...We're Stuck. (Komori and Woofie)
So this is our newest RP of insanity and inanity and all sorts of fun stuff! Here's my girl:
Name: Cass Age: 21 (though she doesn't remember) Race: Human Appearance: Bronze-colored hair, bright green eyes, pale skin like she stays inside all the time. About 5'3", fairly thin, almost elfin-features and limbs. History: Erm. She has one? Other: None. yet. And Loki, of course. |
Name: Signe "Sig" Powell
Age: 22 Race: Human Appearance: http://fc07.deviantart.net/fs71/f/20...ri-d39azda.jpg Minus the feather and the emerald. She also has a nasty scar across her left cheek, running from the corner of her eye to the bottom of her ear. History: Signe is a drifter of sorts, having run away from home at sixteen and not coming back until now. She keeps pretty quiet about her six years away from home and absolutely refuses to discuss how she got the large scar across her cheek. Now she helps run a small, local bar and takes care of another wanderer who showed up on her doorstep. Other: She has a large pitbull named Tier. And then there's Thor. |
Cass was behind the bar, as usual, helping run the place. She might not remember anything, but she could tend a bar. Signe had helped her learn, and now she could tend a bar as well as anyone else.
She slid a whiskey sour in front of one of the regulars with a small smile, though she didn't speak. She rarely spoke to anyone. Ever since she'd woken up on Signe's doorstep a month ago she'd been jumpy and nervous, striving to remember anything at all. She looked up when she heard a crash outside and then shrugged it off; every once in a while they had a stray dog come try to raid the dumpster, or a raccoon or possum. She figured this was one of those times. Loki landed on the ground hard, though it didn't faze him much. He got to his feet slowly, looking around. He was in a residential area, apparently. His upper lip curled just a little and he looked around. It appeared to be later; no humans were out and about. Not that he could see. Really. Why his father thought they needed to take a jaunt to the human world, he didn't understand. They were so uncivilized, so warlike, so behind in their technology. He started looking around, just to see what was around. |
Signe sighed heavily as her pitbull, Tier, pulled her down the sidewalk. Normally she brought him to the bar with her, but it was Saturday night, meaning more people were likely to be showing up than normal. Sadly, the majority of the populous were weary of the pit the same way they were weary of girls with nasty scars.
"Tier, I don't know what you're problem is but you're gonna have to slow down!" She said as she gave his chain a jerk, trying to get him to heel. But the four-legged body of muscle wasn't having it. With a booming bark he pulled against his harness even harder until he managed to pull the leash from Signe's hand. "Tier stop!" She yelled, running to catch up with her slightly less beloved dog. It was to her horror that she finally saw what he was running toward. Or, rather, who. There was a person standing at the end of the street who hadn't notice them yet. Shit! "Watch it!" But even as she yelled at the stranger her dog was already on him. Tier stopped just short of Loki, growling, his haunches raised at the unusual creature that was in his territory. The dog bared his fangs, positioning himself in a stance to attack, until he caught the god's scent. Instantly Tier relaxed, his ears perking and his tail wagging slightly. Thor groaned as he pulled himself up. His groan quickly turned into a growl when he realized where, exactly, he had landed. A trash heap. The damned gate keeper had flung him into a trash dump. Heimdall was going to pay, as soon as they go back. Really, he didn't understand why father had cast him and Loki down to Earth. True they had been bickering, but it was in their nature! They were brothers! They bickered all the time! Thor hadn't even raised Mjölnir at Loki this time. He didn't understand why now, of all times, they were to be punished this severely. "Brother! Are you here?" He called out, looking around to see where Loki had fallen. "Loki?" But it seemed that his brother was not close by. Wonderful. Now not only was he on Earth but his brother was missing too. Just perfect. But, from the sounds coming from the building nearby, he had at least landed somewhere close to merriment. Perhaps someone inside had seen his brother. |
Loki looked down at the animal before glancing at Signe. He offered his hand to Tier to sniff before rubbing his ears. He was a good animal, kept track of his mistress and kept her protected. He could tell.
"Your dog?" he asked smoothly, picking up the leash and offering it to Signe. He didn't even look twice at the scar. Where he came from, such a scar wouldn't be something to hide. In fact, many warriors had much worse scars than that. Cass continued tending the bar, waiting for Signe to get there. She was usually a little later on Saturday nights, since she had to take Tier for a walk first. So Cass was content to wait. She handed over a pitcher of beer to a waitress with a nod, and then made up a couple martinis before handing those over as well. Not many people seemed interested in much besides fries, which was good since she had to do the cooking. Their chef hadn't shown up, again. She'd really have to speak to Signe about that man. She looked over when the door opened to find a blonde man standing there. He was like no man she'd seen before; tall, muscular, and wearing some kind of armor or costume or something with a long red cape, he looked so out of place. But she didn't comment. |
"Yes." Signe said in exasperation as she took the leash. "Sorry, he doesn't normally get so territorial." She said while shooting Tier a reprimanding look. "He didn't try to bite you, did he? I swear he's a good dog." Her face and voice stressed worry and concern, but it was more for the sake of her dog than how the man fared. The last thing she wanted was some stranger bringing up a lawsuit and having the one good man in her life taken away.
