I can't believe it!
I just signed up for twitter. Twitter! Does anyone else feel like slapping me, because I feel like slapping myself. It's not like I had a life to start with, but this is not helping. *sigh*
I blame virtualshackles... (it's a webcomic, google it.) They keep pasting links to their twitter account, and I keep going "ooooh, pretty..." and today I caved and joined. So do you guys have twitter? Or do you scorn it the way I always did? |
I have a twitter account, but I never use it except to hatch eggs on another website that I like :3
|
I have an acount but I use it to play Echo Bazaar.....come to think of it..I forgot to play for some months....meh, I'll do it anotherday.
|
I have one and use it regularly. I actually tweeted about a dream I had involving my favorite band a few minutes ago.

Nope, I scorn and avoid. |
I have a Twitter, but I don't really use it for much. Mainly for following others and quick information.
It's linked to my Tumblr and Facebook, but that's about it... |
What is twitter?

if so, here: Quote:
I don't have any account on Twitter, and I see no real fun in it... |
I signed up long before it was cool to do it, but in all the time I had it, I don't think I have 100 tweets. I find it boring and a bit pretentious. You don't have to keep telling us what you are thinking and doing every two seconds -- please, give people a chance to miss you...
|
I signed up a while ago and I agree with alexandrakitty, it's dumb as anything. There's no point in telling everyone everything at every second of every day. Nobody actually cares.

My thoughts on Twitter...
Did any of you hear about that guy who wired his toilet to update his twitter? Every time he flushed, it'd post. xD That's sort of the way I feel about it. Ironically and amusingly, my father, who loudly and vibrantly scorned Twitter for years, turned out to have had a Twitter for quite some time. Computer programmers living vicariously through technology at their best! |
I love twitter, actually. Seriously, sometimes all you need is a short sentence to express yourself, and if you're an artist, like I am, all you need is a caption to link what you're working on now. I also use it to keep up with whatever local charities are doing this weekend, and a variety of side things such as that. It's for updates, and it's almost perfect for what it is.
And there really are some funny and interesting fake twitters, like the Bronx Zoo Cobra, and the Rahm Emmanuel one. Of course, LiveJournal had the same general premise for about 10 years, and it doesn't have the same PR, but that's besides the point. |
Rofl Twitter. Hilarious. No, I don't use it. I'd like to follow a few people, like Eminem, Neil Patrick Harris and Jesus (hilarious tweets, man, hilarious), but whenever I'm online, I just go there if I want.
|
Jesus tweets? O.o That's bizarre! I may have to search Him...
|
I'm thinking of signing up for Twitter, but only to post updates for when I post my online stories. Or just some random tidbits of stuff.
|
I worked out I could follow webcomics and stuff, find out when they posted. Also authors, find out when their next book would be released.
|
I've never been to the website.....the concept does not seem that interesting. Nobody needs to know what you're doing at every point in time throughout the day!
|
Carzeebear: Here's Jesus' Twitter for you. When updated, it always makes me giggle. ;D
|
I have one. I use it to keep update with news from bands and musicians I enjoy. Plus, I linked it the text messaging system to my phone so I use it as a way to be able to text my friends who live in other countries.

I do have a twitter. But I am not like some people, and post every single thing I am doing.
I did it just because I wanted to follow these cool youtube-ers. xD But I unfollow when they post everything they are doing. D: that annoys the crap out of me. |
I found Jesus!
And no, I haven't seen that song. Link? |

I considered getting a twitter. Because Max Barry and Neil Gaiman and the ladies from autostraddle all have them... If I got a twitter, then I would know when they were writing interesting books/posts!
By contrast, I don't want to follow the people I know IRL who use twitter. The people I know who make really good quips aren't on twitter. & The people I know who have twitters reckon they can quip. |
