Raising an eyebrow, he nodded slightly in reluctant agreement. “Unfortunately that is true, unless the child is willing to go completely against their parents, they have no choice but to follow the rules and decisions set down by their parents.” He grimaced slightly, clearly showing his dislike and distaste at this fact.
Looking surprised at Matthias’ snickering, he himself started to laugh quietly, easily falling into the mock rehearsal, although he struggled to keep a straight face. “Well, whoever marries you will be a lucky man” He smiled softly before shrugging. “And who says we have to be past our primes? Many people age very well, you never have to be past your prime!” He chuckled softly before falling still, starting to look more serious. “But you know...You may regret never telling them...Plus, perhaps in their old age they may be more willing to accept your decision” He murmured quietly. Smirking lightly, he nodded in agreement at the comment about the children he taught. “Sometimes I do to, but those feelings tend to vanish when they start driving me crazy and misbehaving” He joked before nodding in agreement. “As I said, I’d be happy to give you the odd bit of help now and then...Though I’m sure your niece and nephew have never snuck out of the house to go to an illegal party, or smoke on a regular basis.” Pausing he nodded slightly. “Make sure they never start smoking, that is one of the biggest mistakes of my life” Sage chuckled faintly. |
"That depends." Matthias gave a little shrug, "Will he still want me even if I decide to throw everything I have away?" The male hummed and tilted his head off to the other side. Without this job, he'd pretty much be rendered useless. The thought of being a bum for a few months before he come crawling back to his parents on his knees or for years until his parents would ask him to come back sounded awfully pleasing. He wondered if that was possible.
First, he needed to find a lover. Heh. Easier said than done. Pulling his arms forward and resting his forearms on his thighs, he thought about what Sage was saying and nodded. Perhaps. Perhaps, he'd be regretting never telling them should he be finding a lover but they really haven't given much of a thought of his life. What they took notice of was his accomplishments. Did they love him for him or for what he does? Matthias snorted when he'd heard the words 'smoking' and 'biggest mistakes'. True, it wasn't easy to stop smoking but because of the social parties he's forced to attend to, he needed to learn how to smoke. "It's not that bad if you know how to control. You smoke?" |
He raised an eyebrow at this before letting out a soft, disapproving growl. “Anyone who’s with you just because of your wealth and job isn’t any better than the scum and mud on the bottom of a shoe! You would deserve someone much better than that!” He stated before smiling softly to Matthias, lightly rubbing the other’s shoulder in a comforting way.
At the other’s reaction to his smoking comment, he grinned faintly. “I used to, used to be an awful smoker, at least three packets a day, normally more. I quit though, when I found out Sofia was pregnant. It was...Certainly an interesting experience...I don’t think I’ve ever been that bad tempered before in my life, I almost feel bad for everyone around me who had to put up with the withdrawal symptoms” He chuckled faintly, lightly tugging a strand of his hair in thought. “I’m glad I quit though, and I’ll never go back...When I realised just how dependant I was on the stuff, it was one of the worst revelations I’ve ever had” He grimaced at the memory before shrugging. “What about you? Any bad habits like that? Or are you squeaky clean?” He teased softly. |
Matthias didn't know why but the way Sage was angry for him made him chuckle in amusement and it was indeed, comforting to be feeling that light rub on his shoulder. "You sound like an older sibling. How old were you again?" There was that obvious teasing tone in his voice as he grinned and he whistled at the others' reply to his question. He didn't think he'd be meeting a chain smoker back in his days. "What got you into it?"
