Al sighed and stepped in.

"They helped us when we were lost," he said. "We thought it was only right to return the favor."

Once Osanna got up, Naomi did as well, although she didn't move away from the wall, or from her friend. She had no idea who the new person was, but she got the feeling that that would change soon.

Mustang snorted. "How like you," he said, chuckling. "Alright, I'll see what I can do. Go find something to amuse yourselves with for a while." He made shooing motions with his hands.

Osanna's eyes narrowed just a little. She got the feeling that this Mustang person needed his ego brought down a few notches.

Oh, he was definitely going to get on Naomi's nerves. Her eyes narrowed a bit, and the blue stripe in her hair got marginally wider.

"Who are you, anyways?" she asked. "Where do you get off being so goddamn condescending?" Okay, so maybe that wasn't the best thing to say, but this guy seemed to have a massive superiority complex and that just didn't sit well with her at all.

Mustang raised an eyebrow.

"Fullmetal didn't mention me?" he asked, glancing at Ed as he did.

"You never came up," Ed snarked back. "Besides, it's not like I thought they'd be coming here." He glanced over at the rest of the group, realising that sounded a little rude. "Not that I blame you."

Osanna nodded, though her attention was mostly on Mustang. She wanted to bring him down a few notches...

"Well, as much as I'd love to correct that unfortunate oversight, it appears I have housing to arrange," Mustang said. "I suggest you all go and stay out of trouble for a while." He turned to leave, and then stopped and glanced at Ed. "And Fullmetal... If I were you, I would check in with Miss Rockbell. She's been wondering where you've been."

Naomi almost gaped. She hadn't thought anyone could sound quite that arrogant, but there it was. She just wanted to punch the guy. A thin, nearly unnoticeable fuzz of frost formed around her feet, and she forced herself to calm down. The blue stripe in her hair shrank back to its normal width, and the frost disappeared.

Osanna stared after the guy when he left. What a dick! Almost without her consciously thinking about it, she had a vine grow from a potted plant, getting directly in the way so as to trip Mustang.

Ed stared for a moment when he saw the high and mighty Mustang fall flat on his face in the middle of the hallway for no apparent reason. And then he started laughing.

Naomi wasn't able to cover a snort, which quickly grew into full-on laughter. That was just priceless. She glanced at Osanna, because she just KNEW her friend was behind that little trick.

Kurama couldn't help but laugh a bit as well. He knew very well Osanna was behind it, but really, this man deserved it.

Osanna just grinned, a little bit smug. Hey, she was allowed. That hadn't been easy. Plants here were not easy to manipulate.

Ed managed to stop snickering and motioned for them all to follow him. "Come on, let's get going." He wasn't exactly looking forward to seeing Winfrey but it would be nice to be home for a while.

Al nodded and followed his brother.

Naomi figured Osanna had every right to be smug after that. She grinned back, and then followed Ed and Al out the door again. She kind of wanted to explore now and see what this new world was like. She already knew, from talking to Ed and Al, that there were no demons at all in this world, but they had that alchemy thing instead, so she figured it was a decent trade.

Kurama let the girls go first out the door, and then followed. He would admit, he was curious about the area, and he wouldn't mind exploring for a while.

Ed led the way outside and then looked back at them. They kinda stuck out. A lot. Hmm...

"Alright," he said. "I'm going to get tickets for us. You all just stay here."

Osanna blinked. He was kind of bossy. Oh well. She stayed with the group, watching Ed march off to get their tickets.

Hiei snorted, tempted to just wander off and find them later. It wouldn't be hard, after all.

Naomi blinked as well. Tickets? Tickets for what? She opened her mouth to ask, but Ed had already walked off again and she didn't want to keep bombarding Al with questions. She figured she'd find out soon enough. She glanced around. Most of the people native to the world were wearing coats and longer clothes. She was perfectly comfortable in her lighter clothes, but she had to admit that the group kind of stuck out, dressed the way they were.

