Static (KisuxKitkat)
This thread is for Kisu and Strawberry Kitkat to post in only. Thank you. |
The woods by this medium sized town were perfect. There were fresh streams, caverns, and so many lovely trees. The only problem was the inhabitants of the city. It wasn't home to just humans. Vampires dwelt there as well. It was clear to the wolves' noses as they ran and played. The scent was hard to describe, flooding Damian's nostrils, making them feel like he'd stuck it into ice cold water on a dare. The vampires, however, had yet to show their faces, but this was their territory, since they'd moved in the area. It could be a problem, it might not be. Right now, it was worth the risk. The pack was content, laying about in the cold moonlight, most in wolf form. Damian's own brown streaked white coat shimmered and his skin twitched. For now, he supposed all the could do was wait and feed themselves, until the hand was revealed. |
Rebecca's apartment was more of a loft, really, located near the outskirts of the city. As soon as she had gotten inside, she took her jacket off and sat down on the couch, opening the file. Inside were pieces of paper with tracking information scrawled on them, as well as photos of a few weres in the area. |
Damian was never happy with sitting still, and was bored fidgeting. Eventually, he was moving again, with a purpose this time. There was a small halfcircle of wolves, sitting in front of a scarred male, as well as a female with the longest hair Damian had ever witnessed on a wolf. Both were starting to gray around the muzzles, but from the attention they were recieving, it was clear who was in charge. Entering the area, the alpha fell quite, and true to custom, Damian lowered himself to his stomach, crawling forward and nuzzling the buttom of the male's maw, then did the same to the female, though the gray muzzled male watched intently. "We're discussing who shall go into the vampirie lair, act as an a peacemaker, Damian." "Cyrus, a peacemaker? Why not take over this area?" Damian asked, curious, and joining the others in the circle. He was no special member, but anyone who wished could hear what was decided, and offer their opinions to their alpha. They'd simple preform the Ritual of Respect, get filled in, and plop down. The white, shaggy wolf shook his head before tilting it. "We don't even know if they know we are here yet...why not push them from the area?" "That's not our way. We left for that reason, why would we bestow this misforture unto others?" Damian was silent for this, and Cyrus continued, "I believe we could live in peace, though it would be strange. As a matter of fact, that's why we are still here. No one knows the best way to approach these vampires, since they wouldn't understand our customs...if they do not come to us soon, we must send someone to them. Sheila is sure she saw a human form in the trees earlier, and took a count of our pack. We were all here, so the vampiries know we are here." Damian bit his tounge, resisting the urge to point out it was pronounced 'vampire' instead of 'vampirie'. "Damian should do it." A new voice filled the air, and multiple heads turned to the source. A large brown wolf stood on all fours and shook himself, staring at the white one. His gaze wasn't outright a challenge, however, the glint behind them made Damian want to growl and lunge at him. This was Maliki, a strong contender for the next alpha. Perhaps he hoped Damian would be killed in the process, and he would be one less enemy. "It would be a good learning lesson, since he thinks the cold beasts should give their home up for us..." Cyrus debated this for a while, laying down. The female seemed to think as well, and finally spoke. "I think it would be good..." Her blue eyes were clouded over, and there was much debate in the pack as to whether or not their alpha female was blind. "I think Damian should do it. He is rather good with words." It was decided before she finished, Damian knew, since pack males were devoted to their females, and the eyes Cyrus turned to Sheila were full of that worship. "When the send someone to us, you will be the voice of the pack. If no one comes tonight, we will send out scouts to find them, and send you to them, Ayramejet..." Damian's head lowered, another sign of respect as his alpha gave the command, though he wished to howl and growl. His wolf name being used made him feel unlucky as well. Wolves had two names, their wolf name, and their human name. The human name was commonly used, and the wolf was rarely said. It was believed the name spoken too much would reveal it's secret. And secrets had power, so you would lose that power. The group broke up, wolves trotting off to bring the news to the others. The pack totalled twenty seven in all. It was extremely large, but it hadn't been big enough to protect their land. Now they were having to contend with vampires. Damian growled as he left the group, and shook himself, as if to get rid of the task he'd been assigned. His nose would never stop burning in this strange land... It wasn't long after scouts were sent out, and soon after that, a howl, high pitched, reached Damian's ears. "Stranger!" It sang out. "Stranger. Neighbor!" The whole pack was on it's feet in seconds, staring towards it. A small dark brown female burst through the trees a moment later. "Vampire. Female. Edge..." She paused to pant loudly, "Of the forest...I don't know if she's coming to speak with us...Or if she's friendly. I smelled it, strongly, and moved towards the scent. She wasn't bothering to hide..." "Let her come to us, in case she is here for a war declaration...Let her come to the pack. Damian." The white wolf glanced towards him. "You will go to her as the alpha, you will speak with her. Secrets have power, our pack's identity will remain hidden from these stranger neighbors until we decide if they are friendly. Keep in mind, we wish for peace." The wolf nodded it's head, before turning to that area. He was quivering from excitement. Every werewolf was told of the horrible looking leeches as a bedtime story, much like little red riding hood was told to human children to make them listen. How horrible was this creature going to look? Would it be worse than the stories? (Sorry my earlier post was so short...Had to leave. ^u^ Hope you like.) |
