Osanna grinned. He can't tell what I'm saying so he'll never know. If she could sing-song sign language, she did. She shifted to get a little more comfortable, grinning up at him.

"Fortunately," Kurama agreed, a little teasingly. It was easy to be relaxed and teasing around Osanna, and Kurama found that he enjoyed the change from the way he spent the rest of his time.

Osanna grinned and stretched a little, settling down again. What do you do most of the time? She found herself rather curious. He came and went more than the others, she'd noticed, and she was curious. Besides, she figured she might as well ask.

"I have a few things I do here in the Ningenkai," Kurama replied. "University classes, mostly. It makes Mother happy to see her son continuing his education." He watched her expression as he spoke, waiting for the moment her curiosity got the better of her. He knew she would ask for more information eventually.

Osanna blinked, trying to puzzle that one out. He was a full-blooded youkai, but he had a human mother? How did that work?

Do you mind explaining or should I not ask? She looked at him carefully, not wanting to upset him or anything.

"It's all rather complicated," Kurama admitted. "However, if you want to listen, I can explain." And it really was a convoluted tale, all things considered. But he wouldn't mind telling Osanna about it, if she was interested.

Osanna nodded, sitting up and watching him with big eyes. Because apparently it was story time at the kiddy table now.

Kurama chuckled slightly at her reaction and started at the relative beginning of his story. He didn't mind telling her about it, really, and she clearly liked learning new things, so he would tell her.

Osanna listened carefully to the whole story, her head tilted slightly to the side. It was a little odd, but she believed it, so she didn't bother questioning the validity of the story.

So she doesn't know? she asked when he'd stopped talking.

"I haven't told her, no," Kurama replied. As always, he felt a little guilty for keeping such a secret from Shiori, but it really was the lesser of two evils, as far as he was concerned. She was better off not knowing.

Osanna nodded instead of pressing the issue, flopping back in the grass again. Someday maybe you'll meet my grandfather. He's a very interesting person. He's also kind of scary.

"If I recall," Kurama said, "your grandfather stopped by while were stuck in your world." He definitely remembered that. It was the only time he had met a blood fox face-to-face. "He and Naomi seemed to be at odds."

Osanna made a face. He doesn't like her very much, and she doesn't like him. They just never got along. He also doesn't think she's good company for me, for whatever reason. His other kids don't like me very much, and I know I couldn't stay with him even if I wanted to, so I really don't know what he's complaining about.

"The important thing is that you have a home," Kurama replied. "I'm sure the visits are nice, but I doubt you would want to deal with them all the time." Even he'd grown fond of his independence once he'd moved away from 'home.' He visited Shiori frequently, but he didn't live there anymore.

Osanna nodded. It is nice when he visits, but I'm always kinda relieved when he's gone. He's very... She made vague large motions with her hands, unable to settle on the right word.

Kurama nodded. He understood what she was trying to convey.

Osanna huffed and flopped over again. The grass was comfy, the sun was just warm enough, and it was a good day. She could be lazy all she wanted.

So what are you planning to do for the rest of your life? Finish school, get a job, and be normal?

"I don't think it's possible to be 'normal,'" Kurama replied. "Of course, I'll finish school, if only to keep up appearances, but another job would make things complicated." He looked at her. "What about you?"

Osanna shrugged. Before I would have simply assumed more of the same, for as long as I live. We don't know if I'll have a more human lifespan or not. Now, though... She trailed off. She hadn't thought much about what she'd do now. Travel between the worlds, maybe? Study the plants of the other worlds? She shrugged again. She really didn't know.

"I'm sure you have plenty of time to figure it out," Kurama assured her. He leaned back on his hands a bit, content to enjoy her company.

Osanna nodded and shifted, moving a little closer to him. His youki was close enough to her own that it was relaxing, and she closed her eyes with a happy little sigh. This was almost better than relaxing in her own garden.

Kurama sat there with her for a little while longer, until he felt two others arrive at the temple. He immediately and unconsciously recognized one as Hiei, which meant that the more unfamiliar one with him had to be Naomi.

"Your friend is back," he said softly to Osanna.

Osanna nodded. Cool. Shall we go see how the trip went? She started pushing herself upright, curious to go see where the two actually went.

Hiei was quiet as they arrived again. He glanced at Naomi, raising an eyebrow a little.

Kurama nodded and stood as well.

"Lead the way," he said, gesturing in the direction of the other two.

Naomi blinked, and raised an eyebrow in return.

"What?" she asked.

Osanna nodded and bounced off towards the two, still clearly in a good mood.

"I assume that was satisfactory." She seemed happy enough, which he presumed meant she had a nice time. Not that he'd care, normally, but it also effected Yukina.
