Osanna grinned. Now that I would like to see. Massive snow-forts, protected by ravenous man-eating pants. That mostly just drool on you.
|
Naomi snorted.
"They'd have to be frost-proof," she said. She grinned. "Just imagine the snow-fort, though. It would be amazing." She couldn't help but sigh. "Maybe we'll get enough snow for it at home next winter. This past winter was way too mild." |
Well, like I said, we could go farther north. There is definitely enough snow up there. She shrugged. We'll find a place for you.
|
"Osa, I won't drag you any further north," Naomi said. "It would be too cold for you to grow anything. I'm alright where we are." Truthfully, she wouldn't mind moving further north, but she meant it when she said she wouldn't drag Osanna with her. If she was going to go further north, she would do it on her own. She glanced back at the temple. "Think things have calmed down any?"
|
Osanna paused before she nodded. Yes. It's quieter now. Probably safe to venture back in.
|
Naomi nodded and stood, holding out a hand to help Osanna up as well.
"I really hope we don't get accosted by that overly-cheerful one again," she said. She made a face. "She homed in on me so fast I didn't know what to do." |
Osanna grinned briefly. You have to find some excuse to not talk to her, she agreed. Think Ed and Al have gone nuts yet?
|
"Absolutely," Naomi replied, grinning. There was no way such logic-based minds would be able to stay sane for very long around the cheery, bubbly girl Naomi had escaped from. "We may as well try to rescue them, then." She gave Osanna a sly look. "Unless you want to go get chatty with your fox-friend again."
|
Osanna rolled her eyes at her friend but headed inside silently, not even dignifying that with a response as she moved inside. Ed and Al were indeed starting to get twitchy, although Botan had moved off elsewhere.
|
Naomi couldn't help but grin a little bit as she followed her friend inside. Thankfully, she didn't see Botan anywhere when she went to sit down next to Ed and Al.
"Are you two doing alright?" she asked. "Sort of," Al replied. He glanced at his brother. Ed was generally the twitchier of the two, anyways. |
Ed was busy muttering things about 'not alchemically possible' and 'ignoring the laws of physics', and such things. He glanced up at the two girls and nodded to show he'd seen them before he went back to his muttering and making notes.
Osanna looked over at Naomi and shrugged. So he was kinda nuts. |
Naomi couldn't help but snicker a little bit.
"Ed," she said, "throw physics out the window just for a little bit. Your brain will hurt less." "I don't think it's possible for Brother to do that," Al commented. And to be honest, he was having a hard time of it himself. Everything was just so fantastical that he almost couldn't believe what he'd seen. |
Ed looked up at her. "But they're... But it's..."
Osanna shook her head and patted his shoulder in sympathy before she glanced around. She was starting to feel... kind of weird. Tingly, almost. Ed noticed her tension and looked at her. "What? What's going on?" |
Naomi paused as well, shuddering a bit as a tingle went up her spine.
"You mean you can't feel that?" she asked after a second. Goosebumps broke out along her arms. She glanced at Osanna, and could tell her friend was feeling it too. Al glanced from them to his brother and was about to shrug when he felt the faintest tingle along his skin. His eyes widened a fraction. That wasn't normal. |
Neither of them got a chance to respond, though. Almost as soon as the brothers felt the tingle, they all vanished.
And appeared right in the middle of Central. Osanna's eyes widened, and she looked extremely confused. Hiei looked rather pissed, actually. |
Naomi gaped.
"What?" she squeaked. "What now? Where are we?" She looked around, but nothing looked familiar at all. Al actually seemed to relax once he realized where they were. It was good to be home again where things made sense and alchemical laws applied again. "Don't worry," he said to the others. "Brother and I know where we are." Somehow, that still wasn't reassuring to Naomi. Kurama seemed to be dealing a bit better, but he was still a little tense even as he looked around curiously. |
Osanna looked around, just a little freaked out. Her eyes were wide, and she stayed close to Naomi, almost hiding behind her.
Ed smirked when he looked around. He knew exactly where they were. "Come on," he said, glancing at them. "We might as well find somewhere for you all to stay." Which might mean talking to Mustang. Damn... |
Following Ed and Al seemed like a great idea to Naomi. They knew where they were, and were the only ones in the group who did, so that made them the ones in charge. Made sense to her.
Kurama considered for a moment, and then nodded. It would be best to have someone who knew what they were doing take the lead for the time being. |
Ed led the way to Mustang's office, and he glanced over at Al. "Maybe you should keep them here, or go find the break room or something." He glanced at the rest of the group.
Osanna blinked, looking around at the rest of them and staying close to Naomi. She did not like this universe jumping business. Hiei didn't seem pleased at being dismissed, but he had no other option at the moment unless he wanted to try exploring on his own. And who knows how well that would work. |
Al nodded.
"Good idea," he said. "I think it's best to keep them here, so I can keep track of them and you can find us afterwards." He knew exactly what his brother was about to do, and knew it was best to keep out of the way. Naomi looked nervous, and stayed close to Osanna. Jumping dimensions the way they were just wasn't natural, and they were starting to get some stares. That made her shrink back a little more. She hated being the center of attention. Kurama gave Hiei a Look, very plainly telling him to stay put. This was no time to be splitting up, not when they had no idea what was going on. There would be time to explore later, he was sure. |
Ed nodded and went to go find Mustang to have a nice long conversation with him.
Osanna blinked when they were all herded into a break room, and she got as comfortable as she could, leaning back against a wall with Naomi next to her. She just wanted to go home. Hiei snorted but stayed put with the rest of them, across the room from Naomi. |
Naomi leaned against the wall as well, glancing around the room.
At least nothing's attacked us yet, she finger-signed to her friend. It seemed to be a better option than speaking loud, at the moment. That's a plus. Kurama settled himself down across from Osanna. He could see she was unsettled, and he couldn't blame her. This whole situation was unsettling. |
No kidding, Osanna signed back. Hopefully we can keep it that way.
It didn't take long for Ed to return, and when he did he looked rather disgruntled. And he had a guest with him. "Come on, Al," he said, motioning for his brother to move out of the way. Mustang had agreed to find somewhere for these people to stay after he'd met them. |
"Right," Al said, going over to stand with his brother.
Naomi looked over at the two in the doorway and shifted into a slightly easier position to stand up from, although she didn't get to her feet immediately. Kurama, on the other hand, did get up. Although he didn't think anything was going to happen, he didn't want to be caught off-guard, just in case. Roy Mustang looked at the seemingly-mismatched group. "When you told me about them, Fullmetal, I didn't expect them to be kids," he said. He glanced at Ed. "Although, knowing your habit of helping strays, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised." |
Osanna got up as well, kinda pressing herself back against the wall. She wasn't scared, per se, but very wary. She was rather paranoid now, after all this dimension skipping.
Ed grumped. "I didn't volunteer for this," he muttered. "They came with me." He glared weakly at Mustang, crossing his arms over his chest. But oh well. |