They had seen her, or at least one of them had, a small, brown wolf. Rebecca followed after her a few seconds after the small wolf had taken off, figuring she'd have to go to them. She didn't have time to stand at the edge of the woods for forever. She ducked under branches and stepped around bushes, glad that she'd worn her boots to protect her legs. Rebecca cursed as a branch caught at her hair and tore a few strands out- she was short, standing at only 5'3", but the branches were low enough to be a nuisance. |
Damian hesitated, before moving forward. The wolves around him twitched and fidgeted, though a few let out a welcoming woof. It was a quiet sound in their nose, more of a snort than anything. As a group, they wagged their tails slowly. All around, eyes were wary. Damian's own were unsure, though he did as commanded, standing in front of the female. He was tall, and the female was short. He could almost stare at her in the eyes. He glanced back, to the true alpha. "Go on." Cyrus encouraged, though it was doubtful the vampire would understand. Most of the speech of a wolf was by simple movement. The eyes, ears, tail, fur, among many other tiny items. Nervous about showing his weaker form, Damian shook himself, and shifted, melting and molding his form. It was done quickly and smoothly, with much practice. It took a split second for the whole process. "I am the Alpha Damian of the Cresent Moon pack. We've come in peace...We would offer you to hunt with us, however, since our...food sources differ, I doubt you'd wish to join. We would like to share this area with you and your cover." His words made him stand tall, pride filling his voice. As a human, his hair was an almost impossible shade of blonde, with brown highlights in it. His skin was tanned and leaned. It was as if his whole body was bred simply to run and rip an animal's throat out. He looked human now, but there was something off. His yellow eyes peered at her closely, as a human, he was much taller than her, at an even six feet, and he began evaluating this new neighor. She was a suprise, and it was a bit hard to keep that from his eyes. Rather than an ugly hag with razor sharp dripping fangs, there stood a fiery red head, with rather lovely...assests. He leaned forward slightly, inhaling. Sharp, cold air shot up into his nostrils, making goosebumps break out on his exposed skin, only wearing deercloth pants. Her scent was clearly female, though it still made him with to growl and attack. Surely this would be impossible. Cyrus was wrong... |
Rebecca watched, with a mixture of curiousity and awe, as the monster wolf before her shifted into a man. It had taken only a second, but it was long enough for her to see it. She pursed her lips slightly- her throat suddenly felt dry. Not a painful, burning dry, like when she needed to feed, but a dusty dry, like the sun had withered away her vocal chords. She inhaled, trying to find her voice, and had the thick scent of werewolf clog her throat. She had a feeling this would be a long night. |
Rebecca introduced herself, no title, and no custom. So she wasn't the coven master...Damian's thoughts were verified a moment later. "A warning?" The werewolf repeated, his eyebrows lifting as he stared down at her. The wolves in the glade echoed his thoughts as growls rose up. Damian lifted his arms, crossing them over his chest. Selecting his own words carefully, he answered her questions, without giving away too many details. "These are dark times for anyone who lives in the night. People you think were friends can quickly turn into enemies. People you thought were enemies could become worthy friends." He hesitated here, once again glancing away. After taking instructions from Cyrus, Damian turned back to her, his eyes darkened. He growled softly, and shook himself in human form, finally glaring at her and speaking through gritted teeth. "We choose here because the hunting is good. So, your Master wishes us gone? What..." The wolf hesitated, before a growl behind him forced him to continue. "What price would it cost for us to settle here?" |
The air seemed to sizzle as the situation quickly grew tense. Rebecca held her ground, the chorus of growls causing her to bare her fangs slightly. She shook her head, reminding herself that she had to play nice. Her master did not want any kind of war started right now. |
