Naomi nodded. She could go with that.
"Right," she said. "Genkai has been very kind in letting us stay here, and Yukina has been a wonderful help." |
Keiko nodded with a smile. "Well, as long as Yusuke hasn't been giving you too much trouble..."
"Hey, whoever said I was giving them trouble?!" Yusuke demanded. "You give everyone trouble!" "I do not! Not on purpose!" |
Naomi watched the exchange, a bit amused. It was kind of like watching a tennis match.
Yusuke and Keiko continued arguing, as per usual, while most everyone ignored them, having their own conversations.
"Hmm? Oh! You two are the two Koenma mentioned!" Botan jogged over to them, looking them over before smiling. "I'd never know that you weren't from here if Koenma hadn't told me!" |
Naomi blinked. Whoever this person was, she was far too cheerful. That was probably going to be an issue.
"Home isn't all that much different than here," she replied. |
"Really? That's interesting. I never would have thought that different worlds would be so similar." Botan smiled cheerfully.
Osanna felt herself twitch and she slipped away, heading outside. |
Naomi noticed Osanna slipping out the door. Traitor. Leaving her with the overly-cheerful woman...
"There are differences," she replied instead. |
"Like what?" Botan blinked. She was curious.
"We don't have three dimensions back home," Naomi replied. "I think technically we have two. And the classification system is different... The races don't live separately... Things like that."
"Ooooh. That must be neat." Botan smiled and paused when someone called her name. She turned to respond, allowing Naomi to escape if she wanted.
Naomi took the moment to escape. She wasn't going to ignore an opportunity that presented itself to her on a silver platter. Quickly, she slipped out the door and went to find some shade to settle herself in.
Osanna was sitting in the tree above her, and she shifted a branch to give Naomi more shade.
Naomi glanced up when the shade moved a bit.
"Moving into the trees now?" she teased. "I'm sure we could make you a replica of your treehouse back home." |
Osanna grinned. Only if we stick around that long, she signed.
"I'm still wondering why we're here in the first place," Naomi replied. "I mean, obviously we still need to figure out what happened, and how to make it happen again to get Ed and Al back home, but why did it bring us here?"
Osanna shrugged. Who knows? Maybe because it thought we'd be more amusing?
"Maybe," Naomi replied. "I have to admit, though... This place really isn't all that different from home. I could probably get used to the place, given enough time."
Osanna shrugged. She didn't really have an opinion. She was trying not to have an opinion.
"So, how long did you talk to the tree to get it to like you?" Naomi teased. They teased each other about such things all the time, so she knew Osanna would hear it as a joke.
Osanna grinned. I didn't. It loved me automatically. She grinned playfully.
"Typical," Naomi replied, grinning. "You get to do all the fun stuff." She waved her hands around a bit for emphasis.
Osanna just grinned. Well you get to play with ice.
"Bah, that's only fun in the winter when I have stuff to work with," Naomi replied, waving it off. "And it doesn't melt as fast." She grinned. "Though we still haven't had a snowy enough winter for me to make that uber-fort like I did back at the school." The other full-blood students hadn't really appreciated her little stunt, but she was still oddly proud of the massive snow-fort.
Osanna smiled and shook her head, just as amused as her friend. We can always go up north so you can make a snow fort.
Naomi grinned and leaned back.
"Well, apparently there's a place in this universe that's perfect," she said. "Yukina mentioned she goes home for the summer, so apparently this 'home' is amazing." She sighed. "I bet I could make the biggest snow fort ever there." |