But now that she really stopped and looked at the man, she didn't think there would be a problem with that. Her eyes were beginning to adjust to the dimming light and she could see exactly what the man was wearing. It was some odd suit, cape included. And the most ridiculous helmet that she had ever seen. "It's a little early for Halloween, don't you think?" She asked with an eyebrow raised. Thor didn't notice the stares or the sudden, stunned silence that fell across the bar as he entered. He was too concerned with finding his brother so they could apologize, smile happily for Father, and get the hell off this forsaken world. "Good people, I come seeking my brother, Loki. He's pale, scrawny, with dark, limp hair. He looks a little like a snake, actually. That or a snail." He said with a booming laugh that filled the bar. "Surely someone has seen him."[/COLOR] |
"I am fine. Do not concern yourself." Loki glanced her over again before returning his attention to Tier. He'd never seen the need for a dog, but some humans enjoyed them. So did his brother, actually. Although those were hunting dogs.
He raised an eyebrow at her odd statement. "This is my normal attire," he said. Humans were such odd creatures. If he had a choice he'd never have come here. "Do not fret, mortal. I will be gone soon enough." As soon as he found his brother, they were going home and then he wouldn't have to deal with these ridiculous humans. Cass blinked a few times when he spoke, looking at him. The locals all eyed him mistrustfully until she spoke up. "Sorry, sir. We haven't seen him." Her voice was quiet, but she could be heard over the noise. "You're the first newcomer in an hour or so." |
Just when Signe thought that her night couldn't get any worse, it did. Not only did the man not flinch away from a charging pittbull, he dressed funny, and had a deity complex. Maybe she really did have a blinking sign over her head that only the truly mentally challenged could see.
"Well obviously the definition of 'normal' is different from wherever you come from." She said as she pulled out her phone to check the time and call Cass. There was no way she was going to make it to the bar on time. "But I'm sure the nice young men in white will be by soon to take you back home." She added with her friendliest smile before she dialed the bars number. "Cass, its Sig. Sorry I'm running late, Tier got loose and ran into some guy who just escaped from the sanitarium. Let me get my little beast back in the house then I'll be on my way." Thor heard her voice, soft as it was, floating above the slowly growing whispers in the room around him. It did not take him long to find her, standing behind the bar, looking ever so much like the beer maidens back home. He smiled to her as he approached, a smile that could win and break a thousand hearts. "Is that so? A shame, but my brother is a big boy, he can take care of himself. For now I think I will just stay put and enjoy my company. I'm sure he will find me eventually." |
Loki raised an eyebrow at her. Obviously she thought he was insane. Which he clearly was not. He had to resist rolling his eyes.
When she called the bar, however, he listened in. He could hear her speaking to someone else, but he couldn't tell who. "Take a seat, then," Cass said, glancing at him. She held up one finger to ask him to wait a moment, picking up the phone. "Oh, it's okay. There's some weirdly dressed guy here too." Cass nearly rolled her eyes, putting her back to the rest of the bar. "Demanding buggar, too. Wanted to know about his brother." |
"Its not some drunk college frat boy is it?" Signe asked instantly, her eyes narrowing. "The bat is in my office if you need it." But when she heard the rest of Cass' description she stopped and looked back over at Loki, her brows knit together in thought. "Brother huh. He say what his brother's name was?"
Thor took a seat and waited, watching her only a moment before his eyes began to wander the rest of the bar. Most of the people were still staring at him, talking amongst themselves. Of course, he figured, smirking to himself. They had never truly seen a god before. It was in their right to stare and be fascinated. Very few humans were ever this lucky. |
"Um. Loki, I think?" Cass shrugged. "I'm sure he's just some nut." Some extremely handsome, very ripped nut, but a nut none the less. "
She glanced back at Thor before turning away again. "Don't worry about me. I'm fine. Just take of Tier and get over here when you can." Loki's eyebrows raised when he heard her ask about a name. Had the person on the other end met Thor, perhaps? Oh, that would make this so much easier. |
"Yea, probably, but you can't be too safe. Put him in the back room until I get there. I shouldn't be too much longer."
