"You shouldn't have gotten so close, then," Naomi said, standing up and picking up the book. A split-second decision had her scooping up a handful of the snow, packing it into a loose ball, and throwing it at him. Yes, it was childish, but being in the snow tended to do that to her. Snow pleased her.

The snow hit Hiei dead on, and he didn't move. It slid down his chest a little before it suddenly melted and slipped off in one plop, the snow at his feet starting to melt a little as well.

Naomi bit her lip slightly to hold back her snickers even as she took a couple of steps back, away from the growing ring of melt.

"I'm sorry," she managed. "I couldn't resist." She grinned a bit. "Last winter at home was too mild, we didn't get much snow and none of it was like this."

"Hn." Hiei looked at her before he scanned the area again. "I suggest you figure out where we are so we can pick up your friend and get back to my world."

Because, even though he'd never admit it, world-hopping was rather unsettling.

Naomi glanced around for a moment. Things looked almost familiar... There. She could see the spot where she and Osanna had originally landed, in the park. And if this was anything like then, she might be able to poke some of the fairies into giving them a guide.

Now to find said fairies.

Hiei blinked when he noticed movement in the trees, raising his eyebrows. The hell were those things? Giant bugs, or something?

Except then one of the fairies buzzed up to Naomi. "Whatcha doing here again?"

Hiei swore under his breath, tensing. What the hell?!

"Just a little turned around," Naomi replied to the fairy. She recognized it as the one from before, but now it had purple face paint all over one side of its face. "Trying to get back to Harry's place, my friend is still there."

"Whatcha want with the wizard?" The fairy started floating back along towards Harry's house anyway. Hey, might as well. She could chat with the weird not-human while she directed them. But she didn't even try with Hiei.

"One of my friends is with him, I just wanted to go and find her," Naomi replied. "Maybe you remember her? The part-fox girl?" As they walked, she kept an eye on Hiei in her peripheral vision. There was no way she wanted to lose track of him in the city, she'd never find him again.

"Yeah! We saw her a little bit ago. She was out with the Fuu dog." The fairy beamed, absently weaving around a few birds brave enough to try navigating the city.

"Could you lead us to her?" Naomi asked carefully. She was still holding the book, after all, and was trying not to give it any sort of excuse to toss her around again.

"Sure." The fairy changed direction, just a little, and sped up. "Why're you lookin' for her? Thought you two stayed together?" At least that was the vague impression the fairies had gotten during the girls' first trip around.

"We did," Naomi replied as she followed the fairy. She kept an eye on Hiei as she did. "But she decided she wanted to stay here for a bit while I went somewhere else, and now it's time for me to find her again."

The fairy nodded a few times. "I see, I see." The fairy grinned suddenly. "And what about the new guy? He's surly. What's he doing with you?"

"None of your business," Hiei growled, proving that yes, he could indeed hear their entire conversation.

"He's here with me for the moment," Naomi replied. She grinned impishly at the fairy. "Ignore him, he's like that to everyone." She give Hiei a bit of a sideways glance and brushed his youki with her own, almost teasingly.

Hiei made a grumping noise but he didn't retaliate, so he knew that she was just teasing. Which was good, because otherwise he could have gotten really rather upset.

The fairy laughed and moved down a street. "Not far now."

"Alright, thanks," Naomi said. There was silence for a moment, save for the buzzing sound of the fairy's wings. "How did you find us so fast, anyways?" she asked. "I wasn't even sure where to start looking for you all, and then you're just suddenly there."

"We know who's in our park," the fairy said. "Besides, I don't know anyone else who simply pops in as you did. We do notice those things."

Hiei almost snorted, but then thought better of it. Even so, the little fairy was somewhat amusing.

"The popping in and out isn't technically my fault, but fair enough," Naomi replied. She glanced around as their surroundings became a bit more unfamiliar. "Where are we headed, anyways?"

"The wizard's friends." The fairy stopped a short ways from the Carpenter house, where all the children had gathered for one of their epic snowball fights. "There they are."

Osanna was holding her own, sort of. Since she was using Mouse as a shield and throwing snowballs at whoever she could find, she figured she was doing just fine.

Naomi raised an eyebrow when she saw the epic snow battle.

"Thanks," she said to the fairy. Then she turned and flared her youki a little, just enough for Osanna to feel it. She grinned. A snowball fight was her kind of party.

Osanna felt and promptly scrambed off to the side, well away from the danger zone. Yea, now it was really going to turn into a war zone. She grinned briefly, looking forward to seeing what Naomi planned to do.

Leaning down, Naomi scooped up a handful of snow, carefully molding it into a perfectly-shaped snowball. It almost seemed a shame to have to throw it, but really, it was begging to be used to kick off a snow war. Carefully, she extended her youki a bit and then pulled her arm back. She let the snowball fly, and flipped a flurry of snow into the air at the same time; the snowball smacked Harry in the back of the head and the sudden snow-flurry blanketed the rest. She grinned and jogged over to Osanna.

"Hey," she said brightly. There wasn't a flake of snow on her. "Mind if I join?"

Osanna took one look at the group, all of whom nodded to one another and started gathering snow, looking over at Naomi.

Yes, actually. I'm not on your side with this one. Osanna grinned and scrambled away, up into the relative safety of a tree.

Naomi snorted.

"I don't need allies in a simple snowball fight," she said, grinning. She paused when a man leaning on a cane came out of the house. "Um... hi? I'm a friend of Harry's."
