that the redhead had stopped playing with the fire. But it didn't let that show. He wasn't going to tell the other to keep going.
Axel said his finally words to his family and quickly came back to himself. He smirked over at Roxas. "Why thank you. Many of my kind never understand the beauty of our powers. Even the ones that don't have powers like mine and Ice's could still do beautiful things." He shook his head and sighed but brought up several balls of flame around himself. He turned them into mythical fire animals like salamanders, phoenixes, and dragons then had them romp or fly around the room.
Roxas watched in awe. This really was amazing. "Well. I think its awesome!" he exclaimed. Seeing this was definitely was making him like being around Axel. "I think your powers are cooler than Ice's is." he told him. He always thought fire was better than ice. At least, he was sure that was what he thought.
"Well, I wouldn't say cooler. I think hotter is a much better word." He winked at the young man. "I do like the moveability in mine better but her creations do last longer. And she is wonderful at a party. Makes the prettiest little ice cubes." He laughed then thought about that. Maybe it is time for a party. Show off the power of the family again. Make them remember why they don't attack.
He couldn't help but smile at what Axel said. "I'm sure it is pretty. But I still like your fire better." he told him. Then his eyes dropped back to the book. Even if he couldn't focus on the story.
Axel puffed out his fire creations. The fire was made from his energy and even though these creations were small they did use up his energy. Not enough to really bother him too much but it was best not to waste energy when he didn't need to, or at least when no one was watching.
"I am entertaining an idea and I would like to hear what you have to think. I think it might be time to host a party. Now parties, or at least the ones that involve more then the family here, are vastly different then normal parties. Other vampire masters come, with one or two of their underlings and a few of their humans, to these parties. On the surface it is like any other party but really it is the host family showing the other masters how strong they are." |
Roxas looked back at Axel, closing the book and setting it on his lap. It didn't look like he was going to be reading anymore today. He thought about what the redhead said. "I think that sounds like a great idea." the blond stated. Maybe by doing that he'd be able to remember more about himself.
"Good." Axel quickly stood up with a speed that no human could match. "Then I have some work to get down before the end of the night. You may stay here or go see Maria and her beau. If you do go see her make sure you tell them about the party. They'll be in the room that is down this hall, third door to the right." With that he swiftly moved out of the room.
Roxas nodded and watched Axel leave. After a moment, he stood and put his book back on the shelf. He spend a moment looking for another one before just leaving and heading down the hall. He knocked lightly on the door that the redhead said Maria was in.
