Medieval Weaponry

Anyone else on Mene happen to know anything about or share a real interest in Medeival Weaponry and/or Attire?

For a long time know I have found a real interest in Medeival weapons and their uses, I'd be happy to learn more, should any of you happen to know a thing or two, I'd appreciate it if you would share...

As far as attire...I am Scottish and I enjoy the ever so iconic Kilt, I wear them in real life, as well as on Mene and Gaia...I fend them to be entirely fascinating and comfortable. How do you Menewshians feel about Kilts and other such Celtic attire?

Medieval weaponry is totally awesome.
As in medieval attire.
I'm part Scottish and part Irish and do take an interest in those cultures as well.
I've never worn a kilt myself. I don't even know where I'd be able to get one around where I live.

I would love to wear a kilt, but I can't find a legit on in Mississippi. Do you freeball it? Or wear something under it?

Also, how do you know a quality kilt from a cheap knock off? I would guess the quality of the fabric. Do the colors mean anything? Like, different colors/patterns for different family crests?

Don't care, love my Syringe. ;)

You hit it pretty much right on the nose. All I can say is that my family Tartan(which is what its called) is VERY ugly colours. Some sort of puke-green and orange.

I would wear a kilt every now and then(for special occasions) but I dont have one, and like I said about my family colours...they are ugly. At least, the current ones are. Im not even sure how to tell if its a good quality kilt or not.

And as for weapons, well, I love me my swords. And hope to get a bigger collection at some point. The 1 good sword(which is actually a Kit-Rae fantasy sword) isnt quite enough for me.

I've actually never really gotten in Medieval things, but they are interesting. ;3

Speaking of swords, I have a model katana, tanto and a replica elven sword from Lord of the Rings

I own... Various weapons. A jousting spear, shields, a couple of swords... Two bows... Yeah, I like my sharp pointy objects. XD

My blood-line is all over the place: Irish, Scottish, English, French, German, Cherokee and Apache. All American mutt. Not sure what clan we may 'belong' to, though.

I used to collect weapons. I got tired of it tho because the occasional person'd make it into my house by means of a party or being friend of a friend and cause drama, ie. steal one, or take one down w/o permish and threaten someone or break something swinging it ineptly....I don't have enough money to collect cool things AND collect the kinds of security to protect same, so I just stopped collecting.

I live in Seattle, and kilts are big here, since we're a pretty intense cultural meltingpot. There's one brand around here that's known for being exceptionally high quality, and you may want to check them out: they're called Utilikilt.

As for swords, I'm a cosplayer and anime fan, so I have a Rurouni Kenshin sanabato replica and a very pretty hand-forged rosewood tanto. I'm also trained in bojutsu, so I own a few staves.

I would love to be trained in bojutsu, and any form of swordmanship. Mostly, because with the way my back yard is right now, its pretty much a prefect place for me to just go out and practice. And because its a good way to stay active. And since summer is coming up, I would probably be out there later in the evenings/late night.

...Im going to have to look into places that teach bojutsu, or swordmanship around here now. >.>

Luckily I live in a pretty good area for it. Huge Asian population = dojos for every style you can think of! My friend and I also took three years of iajutsu (traditional samurai swordsmanship, more on the history and honor aspect than kendo, which focuses on the fighting), and I'm looking into Chinese fan fighting next.