Putting his phone down on the table, he rested his elbows on his knees and loosely clasped his hands together. Matthias snorted again at that teasing question and shook his head. "I would've been if smoking and drinking alcohol isn't one of the requirement to socialize." The man gave a thoughtful pause and smiled. "But I only smoke when I need to and drink alcohol during business parties. My addiction to hot chocolate with lots of milk in the evenings, though, before I go to bed even in the wee hours of the morning could be counted as a bad habit." He looked back at Sage and reached out to pat the other's back. "Guess I just have more control in smoking then you do." |
Doing a mock pout, he folded his arms over his chest with a raised eyebrow. “I’m twenty five for your information!” He grumbled, leaning back into the sofa. At the other’s whistle, Sage grimaced again before chuckling, looking a little sheepish. “Not sure to be honest...I think some friends offered it to me...I’d never seen it before and had no idea what a cigarette was, so I tried it. Unlike most people’s first try, mine was fairly nice so I just kept going” He shrugged again nonchalantly. “It was a nasty habit, I know”
Glancing sideways to Matthias again, he smiled faintly, the grin widening slightly as his teasing question was answered. “I suppose your hot chocolate addiction could certainly be counted a bad habit, it’s hardly healthy for you” He teased lightly, pulling a slight face at the idea though. “I can only stand dark chocolate though, I find milk or white chocolate too sweet.” At the touch on his back, Sage glanced to Matthias in surprise before he laughed quietly. “I guess you do, one of the lucky people you are” He smiled lightly, poking the other’s shoulder as he spoke. |
Matthias made a face. "Well, talk about young all right. You're far more experienced than I am." Not that he was close-minded about it. It just amused him how someone younger than him can be berating or telling him off like this. "But honestly, you sound like you're in your early thirties." The man found himself laughing after he'd said that and leaned back again. A rather contented smile was on his lips. It was, indeed, comforting talking to Sage. This was, perhaps, the first time in years he's actually talked so randomly with someone else.
Johnny and his conversations would've been great if his secretary isn't so uptight about reminding him of deadlines. Work was work. When he was in his room, conversations shouldn't be about work. Seriously! He could take a break from that. "And, remind me to have you try one of our products. It's supposedly real sweet but when you drink it, it tastes bland." There was a thoughtful look on his face as he grinned again and rubbed at the part where the other had poked him. "Oh, and if I can't find any hot chocolate to drink, I drink coffee before I sleep. Oddly, it doesn't make me more awake. It makes me sleep well." |
Now Claus was biting his lip again, shifting around a bit. Well...he honestly wasn't sure about what to do. Going to the party would be the more sensible thing, as it included all of Claus's friends, too. But...he also didn't want to abandon Eroke...he wanted to be with the other male...so, again, he was clueless...

Laughing at this he shook his head slightly. “I like to live life while I can, though I have to say I’ve certainly calmed down a lot since my teenage years” He chuckled softly. “You could almost say I’m boring now.” At Matthias’ comment about how old he sounded, he pulled a face, grimacing and shaking his head once more. “I’m not sure if I should take that as a compliment or an insult” Sage teased softly, stretching a little as he settled back into the couch.
As he listened to the other’s words, he raised an eyebrow slightly before letting out a soft whistle and laugh. “Just how many things are you involved in in the business world? You sound like you run god knows how many companies!” He smirked faintly, tilting his head back to rest it on the couch back, closing his eyes thoughtfully. At his comment about the coffee, Sage opened his eyes to roll them, smirking faintly to the other. “Oh, you don’t say! Because caffeine isn’t solely for the purpose of keeping people awake” He answered in a sarcastic tone, laughing at the same time. “How about milk? I was told that makes people go to sleep more easily if they drink warm milk before going to bed” |
"Take it however you want it but you really sound so... old. Much older than my old man or Johnny for that matter. And, you do sound boring." Matthias wasn't able to hold himself back from saying the last sentence. Of course, he'd added a rather playful tone to that.
Matthias grinned. "Quite a lot." And, he wasn't boasting. It was out of hardwork. A big company of his father's, which he'd even made bigger. It wouldn't be a surprise at all if everyone knew about his father's company when asked if they knew it. Grunting at the other's next words and pushing the other lightly, he crossed his arms over his chest and thought about drinking milk. "Wouldn't it be boring?" he asked, "Just drinking milk, I mean." "Oh, and you want to nap? You can use my bedroom. I might be heading out in a few minutes to see if the food's arrived, though." |
Eyes widening he looked astounded at the other for a moment before poking his chest again, glowering back at him. “Well I’ll definitely be taking that as an insult. Besides, aren’t you older than me?” He demanded before chuckling softly. “I can’t be that boring though, or you wouldn’t still be talking to me” Sage pointed out with a faint smirk.