As she spoke, the group had shifted, encircling her. Twenty seven wolves, all amazingly large. They were all growling, low in their throats, though it seemed as if they were discussing this rather than threatening her. Damian paused to growl at them all. How was he supposed to do his job if they wouldn't shut up? All the wolves fell silent, as if he was their alpha, except for Maliki, who snarled. Even after Damian stared him down, and the wolf had laid, Maliki's fangs were bared. "That's not peace." Damian finally ground out, his eyes narrowing. "Are you saying, then, that your Master will not allow peace between us, that he would view us not as neighbors, but enemies?" He stepped forward, closer to the female, so she could feel the heat from his body. "Are you saying there shall be war between us?" His meaning was clear, though couldn't technically be classified as a threat. "I will ask again. What is the price of peace to your people?" Every movement from the wolves stopped, and they leaned foward, staring intently at the female. She was, after all, in the midst of them. And if there was no chance of peace, well, they had no where else to go. A coven of vampires was prefered to an army of there own. They could take one out now, or perhaps have a hostage to use against them. Either way... Cyrus pushed up, standing on Damian's left side, his old eyes filled with sadness. His pack would never be the same, no matter what she said, and he didn't like that he'd have to lead them through the changing times. |

The brown wolf with hair that trailed along the ground stood, her slim frame moving quickly. When she stood beside her mate, she shifted. The woman who took her place wore a thin gown, and her hair, much like her wolf form's, touched the ground. "Back up, Damian!" She commanded, and the male hesitated, confused, but did as she asked. "We can't leave. Where are we to go? Whether this will be good, or whether it will devestate our pack, we have no choice." The other wolves seemed to take this to heart as well, and all except Cyrus and herself back up quickly, leaving a much wider space with the three wolves and vampire. Shelia turned to the woman, her own blue eyes cloudy. "Why did your master not come? We will go to him then. Damian, go with Miss. Rebecca, meet the Master of the coven." She took a deep breath. "Explain all the details. Hopefully, a vampire still has pity in it's still heart." Despite her words, she smiled kindly at Rebecca. "Perhaps, while our new guest shows you to her master, you can tell her our story as well." Damian whined, and lowered his head slightly, before nodding. He didn't wanna! "There isn't any chance of this without war." He was still in human form, and spoke normally. Sheila shrugged, "We won't know unless we try. Plus, your Time is coming soon, so you are probably the strongest male at the moment. If things go bad, you can make your way back to us. Don't forget. Kind." She glared at the male, and he looked away immediately, whining once more. He turned back to Rebecca. There was a moment where he actually looked at her, took in her firey red hair, her strange violet eyes (No wolf ever had eyes like that.) and the tiny glimmer of fear. The wolf in him lit up, a guilt chewed at him. Females were to be treasured, protected, and he was the reason for the glimmer of fear. "Fine then. I'll meet this Master, and we will find out from him what we have to do for peace. Lead the way, please." His mouth twitched, and he added, "Miss. Rebecca..." |
Rebecca jumped, startled, as another wolf shifted, this time a female. She spoke with power and dignity, although her blue eyes were oddly clouded over. "I'm third in command in our coven," she said, with a soft shrug. They really expected her master to come out? "I am the one who takes care of such matters." |
During this whle time Damian stood quietly, glaring at the ground. It didn't really matter whether or not he trusted the vampire. He'd been given an order and had to obey. Not a happy puppy. "I don't understand," Shelia stated quietly. "You are third in command, and you are sent to us, but you cannot decide if this will be peaceful?" "Then our hands are tied. Damian must go with you." She nodded, and Damian finally looked up. "I will stay with you." He promised, and the wolves around the area dispersed, some shifting into human form. They began playing, as if there wasn't a care in the world. "Where are we to go then?" |
Rebecca only shrugged again. "I am only the messenger," she said simply. |
The male resisted the urge to glare at her, though the shocked expression was impossible to hide. "Live? You're bringing me to your lair?" He paused, and looked away. He didn't want to go into any vampire lair, let alone the female with the strange eyes'. But, what choice did he have? He finally nodded, and ran a large hand through his strange locks of hair. "Yeah, we have some clothes..." He moved away, climbing a tiny hill. Inside the hill, three pups played. They were only a few months old, by wolf terms, but they were hopping around excitedly. A head lifted from the adult babysitting. The hill curved inwards, making a sort of shield for the four wolves. "Zell." Damian nodded to him, before pushing his way past the pups who'd come to their hide-away. They jumped on him, biting his hands playfully. He opened a backpack in the semicircle, tugging out clothes, and changed in front of them. Lacking clothing in their natural state, the wolves weren't careful with nudity in this form. Fully changed, Damian returned to the female, wearing a t-shirt. Over it, he wore a faded hoodie, which made his warm body sweat horribly. But it was cold, and the humans in the area might think something if he didn't wear it. His legs were adorned with a normal pair of blue jeans, and as much as he hated them, sneakers that looked brand new were on his feet. "I'm ready. Is there anything I should know going into this, then?" The kindness had returned to his voice. After all, he didn't hold a grudge against this female, just her kind. And this Rebecca had been helpful so far. "None of your vampire will try and feed off of me,will they?" |
