Industrial Metal?

Hey lurkers of the Music forum. I'm looking to explore the industrial metal genre a little more as I don't have very much of it in my music collection save for some Rammstein, Fashion Bomb, Powerman 5000, Orgy, and things of that nature.

Do you have any suggestions?

I really don't know any labels to music...I listen to what I like. But I think Psylcon Nine or maybe Velvet Acid Christ would fit in there?

The first one sounds familiar but I can't remember why...In any case, thanks for the suggestions, I'll look into them :)

Could you be more specific? What are you looking for because that's a pretty broad genre (man, I can't believe I am saying that)...

Are you familiar with the names I gave? They can help give you a better idea of what I'd be interested in.

Now I remember, the vocals for Psyclon Nine drove me insane.

As for Velvet Acid Christ, not feeling them either.

Have you tried listening to Opeth, or Tool? Not sure if those are really along the same lines...but they are kinda close. Maybe even some of the heavier Fear Factory songs?

PWEEP 04-04-2011 03:38 AM

All righty. Let me open my iTunes and look at what they have it categorized as

Avenged Sevenfold, Hole, Kittie, Marilyn Manson, Mindless Self Indulgence, Otep, and Zeromancer are all labeled the same as "Industrial" or "Metal" xD iTunes is so weird. Anyway, maybe one of those you'll like.

Good choice Vix! I had a huge phase with industrial, but it was years ago now so my suggestions may be rusty.

Some favourites though -

Combichrist, zeromancer, deathstars, rob zombie, suicide commando, Static X....dang i know theres more but my mind is dying from lack of sleep xD

Combichrist is a good one to check out for some industrial beats though. I saw them live and twas awesome!

Ministry.

Thanks for the suggestions, I appreciate it. I was going to spend a little time checking them out before work but thanks to my significant other picking a fight with me, I'll have to put it off until tomorrow or so.

Feel free to keep throwing names at me though!

According to Zune, Nine Inch Nails and Fear Factory are the only "Industrial" I have, and Rammstein is the only "Heavy Industrial". So, its kinda messed as to what genres are what I think.

Slowly working my way through the bands I haven't heard of. Really only digging Zeromancer so far. I like Deathstars' music but the guy's vocals annoy me to no end. Also, I've always had a dislike for Ministry :ninja:

Time for me to grab lunch with the girlfriends.

I know of a German Band calle Oomph they're Industrial. Or thats what my teacher told me when she first showed them to me.

Vix Viral 04-13-2011 12:22 AM

Eh, they're okay.
