Phones~

What kind of phone do you have?
Do you have just a cellphone, or a cellphone and a home phone?
Do you have more than one cellphone?
What's the oldest type of phone you've used?

--
I only have a cellphone; the iPhone 3GS and I like it.
The oldest phone I've used is a rotary dial phone.
Ours looked like this:

But with the numbers and letters on the inside of the circles.

Ring ring~

BRICK PHONE. > . >

-affections on-

Anyways, I have a Lg zenon. Pretty little thing, it's a touch phone and a slide keyboard.
I butt dial a lot of people though cause of the touch screen, so every time I put it in my pocket I have to turn it off.
Oh, one time my friend didn't save my number but I kept butt dialing him..but I didn't notice until it said something like
"you've been on the phone for 10 minutes" type of thing. And he left me a voice message one day...
"Who ever this is! I don't know who you are but stop calling me! I'm going to call the cops!"
It was pretty funny :x
here's the menace :

And the oldest phone, I've used was something like this but it had a red bell on top when it rang:

My mom still keeps around old hotel phones like that. So, when she found out about wireless phones..she went on a rampage throughout target. xD

Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa 04-28-2011 10:17 PM

Oooh~ That is a pretty phone. I had a Blackberry, but it was too business-like and then one of the HTCs, which is kind of similar to yours, but it was a pain. I didn't want the iPhone at first because it was just touchscreen, but I've found that I rather like it. :D

Elluh 04-28-2011 10:20 PM

I had a blackberry too, it was a blackberry pearl. I loved it but it died in some corn flakes.
Ehh, not a big fan of the htc's..they're too complex. My friend is going to give me her iphone when she's the 5g.

Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa 04-28-2011 10:49 PM

I forgot which one mine was. I lost it in a manta ray tank.
I really wanted to like the HTC I had, but it just wasn't working for me. I'm waiting to see what the new iPhone is going to look like/feature.

I have a Motorola Karma, and it's a refurbished cellphone. :S

I have both a cellphone and a home phone. I still like having a LAN line. :)

Nope. I only have one cell phone. ^_^ I sometimes use my great aunt's cell, but it is just like mine. :-/

I believe it was a yellow touch tune telephone. Phone can be found here (That is just a picture of it, I did not take that picture).

Other than that, I don't remember the oldest phone I ever used. :S

Larxene 04-29-2011 02:06 AM

I have both a home phone set and a cell phone. I only use the cell phone when I really need to though, I don't use it to chat people up for "just because".

Codette 04-29-2011 02:27 AM

my house still has a lan line
this is the closest I can findhttp://s3.thisnext.com/media/largest...n/8AD16D00.jpg
Although if anyone wants to get a hold of me they use my cell. I never call anyone but I have unlimited text in my plan so I'm always texting.

To be honest until I got a job as a receptionist I was terrified of answering phones..

btw: this is my cell.http://www.gitmobile.com/wp-content/...-vice-bell.jpgIt's the Samsung Vice in black.... except mine is covered in scratches.

xRhii 04-29-2011 02:40 AM

I have a black Keybo 2 for a cell phone, I love it dearly. The inside keyboard makes my like so much easier when I'm texting. At home I have one of the family set of Uniden Dect 6.0 cordless phones in my room.

Arkkath 04-29-2011 04:33 AM

Well considering I am still living at home at the moment, I have both.
My cell is a Samsung Hype. It's meh, nothing really special about it, but it's not bad.
Over a year and a half ago, a week after I got it, I got a crack across the screen. It's been slowly getting bigger, but the screen still works perfectly fine.
I'm think about getting an Android though.

Kaizy-Kat 04-29-2011 04:12 PM

I don't remember the exact model of cellphone I have. All I remember is that it's a Samsung and it's a touch screen. It's a decent phone, except that it doesn't get any signal at my school and it always pocket dials.

My dad has an iPhone 4 that he's going to give me when I go to college because it's more dependable than the one I have. I covet the HTC Evo. My friend has it and it's beautiful.

NeuzaKC 04-29-2011 04:53 PM

I have a cellphone, we don't have home phone anymore. And my dear cellphone is a Sony Ericsson iV630. That's right, I still use an oldie! It was my father's cellphone for years, it's been in our ownership for about seven years, maybe... I can't tell, my math sucks. It looks like this:

http://www.alexokazion.com/product_i...17699_zoom.jpg

Except the "Vodafone" text on the back is almost completely gone because I sweat a lot, and text a lot, so the two combined... Yeah. XD The oldest phone I've used kinda looks like those first two, only even older and the numbers were inside. It belonged to my grandmother, but in the mean time she got all tech so now she owns three cellphones. Mine still works perfectly apart from turning itself off and on occasionally, but that's the card's fault as it's old and the stores say that will happen until I get a new card.

Projectwolfie 04-29-2011 05:07 PM

My tracfone was used by the ancient myans. Seriously, this thing was purchased sometime in the 90s. And it still works like a charm. They sure don't make phones how they used to. XD

Our home phone is the primary though, I use my cell for texting and calling when the power's out or I'm away and that's about it.

Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa 04-29-2011 06:12 PM

I'm honestly really surprised that so many people still have home phones.
Though I understand if you've had them for so long you might not see a reason to get rid of it.

Arkkath 04-29-2011 06:52 PM

Whenever I happen to finally end up moving out on my own, I probably won't bother with having a home phone and instead just get a good plan for a cell or something.
I mean, what's the point of paying for both when you don't have a need for both lol.

Jeanie 04-29-2011 07:55 PM

I have a mobile and we have a land line at home too. We just have cordless ones it's easier. Don't use the home phone much though.

At the moment I'm alternating between two phones. I get bored easily.
I'm using the Orange Amsterdam http://www.vodafone-mobilephones.com...-amsterdam.jpg and Alcatel OT808 http://hotcellularphone.com/wp-conte...l-OT-808-2.jpg

Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa 04-29-2011 09:42 PM

@Ark: Yeah that's the reason we don't have one. When we got our first house, we didn't get it at first because we didn't need, but after a while we just decided on having one. But after paying for it for a while and not using it we decided to just cancel it. And after 2 more moves, we didn't bother with anymore.
We almost had to get one in our new because we wanted a security system, but a lot of places required you to have a landline.
Luckily we found one that didn't.

@Jean: Aah~ The Alcatel is so cute!

angelbabe1 04-29-2011 10:19 PM

I dont know the oldestphone I've used, but I have a samsung intensity 2 cell phone and I only have one.

carzeemumbear 04-30-2011 05:03 AM

Wow, you guys have flash phones. I have a cell phone and a land line, everyone in the family has a cell and we text each other when we're out. Land line in NZ is free calling for local areas and cell charges are WAY too high. Where I work we don't even get reception unless we stand in the car park. People who live in the town have to find spots in their homes that get reception (e.g.the bathroom windowsill) and all leave their phone in that spot.
When I was a teenager we had a dial phone attached to the wall. If I needed to have a personal conversation I would have to sit in the hallway and glare at anyone walking past, or stretch the phone cord to my bedroom and sit on the floor squished up to the door. Anyone walking past then would have to duck under the curly wire bit. Hooray for cordless phones. I remember being excited when our friend got a phone with buttons instead of a dial!!! :D

Stormrose Dewleaf 04-30-2011 11:28 AM

The oldest phone I've ever used was a rotary phone. Pretty close to this, except the very center was different and it was a beige, tan-ish sort of colour.

http://www.mishalulu.com/blog/wp-con...tary_phone.jpg

I didn't even get a cell phone until I was 18. I took my Christmas money and bought a 10$ Tracfone. It served me well for about two years when it finally started giving out, and this past September I finally got a real wireless plan and the Blackberry Torch. It's only been almost eight months, but I'm going to get a new one soon. -.-;; That's just because I plan on switching providers to save money. I'm thinking an Android; I just don't know which one yet.

I text and go online on my cell all the time, but I use my land line for actual talking most of the time. I say most of the time even though it's only one person, because I don't talk on the phone much but with her we can be on the phone anywhere from two to six hours. o_O I don't think we'll ever get rid of of the land line. We live in the middle of nowhere, our cell minutes aren't unlimited, and service isn't always the greatest. Relying on cell phones alone would be a bit risky.

Jeanie 04-30-2011 01:58 PM

It looks just like a compact mirror. It's less purple and more pink though.

Liztress 04-30-2011 02:36 PM

Currently, I just have a house phone. I would count my cell phone but it's a pre-paid and I haven't put no minutes on it lately.

This is the closest to the oldest phone I have ever used. Pretty, right?

This is the cell phone that I have (and need to add money to). It's a Sanyo Juno in pink. Very girly.

Estrella 04-30-2011 04:23 PM

Liz has the exact same phone as my aunt. xD

I have a Samsung Rant. And I freaking love it. It's a little beast! I've had it for over two years and I've dropped it at least once a day and it's still freaking working! I may need to get a new one soon because I am pretty sure it's on its last leg. :( It makes me totally sad 'cause I was looking through the Sprint store and none of the others really appeal to me. They all look so frail in comparison. xD

http://www.kensfi.com/wp-content/upl...t-cellular.jpg

That's pretty much my phone. Except mine has a few chips out of the screen and the slider is wonky now. Poor thing takes so much abuse. The screen lags a bit, too, when I switch from the keyboard. I'm hoping I can just get the same phone when I replace mine but since it's been so long I doubt they even sell it anymore.

If I get a new phone, I was looking at this one:

http://www.wirelessprocurement.com/s...%202%20-01.jpg

Maybe. The reviews on it are mixed.

I haven't had a house phone in years and couldn't tell you what the oldest one I had looked like.

Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa 04-30-2011 04:36 PM

@Liz: Those phones are kind of similar. And very pretty. x3

@Est: That phone looks nifty! :D I like how the front is smooth~

Draciolus 04-30-2011 05:21 PM

I have an HTC Desire:

I also have two LAN Lines at home. One for regular use, and one that my dad needed when he worked from home.

The oldest phone I have used is one of these:

Except, ours is black, and still works.
