I've never eaten enchiladas like that before. o: My mom or another family member makes them from scratch. Each time it's made though, it tastes different but delicious.

RoadToGallifrey 04-04-2012 10:45 PM

I've never had them from scratch before. I might try it one day. We get fajitas from a pack too. Sort of a little kit with all the ingredients and then you just put it together. Like a jigsaw for food.

Vanora 04-04-2012 10:49 PM

Oh that's cool.
I didn't know they made foods like that. o.o
/Doesn't go grocery shopping all that much.

That's perfect for when you don't have the time to go to the meat market and prepare it yourself.

RoadToGallifrey 04-04-2012 10:52 PM

I do grocery shopping. I'm an incredibly fussy eater so I often make separate meals from my mum and her boyfriend.

Vanora 04-04-2012 10:53 PM

Ah sounds like my siblings and I.
Sometimes I have to make myself something different than what my mom makes for my siblings. Lol.

RoadToGallifrey 04-04-2012 10:54 PM

Most of the time my mum and her boyfriend eat fish, which I really can't stand. So I'll make myself chicken or something. I had pasta about three times last week.

Vanora 04-04-2012 10:58 PM

I'm picky about fish. Not a huge fan, but I will eat it occasionally.

Mmm pasta, I don't mind it unless that's all I'll be eating for the rest of the week. Too much of something is not good.

RoadToGallifrey 04-04-2012 11:00 PM

I only really like fish if it's in kedgeree. Something that I've asked to have for months and we still haven't. >.>

I love pasta. I variate the sauces I use, so it's always a treat.

Vanora 04-04-2012 11:04 PM

oh I've heard of kedegree dish. It's suppose to be really good. I've never had it myself though.

Yeah, the sauces are usually what makes teh pasta taste great.

RoadToGallifrey 04-04-2012 11:05 PM

I love kedgeree. It's incredibly nice. I can't make it myself though, it always goes wrong.

I had a smoky bacon sauce last Thursday that was really good. (:

Vanora 04-04-2012 11:09 PM

I'd probably have someone who loves to cook make it for me. Dx
/Terrible at cooking.

Oh that sounds divine.

RoadToGallifrey 04-04-2012 11:11 PM

I'm actually a pretty good cook, I just hate doing it.

It was delicious! I would certainly try it again. C:

Vanora 04-04-2012 11:15 PM

I'm not very good. I mean I'm okay to where I could survive on my own, but nothing fancy. Lol.

Do you find the sauces online or at the stores or are they homemade remedies you make yourself?

RoadToGallifrey 04-04-2012 11:19 PM

I like to experiment with food, and I took cookery for four years, so I'm not to shabby. I'm better at baking though, which I actually enjoy more.

The majority of sauces I make myself. The smoky bacon sauce I made by cooking up some bacon with garlic oil, crisping it up under the grill, add pasata into the oil as well as some herbs and spices, then cut the bacon up and add it back into the sauce and cook it all together for five minutes.

Vanora 04-04-2012 11:22 PM

Oh I see. I probably should have taken another cooking class in high school aside from the one I took in junior high. lol.
Baking is fun, I enjoy it more than cooking.

That's really cool. I think I'll have to bring this to my mom's attention. Next time we have bacon. That sounds really good.

RoadToGallifrey 04-04-2012 11:24 PM

I had to take cooking as standard when I first went into secondary school, and then in my third and fourth year I took hospitality. It was more about the presentation than the cooking though. Part of the exam was labelling kitchen appliances and one of mine was a sieve. :headdesk: Surprise surprise, I aced that class.

It's definitely a good one to make.

Wrenji-chan 04-04-2012 11:29 PM

Page 1000! :squee:

Vanora 04-04-2012 11:31 PM

So much for cooking. Haha. Was that in the description of the class?

Yay for page 1000!
I didn't even notice. xD

RoadToGallifrey 04-04-2012 11:33 PM

Nope, if it was I would have taken Health & Food Technology, which was a real subject.

Yay! :boogie:

Vanora 04-04-2012 11:36 PM

Haha, that actually sounds way more interesting. xD

RoadToGallifrey 04-04-2012 11:39 PM

There was less practical work in that class, or so I was told, so that was why I bailed on it. xD My subject choices have been distinctly lacking.

Wrenji-chan 04-04-2012 11:41 PM

Bleh. Wren hates taking class this time of year.

RoadToGallifrey 04-04-2012 11:42 PM

Tell me about it. D; I have a psych prelim and a media prelim in a couple weeks.

Also, what does the emote e.e express? o.o

Vanora 04-04-2012 11:46 PM

I usually take the e,e face as an eww face. Or cringing face. Lol.

RoadToGallifrey 04-04-2012 11:48 PM

Thanks, that's being annoying me. xD