Signe said a final goodbye to her friend before hanging up and putting her phone back in her pocket. With a sharp whistle she drew Tier's attention away from the cat across the street. "Loki, is it? Seems my parents weren't the only ones fond of Norse mythology. You need to come with me. Your brother is at my bar looking for you." She told Loki before turning and walking down the street back toward her apartment, pit and god of mischief in tow. Thor's attention had been captured by a pitcher of beer placed in front of him while Cass was on the phone. It did not smell as good as the meed in Asgard, but he supposed it would do. Without waiting for a cup he took the pitcher and tilted it back, chugging it with ease. When he set the pitcher down he heard some of the locals cheering and turned around to smile at them, enjoying their revelry. Perhaps Earth wasn't too horrible of a place after all. |
"Thor?" Loki raised his eyebrows. Oh good. He had been found, and he hadn't gotten himself into too much trouble. Not yet, anyway. He motioned for Signe to lead the way with a courteous smile that didn't reach his eyes.
Now all he had to do was get to his idiot brother, convince their father that they were getting along fine and all was well, and they'd be on their merry way. Cass rolled her eyes as she hung up before she turned to Thor again. She blinked when she found the pitcher empty but then she just shook her head. "Come on," she said to him, slipping out from behind the bar. "Signe and your brother will be here soon. You can wait for them in the back room." |
Signe snorted when he said his brother's name. "Seriously? Thor? And I thought I had it bad." She laughed as Tier trotted along beside her, stubby tail wagging. Okay, so maybe she was being a bit catty, but really who wouldn't be in a situation like this? It was just too insane for her not to laugh. Some days laughter was the only thing that kept her going anyway.
Pulling keys from her back pocket she opened the back doors and motioned Tier inside. "You're getting lucky tonight, pup. But no peeing on drunks. Its only funny when they are hammered enough for them to think its their own." She warned her dog before she shut him in. She opened the passenger door for Loki, throwing some trash into the back so that he would have room. Although with all he had on she wasn't sure it mattered. "My brother? You've found Loki? Of course you have. He always shows up just as I'm starting to have a bit of fun." Thor groused but allowed himself to be lead away from his new friends and into a more private setting. He was not sure exactly why he was being taken back here, but if this was what the lovely lady wanted then he wasn't going to complain. |
Loki looked at her car oddly for a few moments before he sat down, folding himself into her car gracefully. "Those are the names we were given at birth by our father, Odin." He slanted a look at her but stayed silent as she drove.
At least he liked her dog. Otherwise she was just an extremely annoying mortal. "Just stay in here, please," Cass said, opening the door to the back room. Hopefully he'd listen. But perhaps a little bribery was in order. "I'll bring you more beer if you stay in here." Hey, it never hurt, at least. |
Signe nodded slowly, electing to leave her music off for this drive. She knew a little of Norse mythology, having embraced it due to her name. But never had she met someone who was...obsessed. "Right. I suppose he would have. That makes your mother, Frigga, right?" She asked, trying to remember correctly. At least he didn't think he was Puck or some other god.
Suddenly she snickered, remembering one of her more favorite stories about Loki. "So, Loki, did you truly talk your brother into disguising himself as Freja in a wedding dress so that he could retrieve Mjölnir?" She asked, looking over at him with an amused smile. Thor's eyes lit up a little at the mention of more of the ale that he had been drinking earlier. "Of course I will stay, if my lady so wishes. But I would like more of this...beer. It is the best drink that I have had outside of Asgard." |
Loki smirked. "You know our stories well," he said, rather surprised. "I thought all humans had long since turned their attentions to other things."
He'd thought the old ways had been forgotten. Humans had been better when they'd remembered their gods. "Yeah, sure, I'll bring you more." Cass shrugged. "Just stay." She gave him a stern look before she turned and went back out into the main bar, filling up another pitcher of beer for him. She made a quick check of everything to make sure no one else needed anything. |
"I know a few." Signe shrugged as she drove them across town to the bar. "My father used to read me old stories as bed time stories when I was a girl. While other girls were being told about princess in castles waiting to be rescued I was taught about Ragnarok and the Tree of Life. But what more can you expect from a modern day viking?" Her question was rhetorical but didn't stop the sad smile that sprang onto her face, or the distant focus of her eyes.
It was Tier's excited barking that snapped her out of her daze in time for her not to miss the turn into the bar's parking lot. She drove around back and parked next to the door so they could get in and out quickly. "Alrighty then, lets go find your brother." "You have my word, m'lady." Thor said, bowing at the waist to her before watching her go. Once she was gone he took a seat, looking around the room, studying a few pictures on the walls and other things he didn't understand. There were letters he didn't recognize and even fewer words. It had been centuries since he had last been down here, a lot certainly had changed. Humans had been busy. |
Loki nodded and stayed silent for the ride. Once they got there, however, he got out and motioned for her to lead the way.
