Star Ocean: A New Beginning

They never could have known the burden to fall on them... Those children.... Their original mission had been only to explore planets for colonization- to ensure the survival of their race.... But the wheels of fate turned, and what started out so simple turned into a race to save the universe from a terrible fate known as the Grigori- a group of beings who sought to absorb all life into one supreme existence.

Many died. And although the crisis was kept hidden from the general public, the severe losses of those who fought bravely were never forgotten by those who knew.... Even as the years passed and life went on.

With their new military status, Reimi and Edge continued exploring the universe in the new Calnus, searching the worlds for suitable environments for colonization. Every once in awhile they'd return to the familiar planet of Roak where many of their friends resided; their childhood friend Crowe Almedio also settled down there with the witty and charismatic fortune teller Elayna.
Edge and Reimi would also visit Lemuris on occasion, where much of the Eldarian race had given up their technology and now resided; Faize was among them, and he and Lymle still argued constantly. Arumat meanwhile, was among the Eldarians who hadn't given up their technology and continued to live in space, there he was hailed as the war hero he wanted to be. Edge and Reimi made an effort to visit him too every once in awhile, but he was generally out fighting somewhere.
They even made an effort to visit EN II to see myuria and check up on how Bauchus was doing; he'd returned to his normal body to be with his wife, who turned out to be a very wonderful woman- a bit of a needfreak, but every bit as wonderful as Bauchus had described.

Everyone was busy living out their lives, be it on a mission or on a planet... And it was peaceful..... Happy.....

But while the heroes were out living their lives, a new danger was growing.... One far more dangerous and powerful than they'd every seen.....