Kurama noticed the looks they were getting and did his best to ignore them. He especially worked on ignoring stares he got from women; it wasn't something he could help, but he didn't really like it anyways.

It didn't take long for Ed to return, and he started herding everyone towards the train. "Train'll be leaving any minute," he said, still herding them along. "Get on."

Osanna blinked but followed his direction, moving to the train and getting on when she was half-pushed up onto the train. She managed to move down to an empty area, taking a seat next to the window. Hiei glared at Ed and Al both but got on the train (mostly because Yusuke was 'encouraging' him).

Naomi blinked as well. Train? What? She didn't get the chance to ask, though, since Al shooed her onto the train. Getting on, she went and sat down next to Osanna.

"Trains? Really?" she said in a low voice to her friend. "I don't remember the last time I even saw a train, let alone got ON one..." She paused. "No, wait, there was a train that took me from the city to the specialty school, but that was a special case." She didn't remember ever seeing a train in her everyday life.

Kurama made sure Hiei was in a seat before sitting down himself; this was one of those times where Hiei needed constant supervision. If Kurama didn't keep an eye on him, Hiei was liable to disappear on his own.

Ed plopped himself down across the aisle from the others, sitting with Al. At least they'd gotten on the train... now all he had to do was corral them to Winfrey's house and hope she didn't have a conniption fit.

Osanna shook her head. I know, she agreed. I don't think I've ever seen a train, except maybe once or twice... She was kind of excited, though, honestly.

Once the train got moving, Naomi looked around. The train was full, which told her that this was definitely a regular thing. She looked over at the Elrics.

"So... I'm guessing you all don't have planes here, then," she said.

Ed frowned at her. "Planes? What are you talking about?" He exchanged mystified looks with Al.

Osanna couldn't help but grin and shake her head. Oh this would be fun.

Al blinked and looked at his brother. He had no idea what Naomi was talking about, either.

Naomi blinked. Well. That answered that question. After a second or two, she grinned as well.

"Flying machines," she said. "Mass transportation." She paused there, letting that sink in to their minds.

Ed thought about it for a moment before he shook his head, not even thinking about it. "Nah."

Osanna shook her head and watched as they left the city. Then she got more excited when they got into the countryside.

Naomi shrugged.

"If we ever get back, I'll show you," she said. Settling back in her seat, she looked out the window as well. She could tell they were getting out into the boonies, now. She wasn't used to being out in the actual country. The suburbs were as far out as she usually got.

Ed still looked skeptical but he settled back to relax for the duration of the ride. When the train stopped, he herded everyone else off.

Osanna immediately went over to the tree near the station, climbing up more swiftly than should have been possible to take a look around. She was positively delighted.

Naomi looked around as she got off the train.

"This feels a little like the middle of nowhere," she commented. "It's kind of relaxing, though."

Kurama stretched a bit as he got off the train, going over to the tree that Osanna had climbed. He opened his mouth to ask if she could see anything interesting, but closed it again. It would have been a stupid question, since she wouldn't be able to answer.

Ed nodded. "Winfrey lives over there," he said, pointing to the house. "Come on, Al." He looked a little more relaxed as he headed for the house.

Osanna looked down at him and grinned brightly, sliding down the tree again. She loved being out in the country.

Kurama completely understood. He could imagine that the city didn't quite agree with her. He felt the same way, more often than not.

"So... where are we?" Naomi asked, catching up to the brothers.

"Risembool," Al replied.

"Okay." She had no idea what Risembool was, but she figured they were there for a reason.

Ed headed up to the house and knocked on the door. He still wasn't comfortable with just walking in, even if they had said he could. He waited, rather impatiently, to be let in.

Osanna grinned at him and started to follow the others, much more relaxed.

The door opened after a moment or so to reveal Pinako standing there. She blinked when she saw so many people, but she recovered quickly.

"I'm surprised, Edward, you actually have friends with you," she said warmly, with a hint of humor. Then she gave a wicked grin. "I wasn't sure you had any."
