Misaki frowned. He had actually forgotten that he was supposed to call Usagi. And why did he assume that the brunette had gotten a detention so close to the beginning of the year. It wasn't high school. Did college even give out detentions? "I'm still at the school. But you don't need to come get me. I'm going to go hang out with a few guys from school."

Usagi listened on the other end of the phone as he almost saw red and cracked the phone in half when he heard that Misaki was going to to be staying and hanging at school with some friends. "Misak," said Usagi trying to think up a quick lie to keep him from going out. He sighed coming up with nothing. "Alright," said Usagi. "Have a good time and be safe."

Misaki raised an eyebrow, surprised. Part of him had expected that Usagi would have demanded that he stayed home. But he smiled, happy. "I will~" he said, his tone taking on a happier edge from when he had answered the phone. "I'll call you if I need a ride home." He didn't think he would, but he figured he might as well say that to reassure Usagi that he'd be safe.

Usagi was downright angry at himself for letting Misaki go and hang out with someone that he didn't even know. He wanted to say something, anything, the brunette, but all he said was alright, go ahead. He slammed the phone down into the cradle and then went back to his typing.
Sumi looked at Misaki and smiled as he said,"So are you ready to go? We're meeting some of the guys a few blocks from here at a karaoke bar. They're nice people, you'll like them." |
Misaki nodded and smiled at Sumi as he hung up the phone. "Yeah! Let's go~" he said, eager to enjoy the feeling of carefree freedom that college life was supposed to supply. "Lead the way."

Sumi was glad that the brunette in front of him was so excited that they were going somewhere together. He took the other male's arm and looped it with his own as he walked with him down the street and to the karaoke bar where they were meeting friends. "Oh if anyone asks who you are you can tell them that we are dating." He didn't know how Misaki would react to that, but it was bound to be entertaining. Usagi lit another cigarette as he paced in the condo that he was currently in. God, he couldn't focus. It was driving him insane. Why could he focus!? |
Misaki didn't mind when Sumi looped their arms together. But a confused look crossed his face when he heard what was said. "Okay.... But.. Why?" he asked. He didn't mind, not really. But he was curious as to why. Wouldn't it be easier just to say they were friends? But he wasn't going to question much about Sumi's reasons. After all, the brunette figured that he knew what he was talking about.

Sumi thought for a moment and then said,"I think it would be fun to see my friends' reactions if you want to do that that is. I'm not going to force you." They continued to walk down the street and then Sumi topped in front of the karaoke bar and said,"We're here." Sumi opened the door and walked in as he held the door open for the brunette as well.

Misaki shook his head. "I don't mind." he said. Sumi did have a valid reason. Besides, he would be curious to see how these friends would react as well. Once they got to the karaoke bar, a nervous feeling grew in the brunette's stomach. What if they didn't like them? He pushed that thought aside as he entered, scanning the place even though he had no idea who he was looking for.

A hostess walked up to them and Sumi talked with her briefly before he was led to a private room where there were 5 people sitting down. There were 2 girls and 3 boys sitting there with drinks around them. "Hi guys," said Sumi as he looked at his friends. "This is Misaki."

Misaki smiled when he was introduced and Sumi's friends returned the smile. At least they seemed to welcome him, which was a good sign. But the brunette was curious as to why they were in a private room instead of the main room, but said nothing. He didn't want to risk saying something that would end up getting him ignored.

Sumi was glad that Misaki was fitting in with the rest of the people that were there, and that was even before they had begun to sing. "Let's get this party started," said Sumi as he grabbed a nearby microphone and began singing.

Misaki smiled and took a seat, easily getting along with the group that was there. He was glad that he decided to tag along and not gone back to the condo. One of Sumi's friends offered Misaki a drink, but he politely refused. The brunette didn't think it was right for him to be drinking underage. Plus, the last thing he needed was to go home drunk. Who knew what Usagi would have done then?

Sumi was done finishing his song as he noticed one of his friends was trying to buy the brunette a drink. He was glad when he saw the Misaki refused to get the drink. After he was done he handed the mic over to Misaki as he sat down next to him as he said,"Go and sing a song, Misaki."

Misaki froze for a second, not exactly liking going up to perform in front of people. But he figured since he was supposed to be having fun, so he took a deep breath and stood up. "Well... Alright.." he said, going up on the stage and taking the mic. He thought for a second on what song and smiled lightly when he started singing.

Sumi clapped his hands together as he looked at some of his friends, which they then clapped as well, when Misaki began singing. Misaki was a born natural when he began singing, and it brought a smile to Sumi's lips.

Once the song was over, Misaki instantly sat down, feeling very self-conscious. One of Sumi's other friends went up to take the mic and she started singing. "How'd I do?" he asked, feeling almost certain that he sounded horrible. But he wanted to make sure, and not just feel like he was belittling himself.

Sumi listened to Misaki singing and he almost melted. The brunette had a really good voice. Sumi looked at Misaki when he felt the other male sit down next to him as he turned and threw his arm around the others shoulder. "You did really well," said Sumi as he looked at Misaki.

Misaki smiled at the compliment. "Thanks~" he said, even if he wasn't 100% sure if Sumi was just saying that to be nice. The brunette convinced himself that his friend actually meant it. He felt Sumi's arm around him, but thought nothing of it. But he knew that if Usagi had done that, he would have instantly moved away... Probably because Usagi was a pervert and Sumi was not. Well... Not that he was aware, at least.

Sumi was amazed that Misaki didn't pull away from him when he placed his arm around the other male's shoulder. "Do you want anything to drink or to eat?"

Misaki thought for a moment. "Well... I am kinda thirsty." he admitted after a moment of silence. He didn't know why, but he just didn't seem to be hungry at all today. But he could most definitely have something to drink. His throat felt dry and he wanted something to help it.

Sumi nodded his head as he looked around for a hostess to come and serve them. A server came over and he said that he wanted two waters one without ice. The hostess nodded and then left. A few more songs were sung, and then the woman came back with their water. Sumi took a sip of his water as he handed the other water to Misaki to drink.
Usagi cursed again as he practically flung the phone across the room. Why wasn't Misaki picking up his phone. It wasn't late or anything, and there was plenty of time to get a train to come home, but when Misaki didn't come home as expected, which he knew about it anyway, he became apprehensive. |
Misaki waited patiently for his water to come and when it arrived, he took a sip gratefully. The water definitely did help with the dryness in his throat. His phone, which was turned on to silent, was currently in his pocket. He pulled it out to glance at it while he listened to the other people sing. He frowned when he seen that he had a missed call. "I'll be right back." he said to Sumi, standing up. "I got to make a call real quick." He stepped out of the room, wanting some privacy as he called the home phone to the condo.

Sumi nodded as he saw his friend leave the private room that they had rented as he slightly glared at the boys back as the other was leaving. He didn't like being apart from him because he knew immediately knew what that meant. It meant that Usagi was calling him. He was given the mic again and declined as he took another drink from his water. Usagi dialed the number again, but before it sent the phone starting ringing as he looked at it. That was something that he wasn't expecting. "Hello," he said as he held the phone to his ear. "This is Usagi Akihiko." |
(His name is Usami, but Misaki is the only one who calls him Usagi))
Misaki was surprised at how quickly Usagi had answered the phone. The only way it could have been that fast was if the man was either sitting right next to it or holding it in his hand. "Usagi-san... Why do you keep calling me?" he asked, hoping that didn't come out as rude. "I said I would call when we were done." |