Grinning a little at Matthias’ comment on how many businesses he owned, he shook his head slightly. “Should I be bowing in awe at your clearly amazing business skills?” Sage questioned with a teasing grin, twisting to give a mock bow to the other. When he was pushed, he laughed slightly, raising both hands in a ‘surrender’ position before lowering them once more into his lap, his empty cup on the table now. “I suppose it would be, but if it works then isn’t it worth a try?” He pointed out before pausing at Matthias’ offer. With a light blush, he shook his head quickly. “N-no it’s fine! I’m not too tired” He smiled softly to Matthias. |

That was true. Sage had a point. He wouldn't be talking to Sage so long like this if he were boring. But, it wasn't him who pointed it out. "Then, why'd you say you were boring in the first place?" he asked with a face, "Was that to throw me off guard and lower my defenses against you so you could seduce me? You're a horrible man!" He gave a mock look of betrayal on his face and wrapped his arms around him. It was pretty hard to keep on the serious look, though, and he found himself bursting out laughing as he leaned against the arm of the couch.
"You sure? I don't mind. I rarely sleep on the bed. I usually fall asleep here." He gave the couch a little pat before he'd gotten back up to his feet to go and prepare himself a cold glass of tea. "And yes. You should praise me for being a great business man. It just means I've honed everything I've learned from school, teacher." [[ There we go. Changed. =D ]] |
He chuckled faintly before shrugging. “I meant in comparison to what I was like as a kid” He pointed out before blushing darkly again at Matthias’ look of betrayal and his words. Stammering a little, Sage struggled to answer him before giving up, laughing with the other and covering his face with one hand, shaking his head a little. “You’ve done more than your fair share of seducing, that makes you just as evil” He teased with a smirk.
Shrugging once more, Sage glanced around before watching Matthias get up, preparing himself something to drink. Rolling his eyes somewhat, he stood as well, picking up his own empty cup and taking it towards the kitchen, intending to wash it up. “My God! A child who actually learned and listened in school? Oh the horror! I can’t gaze directly at you or I may go blind” He answered jokingly, laughing at the same time. "And it's fine! I really don't need to sleep, you sound like a worrying mother, or brother." Pausing, he smirked faintly. "Now who's the older brother?" |
Matthias was speechless. He was at a loss of words. Well, not that he could retort anything when he was completely at fault. But, the others' reaction to his look of betrayal and somewhat childish antic not very long ago was priceless. It was completely priceless. At least, though, he got the man to laugh with him. "Oh? When was I seducing you?" he asked as he played the innocent victim while he looked over his shoulder at the other. There was obviously a glint of amusement sparkling in his eyes.
"And, is making sure you don't want to sleep making me sound like a worrying mother or brother?" he asked with a frown before he'd grunted, "Then, I won't bother asking again." Snickering, he got to finish his drink and leaned against the island counter to sip onto the drink. That was cold. Perfectly perfect in such a weather. It was strange that Matthias liked drinking cold things in cold seasons but that strange antic of his was what made him unique in one sense or two. "And, the hell can't you gaze directly at me?! Is my aura too bright for you, teacher?" |
He ended up blushing even darker again at Matthias’ ‘innocent’ expression and question. After a few seconds, he gave a frustrated noise, shaking his head and looking away, instead starting to wash up the cup in the sink, waiting for the water to heat up. “I give up, I clearly can’t win in this one” He chuckled faintly, shaking his head once more before raising an eyebrow at Matthias’ amusement in his expression when the other looked over to him.