Rebecca gave him a droll stair, wrinkling her nose at the word lair. It made her think of a dungeon, which she certainly did not live in. "Don't worry yourself too much, wolf boy," she said coolly, one eyebrow raised. "I promise there won't be any bats to eat you." |
Damian didn't comment on most of what she said, shaking his head quickly. Typically, he was a rather quite person anyway. He'd never thought a vampire would have a sense of humor. Funny. Ar first, it didn't seem as if he'd answer her question. He thought hard about how to answer, without giving away too much. Despite his alpha's suggestion, he didn't think he wanted the vampires to know too much about them. Knowledge was power. "We come from the north. Up in the mountains. It was quiet a trip down." It had been. Sheila had been tired from whelping, and most of the other females had there year old pups to corral, so the males had to share carrying the young pups. Travelling during this time was something a wolf only did if they had to. Which also brought his thoughts into a darker place. Wolf males were getting rarer. Out of their thirty wolves, if he included the pups, their were eight males, including him. And his time was coming. He'd go into his rage, and once he came out, according to the males that had already gone through it, females wouldn't simply be something to protect and worship. He'd need to select a mate. Though there were many females to chose from, he'd need to select carefully. A wolf mated from life, and if he chose wrong, life would be miserable. And wolves lived a long time. And the rage was another thing. He'd revert to his wolf stage for a whole month, but his natural instincts would take over. Meaning, two things would be on his mind. Nookie and food. Every wolf went through this around the age of twenty five, and after words, he'd go into it every month for the first year. It seemed to trickle out after that, only coming once a year. Soon after, it would happen only everyt five. The oldest wolf Damian knew, Cyrus, only went into his Rage every twenty years. But none of this would help them if he were to inform the vampires. That brought his out of his thoughts and back to the female next to him. He sighed and continued the story slowly. "Sheila." He hesitated once more, unsure if he was still supposed the pretend to be the alpha. "The alpha female who spoke to you." Damian stated quickly. There, his words could make her assume Sheila was his mate, but he hadn't exactly lied. "Sheila had the pups about a week before we were pushed away. Immortals, as I'm sure you know, typically have huge territories, and it's been rather hard to find a new home. We've been looking for almost two months. And wolves travel quickly, so that was pretty mind blowing." Damian paused once again, glancing at her slyly. "You must know this master pretty well...What do you believe he will say? Honestly?" |
Rebecca tucked her hands into her coat pockets, listening to him talk as they went. She'd never been up north; in fact, she'd never been out of the city. She was sure that, at some point, she'd lived outside of it- once, a long time ago. But it would have have to have been before she had been changed, which had happened in this very city. Vampires didn't remember anything from their mortal lives once they had been changed; as time passed, they'd remember bits and pieces, but their mortal lives would, for the most part, remain a mystery. |
Damian kept glancing at the female as she spoke. After a moment, he touched his own neck, and shivered. He didn't know much about vampires. He doubted many wolves did. They were natural enemies, for the most part. "You wanted to be a le-" His yellow eyes darted away, and he played with one of the longer strands of his hair. "You wanted to be a vampire, then?" "Stairs." He stated quickly at her next question, glancing about. Small, cramped spaces made him feel as if he was being smothered. It was, however, not a trait he willingly advertised. "He will consider it?" Damian was quiet for a second. "What would the problem be? We wouldn't be around the humans, except for the younger pack members. They'll go to school...and a few members will get jobs. But, when we go into Rage, we leave to the wilderness, and anyone who comes back is chased off once again. We don't feed from them. What problems could he have?" |
Rebecca chewed on her lip, considering the question. Had she? She couldn't even remember. "I'm not sure," she admitted quietly. "I don't even remember that night..." She shook her head, trying to clear her mind. The past was the past, right? There was no changing it. But nothing she told herself could chase away the doubtful, melancholy look on her face. |
Damian was silent for a long while, simply letting her speak. After a bit he shrugged. "Why?" He questioned. "Why are we enemies? We don't have the same food source, so there isn't any competition in that area. Other than you all smelling...well, horrible, why couldn't we co habitat?" "As for hunters. Well, if they were to come, perhaps we could make an arrangement. You help keep the humans off our back, and we'll help with the hunters." He glanced slyly over. "Hunters aren't too big of a problem for us." Soon, the door was opened, and Damian moved to the couch, sprawling out. He surprised himself, his yellow orbs remaining on the female form as she walked away. It wasn't too often he was attracted to a female. He growled irritably at himself and pushed off the couch, pacing the room, touching various trinkets. |