"Thor?" he called. "Where are you, brother?" He moved over to the back door easily, opening it and heading inside. He didn't wait for Signe. Cass went back into the back room with the pitcher of beer for him, handing it over to him before she left again. Who bowed anymore? Seriously? Shaking her head, she kept silent as she worked. At least until she heard the back door open. Then she headed for the hallway, pausing when she saw Loki. |
Signe let him go ahead of her, shaking her head as she let Tier out of the back seat and let him off the leash. He was good about staying close by, at least.
She let her new found crazy friend roam the back rooms while she went looking for Cass. She found her friend quickly for which she was grateful. "There hasn't been any trouble has there?" She asked as she stood back and let the man look for his brother. Thor looked up as he heard his name called. "Loki? Is that you?" He opened the door to the back room and instantly spotted his brother. Despite their earlier argument he had never been more glad to see his brother. Instantly he pulled the smaller man into a hug, patting him firmly on the back. "Thank goodness you've arrived. Now all we have to do is tell Father we are sorry and he will let us home." For a brief moment he looked down the hallway where he saw Cass and Signe talking. He hadn't seen the new woman before but the way she was looking at Loki it was obvious that they were at least somewhat familiar. Thor smirked, looking at his brother. "Let it not be said that Thor is the only slayer of women's hearts. We have only been here an hour and already you have a lovely maiden following after you. You truly are my brother." |
"No, no trouble." Cass shook her head. "Just the crazy guy back there." She smiled to a customer as she handed off a rum and Coke.
"You brought Tier!" She grinned, delighted. The dog was the only one she liked as much as Signe. She immediately headed over to the door to greet the dog, fondling his ears and baby-talking to him. She loved that dog. Loki laughed quietly but didn't bother to correct his brother. He looked around and saw the pitcher on the floor. "Where are we? A meadhouse?" He shook his head as he looked at his brother. "Only you would land in front of a meadhouse, brother. Only you." |
Signe laughed a little as Tier ate up the attention, his tail thumbing happily against the floor. "Well I was already late so I figured I would bring him in. I'll keep him in the office until more people leave." She said simply as she tied an apron around her waist and got to work tending bar. There was a large uproar of people greeting her and she waved back to them as she started mixing drinks and filling pitchers, allowing her friend to take a break.
"Behind it, actually." Thor corrected, grimacing slightly. "I landed in a pile of trash outside. Heimdall is lucky that it was by this meadhouse and not elsewhere. They have this drink here, they call it beer, it is not as good as meed but it is not horrible. You should try some before we go! Surely Father will not fault us for sharing a few brotherly drinks before returning home!" |
Cass kissed the top of his head, rubbing his ears one last time before she went over and opened the door to the office, getting Tier in before she shut the door quietly. Then she rejoined Signe, although she stayed behind to cook.
"Hey, yell if someone needs help serving or anything," she called. "We haven't had many food orders, so I should be good." "I am sure he would be happy that we're getting along well enough to have a few brotherly drinks," Loki said smoothly. Well, he thought so, at least. "Come. Let us try this beer." He left the back room, heading towards the main room again. |
"Don't worry sweets, I got this." Signe said as she took over for the bar. She had been doing this longer than what was actually legal, and it was where she was the most comfortable. Most of the patrons were regulars and she knew their drinks by heart. They knew not to question or make a fuss and she returned with a smile and teasing jokes in kind. It was not quite a family, but it was close.
But the happiness was interrupted when she saw Loki and Thor come out from the back. Shit. She had almost forgotten they were back there. Somehow she had hoped they would just kind of disappear once they were reunited. Maybe they really were gods and would just poof back to wherever they belonged and out of her hair. Quickly she came around the bar and blocked their path from the main room. "Wait a second you two, you can't go out there dressed like that. This group is a nice bunch, but too many drinks and someone says something stupid and next thing I know someone takes a swing at someone else and I have a fist fight on my hands. Contrary to popular belief bar brawls are bad for business. I have extra clothes in the back. Change, then you can join the public." Thor followed him, glad to see that he agreed. Normally his brother was too much of a stick in the mud to enjoy a drink, but this turn of events seemed to be for the better. After all, if he could get some alcohol into his brother he could probably get him drunk enough to say anything. Certainly Father would have to let them back home then, if not for anything more than protecting the people from his drunk brother. But their path was stopped by the woman from before, the one who had brought Loki to him. He raised an eyebrow at her, amused by her bravado. "This one thinks herself a shield maiden, brother. Does she not remind you of Sif?" |
Cass stayed where she was. Signe could handle them. She was good at that. Cass didn't do so well with people. She just watched.
But she did keep an eye on them, and she did keep one hand on a frying pan. Just in case. "Indeed she does. Although she is not quite Sif. Somehow I doubt she could do as well in a fight against you, brother." Loki let Thor deal with this one. He didn't see why he had to change, but he would. Maybe. |