Pausing at the other’s next words, he let out a light laugh, rolling his eyes once more. “Fine by me, though I may have to ask if I can stay and play with Roy a little, I haven’t met someone with a pet like him before” He chuckled quietly. Once the water was warm enough, he reached out for some soap, starting to put a little on the cup as he used a sponge to clean it from the tea stains. Glancing up at Matthias, he deliberately looked slightly to the side of him, blushing faintly at the other’s consistent use of ‘teacher’ rather than his name. “Far too bright! You’re blinding Matthias!” He laughed brightly before finally glancing back to look at him properly. “Though, I went blind a long time ago” He added in a joking tone, smirking cheekily at the other. |
Matthias snorted. "Of course. You can't win." Though he really isn't competitive by nature, it felt good winning over the other. It had him grinning behind his glass as he continued sipping his tea. The cold tea definitely was delicious. Just as he was about to start thinking more about the tea, he found himself blinking at the others' request and chuckled. "As long as you keep your clothes, the books and the papers away from him and..." He trailed off as he smiled. "Be quick on your feet if he's left on the floor to catch him."
Laughing along with the other at the 'blinding' statement, he shook his head and finished his tea to put it in the sink. "I wouldn't be the least surprised if that was because of the children you've been teaching." |
Alice was silent while Sho and Rio spoke about the party and what not. When Sho turned his attention to Alice, the white haired young man shrugged slightly. "..I have clothes.." Of course he had clothes to change into. He did live in that building. Still, Sho was just being concerned and concern didn't deserve rudeness. Alice licked his lips.
He looked miserable and he was starting to feel rather miserable. Another slight cough and he had shook his head. "...No medicine.." Unless band-aids and neosporin counted as medicine, which he was certain they didn't. Alice's thoughts drifted, if Sage saw him like this, what would he say? He would probably be just as concerned as Sho seemed to be. Alice looked at Sho and frowned slightly. Sho seemed nice enough, just as Sage had been, so..Maybe it wouldn't hurt to be friends with Sho as well. Besides, Sho hadn't tried picking him up a few times either. He glanced at Rio and shivered. |
He rolled his eyes, doing another mock pout before smirking lightly to Matthias. “For now, just you wait though! I’ll find a way to beat you” He joked, setting the cup on the side to dry and glancing around for something to dry his own hands with. When he finally found a dish towel, he pulled it close, carefully drying his hands then glancing back at Matthias. “Well I sincerely doubt he could do more than bite at my clothes a little, and I’m quite fast, your books and papers will be safe in my care” Pausing, he smirked lightly. “Although surely it would be better for you if you lost some of those papers? You could claim they never came through and not have to bother reading them.”
With a teasing grin, he took the other’s cup, starting to wash it up with a slight shrug. “No doubt it is, they’ve definitely made me nearly deaf with their constant chatter” Sage grinned faintly back up at the other, carefully rinsing out the glass at the same time. “Now you go check on the food or something, I promise I won’t let Roy wild on the building” He chuckled softly, turning to face the other as he set the glass to dry as well. |
Sho smiled at Rio when he made mention of fireworks. "I hope that it dries up in time for fireworks. I'm quite looking forward to them myself. Probably what I'm looking forward to the most, since I don't really know anybody to pass the time with at the party."
When Alice answered him about the medicine, he frowned. "I have some in my suitcase." His suitcase that was still sitting up in his room, waiting to be unpacked. He wasn't looking forward to doing that later. Then, thinking of Alice's behavior so far he added, "Or perhaps you'd like to check at the front desk first? Actually, I think there was a souvenir shop in the lobby, if you don't want to have to go up to my room," He hoped that didn't sound as awkward coming out of his mouth as it did coming out of his head. He was just trying to provide Alice with options. |
Alice leaned back a bit, closing his eyes. For a few moments he was silent, almost as if he had fallen asleep. He coughed again, but didn't sneeze this time. He wasn't asleep. Just trying to relax a bit. "...The souvenir shop is closed...alot of the staff is off today..." His eyes still closed, and he pulled Sho's coat tighter about him. Sage probably had some medicine, but Sho was already offering, so why trouble Sage with something. He was probably still busy with that paperwork he had offered to help Matthias with anyway.
He was feeling a bit drowsy and he even sniffed a bit. There was no doubt about it. He was definitely sick. He opened his eyes and looked out the window, still shivering a bit now and then. This really really sucked. Alice couldn't help but wish they were back at the apartments already. He'd crawl into his bed and sleep and not come out for days probably. |
"Then what? Continue our tea?" he asked sarcastically,playing with his own blond hair...
"After all....It's probably half over." |
"Oh right," Even with talk of the party, Sho had forgotten that it was Christmas Eve. The spirit of Christmas certainly didn't seem present here, though he was hoping that it things would be more jolly at the party later. "Ok, how about this? You probably need to get some rest, so you, and Rio if the two of you want," he said with a glance at Rio. He figured that Rio would want to help out, but Alice seemed to be turned off by Rio's forward way of doing things, "Can head to your room so you can lay down. Meanwhile I'll go fetch the medicine and then meet you there. How does that sound?" More than anything, Sho did not want to see Alice bedridden on Christmas Eve, and he also wanted to tread carefully around his very private personality. He hoped this would suffice.

Alice shrank back a bit when Sho mentioned Rio going up to his room with him. He shivered, one of those shivers that had nothing to do with being sick or cold. Those dull blue, almost grey, eyes trained warily on the back of Rio's head for a moment. So far the man hadn't harmed him, but then. They had been surrounded by people. Alice chewed his bottom lip for a moment, mumbling a soft. "..It's not necessary..."
Really. He could drag himself up the elevator alone. Rio nor Sho needed to come with him. Sho didn't need to waste his medicine on him either. "..I'll be fine...You don't need to waste your time..or medicine on me.." He turned his head, once again looking out the window and wishing he was home. |
"I'll be looking forward to it then," he said, looking rather smug as he grinned. When he'd seen the other wash his glass, he went off to put the mug he'd washed back into the cabinet below the counter and made a face. "Johnny would bite me in the ass if that happens. He'll never leave me alone until I tell him I give up." And, if anything, Matthias hated having to bow down to Johnny. At least he'd try not to have that happen all the time.
Patting Sage's back, he motioned to the door just beside his room. There was an extra room for his pet iguana. "Turn off the switch outside before you come in. Wouldn't want finding you on my floor just because you've burned inside-out." Snickering slightly, Matthias took his hand back and waved once to head out and see if the food had arrived. Matthias, of course, came back to grab his phone from the living room table. He also took the folders - the ones he'd signed anyway. "I'm leaving again." Grinning sheepishly, he started his way for the door again, intent on proudly handing the said folders to Johnny. - - - Rio hummed and glanced again at Alice before he'd smiled a bright smile. "Naw', no need ta be shy! I won' hurt a hair on ya." When they'd finally arrived at the parking area, he made sure to find that specific parking spot for the owner of the said complex. Opening the door to look to the side, he turned off the engine and turned to look at the two. "'lright, I'll bring this guy up ta his room and ya go look f'r som' meds." The big man stepped out from the car and opened the trunk to give some air to the food. He'll come back later once he'd made sure he'd brought Alice to his room. "C'mon. The faster ya go ta bed, the faster ya sleep and get better. The faster I get ta bring up these boxes, too." |
He childishly stuck his tongue out at Matthias before chuckling as he dried up the glass and his hands, putting it on the counter once he was done. After all, Sage didn’t want to go rummaging around in the other’s cupboards. Raising an eyebrow at his statement, he paused, imagining the scene before bursting out into laughter.
Blushing lightly, he continued laughing before finally catching his breath. “S-sorry I’m sorry! I just tried imagining that...Sorry” He chuckled softly, rubbing the side of his face sheepishly at the same time. “From what I saw of him though...He doesn’t seem as mean as you make him out to be!” He teased softly. Glancing at Matthias in surprise, he smiled softly before shrugging when the other patted his back. “Will do, and I’m very good in the heat thank you very much! I wouldn’t burn inside-out, or shrivel for that matter!” He pouted before waving back to Matthias, watching him leave with a warm smile. Turning away, he had headed towards the other’s room to meet Roy before he paused as the door opened again. With a light smirk, he waved back to Matthias again. “Got everything this time?” He teased before pausing a moment. “You’re like a little kid, wanting to show off to your big brother” Sage added with another teasing smirk. |
